Choose the Huawei Watch GT 7 Pro if long battery life, Android support, and frequent outdoor or sports use matter most. Choose the Apple Watch Series 10 if you use an iPhone and want Apple’s tightly integrated health, safety, notification, and emergency features. Huawei claims up to 21 days of battery life (12 days typical, seven days with the always-on display enabled), while Apple rates Series 10 for up to 18 hours of normal use or 36 hours in Low Power Mode. Those figures come from different manufacturer test methods, so they show the endurance gap directionally rather than proving a laboratory-equivalent result.
The compatibility decision is decisive: Huawei specifies Android 9.0 or later and iOS 13.0 or later; Apple requires an iPhone XS or later, including iPhone SE (second generation or later), running iOS 18 or later. An Apple Watch Series 10 is therefore not an Android watch, while the GT 7 Pro can be used with either major phone platform subject to Huawei’s stated requirements.
Huawei Watch GT 7 Pro vs Apple Watch Series 10 at a glance
Both watches combine optical heart-rate monitoring, exercise tracking, sleep-related features, and smartphone connectivity, but they prioritize different ownership experiences. The GT 7 Pro’s headline advantage is endurance: its maximum and typical figures are measured in days. Series 10 is designed around daily charging, with faster top-ups and a Low Power Mode that can extend the stated runtime.

Which phone ecosystem should you use?
Android phones
The GT 7 Pro is the relevant choice for an Android owner because Huawei lists support for Android 9.0 or later. Before buying, check the exact Android version on the phone you intend to pair and confirm that the required Huawei companion software is available in your country’s app store. Features can also depend on permissions for notifications, location, Bluetooth, health data, and background activity.
Series 10 is not an Android-compatible watch under Apple’s stated requirements. Even if an Android phone supports Bluetooth accessories from other manufacturers, that does not make it a supported Apple Watch host. An Android user should remove Series 10 from the shortlist rather than treating compatibility as a feature that might be added later.
iPhone users
Both watches can be considered by an iPhone owner, but their minimum software requirements differ. Huawei specifies iOS 13.0 or later. Apple specifies an iPhone XS or later, including iPhone SE (second generation or later), with iOS 18 or later. If the iPhone is older than the Apple requirement, Series 10 is ruled out even if the phone can run a newer version of iOS than the watch originally shipped with.
For an iPhone user, the practical choice is less about basic pairing and more about how much of each ecosystem you want. Series 10 is the native Apple Watch experience. The GT 7 Pro can provide cross-platform flexibility and longer endurance, but the available interactions and health-data integration should be checked for the specific iPhone model, iOS release, region, and Huawei software version before purchase.
A simple compatibility check
- Write down the exact phone model and operating-system version.
- Compare it with the watch maker’s minimum requirement: Android 9.0 or later and iOS 13.0 or later for GT 7 Pro; iPhone XS or later (or iPhone SE, second generation or later) with iOS 18 or later for Series 10.
- Check that the manufacturer’s companion app is offered in your region and that your phone allows Bluetooth, notifications, location, and background operation.
- Confirm any region-dependent health or safety feature before paying, particularly ECG, blood oxygen, irregular-rhythm, and sleep-apnea functions.
Battery life: multi-day endurance versus daily charging
What Huawei’s numbers mean
Huawei’s specification wording says the GT 7 Pro battery can last “up to 21 days at most, up to 12 days given typical usage, or up to 7 days with AOD enabled, and up to 51 hours in the trail running mode.” The four numbers describe different test or usage conditions, not four guarantees that apply simultaneously. The 21-day figure is a maximum; 12 days is the typical-use figure supplied by Huawei; seven days assumes the always-on display is enabled; and 51 hours refers specifically to trail-running mode.

This pattern makes the GT 7 Pro suitable for people who dislike frequent charging, travel for several days, or want to keep sleep tracking running without taking the watch off every night. Always-on display use and long GPS-heavy workouts narrow the gap, so the typical and mode-specific figures are more useful for planning than the headline maximum.
What Apple’s numbers mean
Apple rates Series 10 for “up to 18 hours of normal use” and “up to 36 hours in Low Power Mode.” Apple also says the watch can reach 80 percent charge in about 30 minutes, and that an eight-minute charge can provide up to eight hours of sleep tracking. These are different benefits: Series 10 does not match the GT 7 Pro’s multi-day endurance claim, but a short charging session can be enough to cover a night of sleep tracking or restore most of the battery quickly.
Low Power Mode is an endurance setting, not an identical substitute for normal operation. Depending on what the mode changes, some functions may be reduced or behave differently. Treat the 36-hour figure as Apple’s stated Low Power Mode maximum, not as the expected runtime for every feature at full availability.
Which charging pattern fits you?
| If your priority is… | Better fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Charging once a week or less often | GT 7 Pro | Huawei’s typical-use claim is up to 12 days, with up to seven days when the always-on display is enabled. |
| Leaving the watch on during sleep with minimal planning | GT 7 Pro | Longer stated endurance leaves more margin for overnight wear, workouts, and notifications. |
| Restoring a large percentage during a short break | Series 10 | Apple claims about 80 percent in 30 minutes. |
| Quickly preparing for one night of sleep tracking | Series 10 | Apple says eight minutes of charging can provide up to eight hours of sleep tracking. |
| Long trail-running sessions | Depends on usage | Huawei gives a 51-hour trail-running-mode claim, while Apple’s cited specifications provide daily-use and Low Power Mode figures rather than a directly comparable trail-running number. |
Neither maker’s figure should be treated as a universal test result. Display brightness, always-on behavior, workout duration, notifications, wireless conditions, temperature, and software settings can materially change runtime. Compare the claims as guidance for charging frequency, not as a promise of identical real-world conditions.
Health tracking: sensor breadth versus integrated health and safety tools
GT 7 Pro hardware and tracking emphasis
Huawei lists a broad sensor set for the GT 7 Pro: optical heart rate, ECG, temperature, accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, barometer, ambient light, and depth sensors. That combination supports heart-related readings, motion and orientation detection, environmental measurements, and sports or outdoor use. The barometer and related motion sensors are particularly relevant when elevation and movement are part of an activity, while the depth sensor aligns with the watch’s stated free-diving capability.

The GT 7 Pro’s long battery also changes how health data can be collected. A watch that can remain worn for several days may be easier to keep on during sleep, recovery periods, and multi-day trips. That is a usage advantage rather than proof that any one measurement is more accurate than the other watch’s measurement.
Series 10 health features
Apple lists ECG, blood oxygen, heart-rate and irregular-rhythm notifications, sleep stages, sleep-apnea notifications, heart-rate variability, wrist-temperature tracking, and Vitals. It also lists Emergency SOS, fall detection, and crash detection. These features place Series 10’s value in the combination of measurements, trend views, notifications, and safety workflows inside Apple’s device ecosystem.
The presence of a feature on the specification page does not mean that every function is available in every country. Apple states that health measurements such as blood oxygen, temperature, and Vitals have wellness purposes or other stated limitations, and availability can vary by region and law. Check the local product page and regulatory availability before relying on a particular function.
ECG and other measurements are not diagnoses
An ECG-capable watch can record an electrical signal for supported checks, but neither watch should be treated as a medical diagnostic device. Heart-rate alerts, rhythm notifications, temperature trends, blood-oxygen readings, sleep metrics, and Vitals can be affected by fit, skin contact, motion, device position, software, and other conditions. Use them as wellness or screening information within the maker’s stated limits, and seek professional medical advice for symptoms or clinical decisions.
Safety features and everyday assistance
Series 10 has the clearer published emphasis on safety services. Apple lists Emergency SOS, fall detection, and crash detection alongside its health functions. Those services can matter more than an extra sensor for someone who spends time alone, has a higher fall risk, or wants emergency workflows tied to an iPhone. Their operation depends on device settings, connectivity, regional availability, and the conditions Apple describes.

The cited GT 7 Pro specification highlights sensors, sports tracking, ECG, and outdoor capability rather than an equivalent list of Apple-style emergency services. That does not make it unsuitable for exercise or wellness use; it means buyers should not assume that a Huawei sensor listing automatically includes the same emergency workflow as Series 10. If emergency notification is a deciding requirement, verify the exact feature list for the GT 7 Pro model and region before purchase.
Water resistance and outdoor use
GT 7 Pro
Huawei lists 5 ATM water resistance, IP69 protection, and free-diving support to 40 metres under stated conditions. The 40-metre figure is specifically associated with free diving, not a blanket permission for every underwater activity or environment. Follow Huawei’s activity restrictions and care instructions, especially after exposure to salt water, chemicals, rapid temperature changes, or impact.
Series 10
Apple lists Series 10 as swimproof to 50 metres and gives it an IP6X dust-resistance rating. Apple also states restrictions against scuba diving and high-velocity water activities. “50-metre swimproof” should therefore be read as a swimming-oriented rating, not as authorization for scuba, jetski spray, pressure washing, or any other high-force water exposure.
| Use case | GT 7 Pro specification | Series 10 specification | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pool or surface swimming | 5 ATM | 50-metre swimproof | Both publish swimming-related water protection, subject to each maker’s care guidance. |
| Free diving | Support to 40 metres under stated conditions | Not presented as supported; scuba diving is restricted | GT 7 Pro has the explicit free-diving claim, but conditions and limits still apply. |
| Dust | IP69 | IP6X | These are different rating systems and should not be reduced to a single “more rugged” score. |
| High-velocity water | Follow Huawei’s restrictions | Apple specifically restricts high-velocity water activities | Do not infer permission from a water-resistance number alone. |
Which watch has better health tracking?
There is no universal winner because “better” depends on whether you value sensor coverage, integrated safety, or continuous wear. The GT 7 Pro lists more types of physical sensors, including barometer, ambient-light, and depth sensors, and its longer endurance can make continuous wear easier. Series 10 lists a more extensive set of named health and safety services, including sleep-apnea notifications, irregular-rhythm notifications, Vitals, Emergency SOS, fall detection, and crash detection.

Decision guide by reader profile
You use Android
Pick the GT 7 Pro, assuming the phone runs Android 9.0 or later and the required Huawei software is available in your region. Series 10 does not meet Apple’s stated Android compatibility model.
You use an iPhone and hate charging
Pick the GT 7 Pro if iOS 13.0 or later is supported on your phone and its available features meet your needs. Huawei’s up-to-12-day typical-use claim and up-to-seven-day always-on-display claim provide a much longer charging interval than Apple’s 18-hour normal-use rating.
You use an iPhone and prioritize emergency functions
Pick Series 10 after confirming that the required iPhone, iOS version, and regional availability apply to you. Its published list includes Emergency SOS, fall detection, and crash detection in addition to health notifications.

Both watches publish outdoor and water-resistance credentials, but they emphasize different activities. GT 7 Pro explicitly lists free diving to 40 metres under stated conditions and provides a 51-hour trail-running-mode claim. Series 10 lists 50-metre swimproof protection and IP6X dust resistance, with restrictions against scuba diving and high-velocity water activities. Match the watch to the exact activity rather than choosing on the depth number alone.
You want reliable overnight tracking
GT 7 Pro’s longer endurance reduces the need to remove it for charging. Series 10 can still support a charging routine: Apple claims eight hours of sleep tracking after an eight-minute charge, provided the watch reaches that stated result under Apple’s conditions.
Buying and setup checks that prevent disappointment
- Confirm the phone first. Check the model and operating-system requirement before comparing health features.
- Check regional availability. ECG, blood oxygen, temperature-related functions, Vitals, rhythm notifications, and sleep-apnea notifications may be limited by country or law.
- Plan your charging routine. GT 7 Pro is suited to infrequent charging; Series 10 requires a more regular routine but offers rapid top-ups.
- Read the activity restrictions. Water-resistance ratings do not automatically cover scuba, high-velocity water, or every depth and pressure condition.
- Allow the required permissions. Notifications, health data, location, Bluetooth, and background operation can affect pairing and tracking on either platform.
- Wear the watch consistently. Fit, skin contact, motion, and placement influence sensor readings and sleep or workout records.
- Treat health outputs as wellness information. Use a clinician for diagnosis, treatment, or urgent symptoms rather than relying on a watch reading.
Bottom line: pick the one that matches your phone and charging tolerance
The Huawei Watch GT 7 Pro is the stronger endurance choice and the only one of these two that fits an Android phone. Its claimed battery range—up to 21 days maximum, 12 days typical, seven days with always-on display, and 51 hours in trail-running mode—also favors continuous wear and long outdoor sessions. Its sensor list is broad, and Huawei explicitly includes free-diving support to 40 metres under stated conditions.
The Apple Watch Series 10 is the stronger fit for an iPhone owner who values Apple’s integrated health and safety stack. Its published features include ECG, heart and rhythm notifications, sleep stages, sleep-apnea notifications, Vitals, Emergency SOS, fall detection, and crash detection. The trade-off is a shorter stated battery cycle—up to 18 hours normally or 36 hours in Low Power Mode—balanced by charging to 80 percent in about 30 minutes and an eight-minute sleep-tracking charge claim.
Make the phone-ecosystem decision first, then decide whether you prefer multi-day endurance or rapid daily charging. Finally, verify regional health availability and the water-activity restrictions for the exact model you intend to use.
