The Claude Certified Architect, Foundations exam is a technical assessment for people designing production applications with Claude—not a general test of how to chat with Claude. Anthropic’s current listing describes a 60-question, 120-minute exam with five weighted domains. This guide uses that blueprint to explain how to prioritize a two-week preparation window, while keeping the score and timeline in the headline in their proper context: Anthropic’s public materials do not verify an individual score of 880 or a two-week study history.
What the Claude Certified Architect, Foundations exam covers
Anthropic describes the credential as a technical exam for solution architects building production applications with Claude. The current Academy listing identifies five domains and assigns each a share of the exam:
| Exam domain | Weight |
|---|---|
| Agentic Architecture & Orchestration | 27% |
| Claude Code Configuration & Workflows | 20% |
| Prompt Engineering & Structured Output | 20% |
| Tool Design & MCP Integration | 18% |
| Context Management & Reliability | 15% |
The three largest domains total 67% of the published blueprint. That makes them sensible priorities when time is short, but it does not make the remaining domains optional: tools and MCP, along with context and reliability, account for the other 33%. These are blueprint weights, not an official Anthropic study-time prescription. Check the live exam listing for current details.

How to use a two-week preparation window
A two-week plan should follow the exam blueprint and the official materials rather than assume that a particular number of study hours or a fixed routine guarantees a score. The precise sequence below is a practical way to organize preparation around the published domains, not a claim about an independently verified personal study schedule.
#1 Best Overall
Start with the exam guide and a knowledge check
Open the official exam page and review its exam guide. Use the domain list to mark areas where you can already explain a design decision and areas where you cannot. For each domain, try to describe the relevant architecture, implementation choices, and failure modes without relying on vague familiarity with Claude.
Prioritize the highest-weight domains
Give the most attention to Agentic Architecture & Orchestration, Claude Code Configuration & Workflows, and Prompt Engineering & Structured Output. Together these make up 67% of the listed exam. Use the weights to allocate emphasis, not to skip lower-weight topics or to assume that questions will appear in exactly those proportions in every version.
Rank #2
Cover tools, MCP, context, and reliability
Reserve deliberate review for Tool Design & MCP Integration and Context Management & Reliability. The blueprint assigns them 18% and 15%, respectively. A preparation plan that focuses only on agents, Claude Code, and prompts would leave nearly a third of the listed subject matter untouched.
Practice explaining production trade-offs
Because Anthropic frames the credential around production applications, organize practice around design choices rather than memorizing isolated terminology. For each topic in the guide, explain what the component does, when you would use it, how it interacts with the rest of an application, and what could make the result unreliable. This is a study approach inferred from the exam’s stated audience and domains; Anthropic does not publish evidence that it produces a particular score.
Rank #3
Use the final review to find gaps, not to add unsupported shortcuts
Revisit the official guide and Academy course material for domains you could not explain clearly. If you use independent practice material, compare its coverage with the current official blueprint; the official sources cited here do not establish the quality of third-party providers or a reliable pass-rate advantage from using them.
Official preparation resources
Anthropic Academy’s exam page links an exam guide and says free Academy courses cover the exam domains. One listed example, “Building with the Claude API Level 100–200,” describes content spanning authentication, prompt engineering, evaluations, tool use, retrieval-augmented generation, agents, and production patterns. Course names and availability can change, so consult the current exam page and course catalog rather than relying on an old course listing.
Rank #4
Academy resources for candidates should not be confused with partner-only enablement. Anthropic’s Partner Network announcement describes training materials and partner resources for members, and its later Services Track announcement says individual certifications are earned through Partner Academy exams. Those announcements do not establish that every partner benefit or training item is available to every exam candidate.

As listed by Anthropic Academy when accessed in October 2026, the exam has 60 questions and a 120-minute limit, or an average of two minutes per question. The listing gives English as the language, online proctoring or a Pearson test center as delivery options, a US$125 fee, and 12-month validity. These are mutable logistics, not permanent terms; verify the current listing before registering.

What an 880 score and two-week timeline do—and do not—show
The score and preparation timeline in the headline are personal claims. Anthropic’s public exam and partner pages do not verify that an author earned 880, prepared in two weeks, or used any particular study routine. They also do not publish a pass rate, average score, typical preparation time, or evidence that two weeks reliably leads to a specific result. Treat the headline as an individual account, not a benchmark or promise.
The credential has professional context within Anthropic’s partner ecosystem, but the available announcements do not establish that earning it produces a job, salary increase, or consulting revenue. Anthropic announced an initial US$100 million investment in the Claude Partner Network for partner training, technical support, and joint market development; that is program context, not an individual exam-preparation budget. In June 2026, Anthropic reported that more than 40,000 firms had applied and more than 10,000 consultants had earned a Claude certification. Those are company-reported network figures, not pass-rate or exam-outcome statistics. See Anthropic’s Partner Network announcement and Services Track and Partner Hub announcement for that context.
