Google Search’s “Let Google call” feature can contact nearby stores to ask whether they have a product, what it costs, and whether offers are available. You start the request with a local product search; Google sends a summary by text, email, or both. It is an information service—not a purchase, reservation, or guarantee that an item will still be in stock.
How to ask Google to check local stock

In Google Search or AI Mode, search for a product and include “near me” or “nearby.” Google gives toys, health and beauty products, and electronics as examples of searches that can signal local buying intent. You can also try phrases such as “check stock,” “in stock nearby,” “availability,” “price,” or “deals.”

If the option appears, select “Let Google call” or the available in-stock confirmation option and start the request. Google says the feature may appear for certain searches, so the option is not available for every product query.

Answer the Gemini-generated questions about the product. Depending on the flow, you may be asked to confirm your contact information, choose a location, review the request, and submit it. A specific street address or intersection can help Google identify which nearby stores to contact.

Choose text, email, or both for the report, if those choices are offered. Google then contacts relevant businesses and sends the results.
The report can summarize store availability, prices, and offers. It may also include additional nearby inventory from stores listed in Google Shopping Graph. Google describes the result as a summary; it should not be treated as a live inventory guarantee.

Who can use it, and what products are covered?
Google Shopping Help documents the feature for signed-in customers using English-language Search in the United States, except Indiana, Louisiana, Minnesota, Montana, and Nebraska. Google’s wording is conditional—the option may appear—so meeting those criteria does not mean it will show for every query.

What the calls can—and cannot—do
The service is intended to check availability and ask questions about the relevant product type. Google’s Help page says: “Currently, the feature focuses on product availability confirmation and questions about that product type. You can’t add custom questions at this time.” You also cannot use it to ask a store to put an item on hold.
That makes it different from calling a store yourself. Google can spare you from making multiple calls, but a direct call lets you ask a custom question and request confirmation of a hold. If you need a specific detail beyond the automated request, or need the store to reserve the item, contact the business directly.

What to expect from participating stores
Google advises businesses to keep the phone number on their Business Profile accurate, and says its calls identify themselves. The Associated Press reported that the call discloses that it is made by an AI caller and that merchants can opt out. The feature therefore depends on stores being reachable and responding; the available sources do not establish a response-time, accuracy, or shopper-savings rate.
