Colorlib’s 2026 roundup title says “22,” but its contents show one uiCookies collection described as eight templates plus Bootstrap Footer V01 through V20—21 listed entries, not 22 individually counted templates. The options span framework-free HTML/CSS and Bootstrap-oriented designs, from minimal link rows to multi-column footers with calls to action, newsletter forms, contact details, social feeds, or app-download buttons. Treat the feature descriptions below as Colorlib’s descriptions, not independent compatibility or accessibility tests. See Colorlib’s roundup and downloads.
Which footer template should you choose?
Start with what the footer must do, then match its size and dependencies to your site. A footer with more sections is not automatically better: each column, form, or feed adds content to maintain and may add integration work.
| Site need | Template direction | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| A few essential links and copyright information | One-line or minimal footer | Whether the links remain readable and usable on narrow screens. |
| Brand information and several navigation groups | Multi-column footer | How columns wrap or stack on small screens, and whether the groups are still easy to scan. |
| A specific action, such as signup or an app download | CTA, newsletter, or app-download footer | Whether the action is genuinely supported by a working destination or service. |
| Business contact information or a larger set of links | Contact-focused or mega-footer layout | Whether the extra material belongs on every page and can be kept current. |
Colorlib’s examples also vary in visual treatment, including dark, light, and colorful designs. Choose a treatment that fits the rest of the site rather than assuming a particular color or column count is inherently more effective.
What the Colorlib roundup includes
The roundup groups a framework-free uiCookies collection alongside 20 numbered Bootstrap Footer examples. The uiCookies collection is described as eight single-file HTML templates with inline CSS and no framework requirement. That is a collection count, not eight separately enumerated entries in the page’s contents. Colorlib describes the Bootstrap entries as Bootstrap-ready, but some are also described as not needing Bootstrap files. Check the downloaded markup and assets instead of relying on the roundup label alone.

| Example or group | Described layout or feature | Practical fit and integration note |
|---|---|---|
| uiCookies collection | Eight framework-free, single-file HTML examples with inline CSS; the range includes a four-column footer, one-line footer, dark SaaS footer, CTA, newsletter, and ecommerce mega-footer. | Worth considering when you want a self-contained starting point. Verify the downloaded file’s styling and behavior in your own layout. |
| Bootstrap Footer V01 | Dark CTA and link-column layout; Colorlib says it does not use JavaScript. | Consider for a site that needs both a prominent action and grouped links; confirm its actual framework dependencies. |
| Bootstrap Footer V03 | Minimal single-row layout. | A fit for a short set of links rather than a large navigation structure. |
| Bootstrap Footer V06 | Includes app-store download buttons. | Use only if those destinations and the associated app offering are relevant to the site. |
| Bootstrap Footer V10 | Prioritizes newsletter signup. | The form needs a connected email service or server-side handling; the visual form alone does not process signups. |
| Bootstrap Footer V11 | News-and-links mega-footer; Colorlib says it uses a few lines of vanilla JavaScript for tooltips. | Consider when a large footer is justified, and review the added script and tooltip behavior. |
| Bootstrap Footer V18 | Includes a contact form. | Submissions require a connected service or server-side handling; verify the destination and feedback shown to users. |
| Bootstrap Footer V20 | Business contact details above link columns. | Useful when contact information is a key part of the site’s footer; keep the details accurate. |
These are descriptions published by Colorlib’s roundup, not findings from a separate hands-on test. The available descriptions do not establish that every example is responsive, accessible, licensed for every intended use, or compatible with every Bootstrap version.
How to check dependencies, forms, and permissions
Inspect the actual files
Before integrating a downloaded snippet, inspect its HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and external assets. A design described as Bootstrap-ready may still include standalone styles or require particular framework utilities. Likewise, do not add Bootstrap files merely because a page is listed under a Bootstrap heading; confirm what the example actually uses and avoid loading a second framework copy if your site already has one.

Connect interactive features
A newsletter or contact form in a footer is only the interface. It needs a destination that accepts and handles submissions. Colorlib also notes that a social-feed example requires the reader to provide the feed backend. Do not publish a form or feed as though it works until its integration, error handling, and user-facing result are in place.

Preview the footer at narrow and wide viewport sizes. Check whether columns stack sensibly, long labels wrap, controls remain usable, and keyboard users can reach and understand links and form fields. A responsive appearance in a demo does not by itself establish accessibility.
Check the license attached to the files
Bootstrap’s official v5.2 examples page says Bootstrap code is MIT-licensed and its documentation is CC BY 3.0. Those statements apply to Bootstrap’s code and documentation, not automatically to third-party footer downloads. A footer that follows the content on long pages but reaches the viewport’s bottom when a page is short is a layout problem. It is different from fixing the footer over the bottom of the screen, which can cover page content.

Bootstrap’s official examples page, labeled Bootstrap v5.2 and identifying the documentation as v5.2.3, includes “Sticky footer” and “Sticky footer navbar” examples. The page describes the pattern as attaching a footer to the viewport bottom when page content is short. AdminLTE’s August 24, 2026 guide shows a flex-column approach in which the main content grows or the footer receives an automatic margin. Both sources describe layout patterns; neither establishes that every third-party template works with every Bootstrap release.
MDBootstrap documents a fixed-bottom option as well as responsive text-alignment examples for centering footer content on small screens. Fixed positioning is a different behavior from a short-page sticky layout: a fixed footer remains pinned to the viewport and can overlap content unless the page accounts for it. For further implementation patterns, AdminLTE’s 2026 footer guide also covers responsive columns, signup forms, app downloads, payment icons, trust badges, mobile accordions, and back-to-top controls.
Before you publish the footer
- Remove columns and actions that do not serve a real user need.
- Confirm whether the snippet needs Bootstrap, other assets, or JavaScript by inspecting its files.
- Test the layout at narrow and wide sizes, including long link labels and real page content.
- Make sure every form and feed has a working backend or service before presenting it as functional.
- Check keyboard access, visible focus, labels, and the destination of every link.
- Review the license for the exact downloaded files and the version of Bootstrap used by your site.
