Hume’s US page advertised Band 2.0 for a one-time $249 as of October 8, 2026, and says its core scores and data do not require a subscription. Its page also advertises a 45-day trial; promotional terms may change. Optional paid premium coaching and reports are available, so check what is included in the offer you see.

Oura charges for the ring and separately lists US membership at $5.99 monthly or $69.99 annually before tax, as of October 8, 2026. Other regions have different rates. The annual option is not the ring price: add the current hardware price and the membership cost for the years you expect to keep using the membership features. For example, the membership portion alone at the listed US annual rate would be $69.99 for one year or $209.97 for three years, before tax; these totals assume the rate stays unchanged.

That makes Hume the simpler choice if avoiding a recurring fee for core tracking is important. Oura may still be worth paying for if its ring form and membership-linked feature set fit what you want. Compare the actual checkout totals for your region and intended ownership period rather than treating either device’s hardware price as the whole cost.
Band or ring: which will you actually wear?
Hume is worn on the wrist
Hume describes Band 2.0 as screenless, designed for continuous wear, and built with a flexible soft strap. Its listed water resistance is IP68, up to 1 meter for up to 2 hours. A wrist band is the more natural fit if you do not want a ring, though the product information does not establish comfort for every wearer.

Oura requires a properly sized ring
Oura Ring 4 is titanium and comes in sizes 4–15. Oura says ring sizing differs between generations and recommends using the Ring 4 sizing kit; do not assume a sizer from another Oura generation will give the right fit. The ring is listed as water resistant to 100 meters. Those specifications do not guarantee that a ring will suit every hand or activity.
What each device says it tracks
Hume Band 2.0
Hume lists sleep stages, heart-rate variability (HRV), resting heart rate, blood oxygen (SpO2), skin temperature, activity, recovery, and blood-pressure trend insights. It describes five LEDs and four photodiodes in the band. Treat this as a list of manufacturer-stated features, not proof that every measure is equivalent to a clinical instrument.

Oura Ring 4
Oura’s Ring 4 specifications describe red and infrared LEDs for blood-oxygen sensing, green and infrared LEDs for heart rate and HRV, a digital temperature sensor, and an accelerometer. Oura associates an active membership with detailed sleep analysis, 24/7 heart-rate tracking, temperature monitoring, blood-oxygen sensing, stress, activity detection, and other software features. The ring’s feature set is therefore tied in part to whether you maintain membership.
Battery life: manufacturer claims, not a head-to-head result
Hume advertises up to 14 days per charge. Oura says Ring 4 typically lasts 5–8 days, with battery life varying by ring size, settings, feature configuration, activity, battery age, and use. Both numbers come from the manufacturers, and “up to” is a maximum claim rather than a guaranteed everyday result. They do not establish which lasts longer under identical settings and use.

What to know about health claims and accuracy
Hume’s blood-pressure feature is for trends
Hume explicitly characterizes its blood-pressure output as a directional wellness trend, not a cuff replacement or diagnosis. The company recommends a validated cuff for medical readings and consulting a clinician for medical decisions. Do not use the band’s trend output to diagnose or manage hypertension.

Neither product is established as the more accurate one
Hume uses accuracy and validation language on its product page, but the material presented there does not provide a specific study, protocol, named independent investigator, or result sufficient to compare performance. Oura describes Smart Sensing and research-grade sensors, but its specifications page is not an independent head-to-head validation. The available evidence does not support declaring either device more accurate.

Choose Hume Band 2.0 if
- You prefer a wrist band over a ring.
- You want core scores and data without a required ongoing subscription.
- You value Hume’s advertised up-to-14-day battery life, while understanding that it is a manufacturer maximum claim.
- You are interested in blood-pressure trends as a wellness signal and will use a validated cuff for medical readings.
