Moda is the presentation tool behind the under-five-minute claim: in a September 19, 2026, XDA Developers article, Nolen Jonker says it generated a six-slide explainer deck in under two minutes. That is one author’s reported result, not a benchmark or a promise that every deck will take the same time. The more useful question is whether Moda can get you to a presentable PDF quickly while keeping the deck editable enough for later changes.

What Moda changes in the presentation workflow

Jonker describes switching to Moda after using Claude Design, PowerPoint, and Canva. The frustration was personal: PowerPoint could leave him facing “blank-slide paralysis,” while Canva’s template choices could feel overwhelming. His point was not that the other tools cannot make presentations, but that he wanted a faster path from an idea to a designed first draft.

In the XDA account, Moda starts with a brief and generates a deck on a vector canvas. Text, shapes, and other elements remain selectable, and the author says he could adjust them in an inspector or by dragging them on the canvas. That combination matters: an AI-generated first pass is useful only if you can correct an awkward layout, change wording, or refine an element without rebuilding every slide.

The six-slide example took under two minutes according to Jonker. The article does not establish how long other topics, longer decks, account tiers, or rounds of revision take, and it does not compare identical prompts across Moda, Claude Design, PowerPoint, and Canva. Treat the speed claim as an example of a possible first draft, not a reliable completion estimate.

Can Moda make a PDF you can still use?

Jonker describes Moda’s PDF export as a hybrid PDF: text remains selectable, most vector elements are retained, and hyperlinks are preserved. That is more useful than a deck exported as a flat image if you need to search or copy text, follow links, or keep vector artwork crisp when zooming. These are the reviewer’s descriptions, not a separate compatibility certification, so check the exported file in the PDF viewer and workflow you plan to use.

A PDF is still best treated as a distribution format, not a substitute for a fully editable presentation file. If colleagues need to rearrange slides or substantially revise the content, the XDA article says Moda can also export to PowerPoint, with text, basic shapes, and images represented as editable native objects. It does not establish that every design element transfers perfectly or that the export behaves identically in every version of PowerPoint.

How Moda compares with the tools it replaces

There is no controlled head-to-head timing test in the available account, so the practical distinction is workflow and handoff rather than a proven speed ranking. Use the destination format and the amount of editing you expect to decide which tool fits.

Tool What the cited source says it offers Best fit suggested by those details
Moda XDA describes AI-generated slides on an editable vector canvas, hybrid PDF export, and editable PowerPoint objects for text, basic shapes, and images. These details come from Jonker’s September 19, 2026 article. A fast first draft when you want to refine on-canvas and deliver a PDF, with a PowerPoint handoff option.
Claude Design Anthropic’s help page says Claude Design is in beta on Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise. It lists PDF and PPTX export, plus Google Slides export only at claude.ai/design. Enterprise access is off by default until an organization owner enables it. A Claude-based design workflow when its available export formats match the handoff you need.
Canva Canva’s presentation page describes a drag-and-drop editor with templates and design elements, and PDF or PowerPoint downloads. It also lists image and video export choices. A template-led editor when you want to choose and arrange designs manually, or need the listed export options.
PowerPoint The XDA article names PowerPoint as one of Jonker’s previous tools, but does not provide a tested feature or speed comparison against Moda. Use it when the recipient or your existing workflow requires a PowerPoint presentation; the cited account does not support a broader comparison.

What to check before using a generated deck

Fast generation does not remove the need for editorial and visual review. Before sending a PDF or handing off a presentation, inspect the complete deck rather than judging it by the first slide.

  • Content: Verify claims, names, figures, spelling, and whether the slides tell the story you intended.
  • Layout: Look for crowded text, inconsistent alignment, clipped elements, and visual choices that do not suit the audience.
  • PDF behavior: Open the export in your normal viewer; check that text is selectable, links work, and graphics remain clear at the size recipients will view or print.
  • Handoff: If someone else must edit the deck, open the PowerPoint export in the software they use and confirm the objects they need are editable.
  • Revisions: Allow time for manual fixes and additional generation. The reported under-two-minute example does not include a documented, repeatable end-to-end editing benchmark.

What the reported credits and price do—and do not—tell you

Jonker’s September 19, 2026, article reports 1,500 monthly AI credits per seat on Moda’s free tier, about 300 credits for a five-slide deck using the Standard model, and a Pro plan at $30 per month with 6,000 credits. These are figures reported in that article, not independently verified current plan terms. Because plan limits and pricing can change, check Moda’s current plan information before relying on them. The cited account also does not establish how much extra usage revisions require for a particular project.

When switching to Moda makes sense

Moda is worth considering if your main bottleneck is getting from a short brief to a designed first draft and you want to make targeted edits before exporting. It is less compelling to switch solely because of the under-five-minute framing: the concrete example is one six-slide deck, and the available evidence does not show that Moda is faster across comparable prompts, revisions, or costs.

Choose based on the file your audience needs. A finished PDF favors a reliable export and readable pages; a collaborative handoff may call for PPTX or Google Slides; a design-led workflow may benefit from Canva’s template-and-drag approach. In each case, inspect the actual export and budget for human review before calling the deck finished.
