The week ending October 3, 2026, brought a broad mix of tech news: Amazon refreshed its Kindle line, Samsung announced new tablets, Meta’s Muse put personal data and AI assistance in focus, and Peloton introduced treadmills with camera-based form tracking. Here are the eight stories in TechRadar’s weekly recap, with the key caveats on pricing, availability, and claims.

1. Meta Muse puts personal context at the center of its AI agent

Meta Muse is described as a phone-based proactive AI agent designed to help with tasks such as filling in forms and remembering a grocery list. Its usefulness can depend on access to personal context, including calendar and email information. That creates a practical trade-off: more context may make assistance more relevant, but it also means users should understand what information the service can access and how it is used. TechRadar reports that Editor at Large Lance Ulanoff tested Muse; that is his reported experience, not an independent assessment in this recap.

2. Peloton’s new treadmills use cameras for form tracking

Fitness & Wearables Editor Matt Evans spoke with Peloton executives Nick Caldwell and Meg Higgins about the company’s new treadmills. The changes mentioned include camera-based workout form tracking, a cushioning system, and a redesigned interface.

Can a treadmill replace your wearable?

Caldwell and Higgins argued that the cameras can assess workouts better than wrist-worn wearables. That is a claim attributed to Peloton executives, not an independently established comparison. The recap does not provide a test method or comparative results, so it does not establish that treadmill cameras outperform wearables generally.

3. Early Prime Big Deal Days offers appeared ahead of the sale

TechRadar reported early offers on products from Samsung, Blink, Nintendo, Philips, and Anker before Prime Big Deal Days officially began. The event was due to start on October 6, 2026. Offers and event dates are time-sensitive, so the roundup’s early-deal report should not be treated as a live price or a guarantee that any particular offer remains available.

4. Amazon announced a Fire TV Stick 4K refresh and redesigned remote

The recap reports a new Fire TV Stick 4K, a redesigned remote, and Alexa+ AI updates. It gives a launch-period price of $59.99 in the US and £69.99 in the UK, as reported by TechRadar on October 3, 2026; international pricing was still to be confirmed at that point. Those figures are dated launch reporting, not a current quote. TechRadar also says the redesigned remote could be purchased separately for use with an older Fire TV Stick; check device compatibility and current regional availability before buying.

5. Vivo unveiled a 4.7x teleconverter for its X500 phone series

TechRadar identifies Vivo’s G2 Ultra 4.7x teleconverter as a specialist camera accessory unveiled alongside the X500 phone series. The roundup said it was available to buy only in China at publication, October 3, 2026; it does not establish its current sales territory or compatibility details.

TechRadar Cameras Editor Tim Coleman, who the article says tested the accessory, described it this way: “In the words of our Cameras Editor Tim Coleman, who’s been testing out the accessory, the teleconverter ‘is a real showcase of what smartphone cameras can be capable of’.” This is Coleman’s reported assessment, not an independently verified performance result.

6. Freckle Phone is designed for children without conventional apps

The Freckle Phone is described as a children’s phone for calling and taking photos, without conventional apps. Its developers instead chose curated apps intended to encourage outdoor activity and exploration. The recap does not give a price, age recommendation, availability details, or evidence that the approach produces developmental outcomes, so it cannot answer those questions for parents.

7. Samsung announced Galaxy Tab S12 tablets and SmartTag 3

TechRadar reports that Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab S12 Plus and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra. It describes the Ultra as a 14.6-inch tablet that is faster and slimmer than its predecessor. The recap does not provide a complete specification table or confirm regional model names and availability, so buyers should verify exact versions and specifications in their market.

The roundup also says Samsung’s SmartTag 3 works with iPhones and adds features and range improvements. It does not detail the supported iPhone features or quantify the range change, so check the product’s compatibility and specifications before relying on it with a particular device.

8. Amazon refreshed its Kindle lineup

TechRadar characterized the announcement as a complete Kindle-line refresh, identifying 13th-generation e-readers, new colors, updated accessories, and models with physical page-turn buttons. It also reported aluminum unibody construction in some cases and a move of the power button from the bottom to the side.

The recap does not name exact Kindle models or provide model-by-model specifications and accessory compatibility. “13th generation” therefore describes the family-level reporting here; it is not enough by itself to identify a particular model or confirm that an existing case or accessory will fit a new device.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
