Gemini and Find Hub can help you remember where you put belongings while clearing and reorganizing your home. Google announced a feature for saving an untagged item’s location in Find Hub; it is a practical memory aid, not a cleaning tool. The title’s “full day down to two hours” is a personal account, not a result established by Google or an independent study.
What Gemini and Find Hub can do during a deep-clean
Google announced on September 1, 2026, that users can ask Gemini to remember where they put an item and save that location to Find Hub. For example, Google suggests saying, “Hey Google, remember in Find Hub that I put my passport in my bedroom drawer,” with an optional photo for context. Later, you can ask Gemini where the item is or check Find Hub’s remembered-items tab. Google’s September Android Drop announcement describes the feature.

During a clean-out, this could be useful when you move infrequently used belongings into a designated drawer, cupboard, or storage box. Record the new location as you put an item away, rather than relying on memory later. The feature’s role is to help you retrieve stored belongings; it does not sort possessions, clean rooms, or perform physical tasks.

- When you put an untagged item away, ask Gemini to remember its location in Find Hub. Include a clear location, such as the room and drawer or box, and optionally add a photo for context.
- When you need the item later, ask Gemini where you stored it, or open Find Hub and check its remembered-items tab.
- If the option is not available, check again later: Google described the feature as coming soon, for Android 16 or later in countries where both Gemini and Find Hub are supported. Availability may depend on the rollout in your country and on your device.
Remembered locations and tracker tags are different
You do not need a tracker tag to save a remembered location. The feature is for recording where you placed an untagged item. A physical tracker is attached to an item and helps locate the item through Find Hub; it is a separate option for belongings you want to track.

A tracker may suit keys, a wallet, or luggage that you want to locate as it moves. It is not required for recording where you store a passport or spare key, and Google’s Pixel Tag announcement does not establish that the author used one during the clean.

The title reports a personal comparison: a full day for one annual deep-clean versus two hours for another. The available product announcements confirm the Find Hub memory feature, but do not verify those times, explain how they were measured, identify which cleaning tasks changed, or establish that Gemini and Find Hub caused the difference. Treat the result as an individual anecdote, not a typical saving or a tested benchmark.

Google has also described Gemini beta automation for selected food, grocery, and rideshare apps. That is separate from remembering item locations and does not mean Gemini can carry out physical cleaning; the February 25, 2026 announcement describes app automation with user visibility and the ability to interrupt.
