The 2026 HP OmniBook Ultra 14 is genuinely portable, but it is a family of different Intel and Snapdragon laptops, not one fixed specification. In IT Pro’s hands-on with the UK entry-level Snapdragon X2P model, the aluminum-bodied laptop measured 10.7 mm thick and weighed 1.24 kg. It also delivered exceptional battery life in that publication’s video-loop test, though its reflective OLED screen and lack of USB-A and HDMI are practical trade-offs.
Those findings apply to IT Pro’s 10-core Snapdragon X2P-64-100 configuration with 16 GB of memory and a 512 GB SSD—not automatically to every OmniBook Ultra 14. HP also lists Intel versions, and other reviewers tested higher-spec Snapdragon models. Check the processor, screen, memory, storage, and ports for the exact SKU before comparing results or prices.
Which HP OmniBook Ultra 14 did IT Pro test?
IT Pro’s 2026 review covered the entry-level UK Snapdragon configuration: a 10-core Snapdragon X2P-64-100 processor, 16 GB of LPDDR5x memory, and a 512 GB Phison SSD. Its OLED touchscreen runs at 60 Hz. IT Pro describes an aluminum chassis with a plastic base plate, sculpted sides, and a solid feel. IT Pro’s review identifies this as one of several versions in the 2026 family.

Other results should not be blended with that unit. For example, Tom’s Hardware tested a Snapdragon X2 Elite X2E-90-100 configuration with 64 GB RAM, a 2 TB PCIe Gen 5 SSD, and a 120 Hz OLED touchscreen. HP’s US product page lists a separate Intel Core Ultra 7 356H SKU, 14-kd0047nr. These are meaningfully different configurations, not minor variations of IT Pro’s review sample.

How thin and light is the OmniBook Ultra 14?
IT Pro measured its Snapdragon X2P review unit at 311 × 215.6 × 10.7 mm and 1.24 kg. The reviewer says the sculpted sides make it feel thinner in hand. HP lists the Intel SKU 14-kd0047nr at 2.81 lb, but that is a separate configuration and HP listing, not IT Pro’s measurement. The numbers are not directly interchangeable because they refer to different SKUs and sources.
The compact dimensions and low weight make the X2P model easy to carry, while the review describes its chassis as solid-feeling. IT Pro notes that the memory and WLAN card are fixed; the M.2 SSD and battery can be replaced. That distinction matters if future upgrades or repairability are part of your purchase decision.
What is the screen like?
The X2P unit’s OLED screen impressed IT Pro for color, but its brightness and reflectivity limit where it is comfortable to use. In P3-D65 mode selected in HP’s control panel, IT Pro measured 162% sRGB color volume, 99.5% DCI-P3 coverage, and Delta E 1.1. It measured peak brightness at 285 nits, compared with HP’s 300-nit claim for that panel, and found the reflective surface problematic outdoors. Those measurements describe IT Pro’s review panel only.

HP’s separate Intel SKU has a different 3K, 120 Hz OLED display. HP rates that panel at 500 nits SDR, 1,100 nits HDR, and 100% DCI-P3. These are manufacturer specifications for 14-kd0047nr, not measurements of the IT Pro sample. HP’s Intel SKU page provides the listed specifications.
WIRED’s review, published June 23, 2026, praised the color-accurate OLED but also noted reflectivity. It reported 447 nits brightness and Delta-E 0.72 in its chosen color mode. The cited review information does not establish that its tested panel is the same SKU or uses the same method as IT Pro’s, so the figures should not be used as a direct panel-to-panel comparison. WIRED rated the laptop 8/10 and also flagged price and limited configuration choices as caveats. Read WIRED’s review.
How long does the battery last?
Battery life varies sharply with configuration and workload, so test results are useful only with their method and model attached. IT Pro’s Snapdragon X2P sample ran for 37 hours 15 minutes in its video rundown test, which looped video in VLC at 170 nits. That is an unusually strong result for that specific test, not a promise of 37 hours in ordinary mixed use.

Tom’s Hardware recorded 13 hours 27 minutes on its Snapdragon X2 Elite unit in a mixed-use test combining web browsing, video, and WebGL at 150 nits. Its workload differs from IT Pro’s continuous video loop, and its laptop had a different processor and configuration. The results therefore should not be read as a head-to-head battery comparison.
For Intel SKU 14-kd0047nr, HP lists a 70 Wh battery and estimates up to 20 hours 45 minutes of battery life, or up to 30 hours 15 minutes of video playback. Those are HP manufacturer estimates, not independent results from the cited hands-on reviews. Check HP’s product page for that model’s figures.

IT Pro’s X2P review unit has three 40 Gbps USB-C ports with DisplayPort 2.1 video output. It can charge from either side, but it has no USB-A or HDMI port. If your mouse, external display, or other equipment uses those connections, plan on a compatible USB-C hub or dock and check that it supports the display output, charging, and data speeds you need.

How fast is the OmniBook Ultra 14?
IT Pro recorded 3,157 single-core and 14,653 multi-core in Geekbench, 133 single-core and 973 multi-core in Cinebench R24, and 33,406 in 3DMark Night Raid on its Snapdragon X2P unit. These are results for that review configuration and those benchmarks, not guaranteed scores for the product family.

Tom’s Hardware measured 3,942 single-core and 20,075 multi-core in Geekbench 6 on its Snapdragon X2 Elite configuration. Since the processor, memory, and test configuration differ, the scores should not be treated as a controlled comparison with IT Pro’s results. The available review evidence points to different performance tiers within the range, rather than one universal OmniBook Ultra 14 benchmark profile.
Who should consider buying it?
The OmniBook Ultra 14 makes the most sense if you want a slim Windows laptop and are willing to choose carefully among configurations. The X2P model reviewed by IT Pro pairs low weight with a color-rich OLED and outstanding video-loop endurance, while the Intel SKU HP lists offers a higher-refresh display and Thunderbolt 4 ports. Reviews also praise the sleek design and performance; WIRED highlights speakers and battery life as strengths. Price, reflective screens, and configuration availability are important counterweights.
- Good fit: frequent travelers who value a lightweight, slim laptop and can choose a configuration with the performance and ports they need.
- Think twice: users who work outdoors or near bright windows and are sensitive to glare, especially if considering a panel like IT Pro’s measured X2P sample.
- Budget for connectivity: buyers who rely on USB-A accessories or HDMI displays should account for a hub or dock when selecting a model without those ports.
- Compare like for like: verify the processor, memory, SSD capacity, display, and regional SKU, then check the current local price and stock. The cited review price examples are dated context rather than current offers.
HP describes its Snapdragon-family design as “ultra-thin” and “ultra-light” and says it was tested against 20 MIL-STD tests. That is HP’s product claim; IT Pro’s review did not independently verify the test suite. HP’s Snapdragon family page contains the claim.
