The viral class is the Tracy Anderson Method, and the $900 figure refers to a reported monthly studio membership—not one workout. In a first-person review published October 3, 2026, Women’s Health writer Addison Aloian, NASM-CPT, describes taking a one-hour muscular structure class at a New York City studio. Her account offers a vivid picture of one session, but it cannot establish what every class is like or whether the method is worth the price for every person.
What the Tracy Anderson class was like
Aloian chose muscular structure, a mat-based format. She describes a session of near-continuous movement, with little downtime, music throughout, and repeated sequences that moved between standing and floor work. The choreography included dance-like arm movements with light weights, leg lifts, and core exercises. Following the sequences and changes of direction took concentration.
Her class was heated to 95°F with 75% humidity and lasted about an hour. Those conditions describe the session she attended, not a guarantee about every class or studio. The review also identifies MultiTAsk band as a separate format that combines muscular structure with resistance-band cardio.

The author reports using a Tracy Anderson-branded mat, 3-pound “heartstones” (weight balls), 3-pound dumbbells, and 1.5-pound ankle weights. The article does not say that participants must buy these items or that ordinary equipment will reproduce the class exactly.

How it felt to the reviewer
Aloian calls the workout “dance-meets-endurance.” She says the many repetitions with light weights created a burn, while some unfamiliar movements were difficult to execute. She enjoyed the dance element, but found the heat and humidity overwhelming toward the end. She drank water and took seated breaks, and afterward described herself as very sweaty and physically and mentally exhausted.
Her Apple Watch recorded a peak heart rate of 167 during that session. That is a single device reading from one person; it does not establish a typical class heart rate, measured workout intensity, safety, or fitness benefit.

| Option | Price reported October 3, 2026 | What the source says |
|---|---|---|
| Studio membership | $900 per month | Reported by Aloian in the Women’s Health article republished by AOL. |
| Single in-person class | $60 per class | Reported price for nonmembers in the same article. |
| Virtual and live memberships | Starting at $90 per month | Reported starting price in the same article. |
These are figures as published in that article, not independently confirmed current booking terms. Aloian lists studios in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Montana, Madrid, and London; that is likewise the article’s location list at publication, not a live directory.
Who might enjoy it—and who might not
The reviewer says she liked the dance component but personally prefers heavier lifting when her goal is building strength, or a more straightforward dance class when she wants to dance. Her account suggests the class may appeal to someone who enjoys choreography, repeated light-weight work, floor-based leg and core sequences, and a heated setting. Those are preference cues, not proof that the method is better or worse than another workout.
If the price is the main question, the reported single-class and virtual/live options are alternatives to compare with the studio membership. The review does not benchmark competing workouts or establish which option is the best value; access, class format, heat preference, and how often you would attend all affect that decision.

Practical notes from the visit
Aloian says she was advised to drink water before class and follow the instructor, who spoke little during the session. She suggests drinking before and during class, taking breaks, and considering earplugs if the music feels loud. These are her personal suggestions, not clinical guidance or a formal heat-safety assessment. If you have concerns about exercising in heat, seek advice suited to your circumstances rather than treating one reviewer’s experience as a safety recommendation.
