She also wrote: “I loved being that counterbalancing place of safety, sense of calm, and love — and delighted in bringing a smile back to his face when he was down. I will miss him dearly.” These remarks express Zilis’s feelings and characterization of the relationship; they do not explain the circumstances that led to the separation.
What do the reports say about the recent messages?
Coverage described screenshots of messages dated September 24. The Independent reported that Zilis wrote, “It was really wonderful to see you for breakfast. Love you very much,” and that Musk replied, “Love you too.” The messages help explain why Zilis described the separation as abrupt, but the cited reports do not independently authenticate the screenshots or establish what happened privately between them.

Hindustan Times reported that Zilis posted after Musk unfollowed her on X. That is reported context, not evidence of why the relationship ended or what either person decided.
What has been said about their children and co-parenting?
The reports say Zilis and Musk share four children: twins Strider and Azure, daughter Arcadia, and son Seldon Lycurgus. Hindustan Times dates the twins’ birth to November 2021, Arcadia’s to early 2024, and Seldon’s to February 2025. These dates and family details are attributed to news coverage.

Zilis wrote, “I do hope and pray he and I can be great friends and coparents.” That is her stated hope, not confirmation that they have reached an agreement or settled co-parenting arrangements.
