HP announced the OmniBook 5 14 AI PC on October 1, 2026, with a U.S. starting price of $699.99 and expected October availability at HP.com and Best Buy. That is an announced price and retailer plan—not confirmation that either seller currently has it in stock. Check the live listing for the exact configuration and checkout price before buying.

Where to buy the HP OmniBook 5 14

HP named HP.com and Best Buy as expected U.S. retailers for the OmniBook 5 14 in October 2026. The announcement does not confirm current inventory, and it does not establish an Amazon listing. Follow these retailer links and verify that a product page is live before treating the laptop as available:

HP’s announced U.S. starting price is $699.99. It is a starting price, not a guarantee that every memory, storage, or display configuration will cost that amount. Check the selected SKU, seller, delivery or pickup status, and final checkout total.

What the $699.99 starting price does—and does not—tell you

HP’s launch announcement identifies the starting price and 2K OLED as the launch display option, but the price alone does not establish which configuration a retailer will offer for that amount. Tom’s Hardware reported launch configurations with 8GB or 16GB of soldered memory and 256GB or 512GB of storage, with 12GB memory and 1TB storage planned for November 2026. Treat those configurations as reported rather than confirmed retailer inventory; check the live product listing for the exact SKU. [Tom’s Hardware]

Which display is available at launch?

Launch option: 2K OLED

HP says the launch configuration has a 14-inch 2K OLED panel rated up to 300 nits. Confirm the display in the retailer’s selected configuration; the $699.99 starting price does not establish that a different or later panel is included.

Planned for March 2027: 2.5K OLED touchscreen

What HP means by a 42-hour battery

HP’s “up to 42 hours” figure comes from continuous local FHD video playback at 200 nits, played full-screen from local storage, with wireless enabled but not connected. It is not a prediction for everyday mixed use, and HP says actual battery life varies with configuration and usage. [HP announcement]

Other specifications to check on the listing

HP describes the OmniBook 5 14 as a consumer Windows laptop with up to an Intel Core 7 processor, integrated NPU capabilities, an FHD IR camera with Windows Hello, dual microphones, Poly Studio-tuned audio, DTS:X Ultra, a 180-degree hinge, and two full-function USB-C ports. HP also lists a 65W USB Mini GaN charger and four colors: Smoke Silver, Starlit Blue, Peony Pink, and Soft Honeydew. Tom’s Hardware reports Intel Core 5 320 and Core 7 350 processor options, integrated Intel graphics, a 60Wh battery, and a 2.56-pound weight. These are reported specifications; confirm them against the final regional listing for the model you intend to buy. [Tom’s Hardware]

Should you wait for a listing?

  • Buy the launch model if: a live HP.com or Best Buy page confirms a price and configuration that fit your needs, and the 2K OLED panel is the one you want.
  • Wait if: you specifically want the planned 2.5K OLED touchscreen, or you need a memory or storage option not confirmed on the listings you can currently find.
  • Compare with MacBook Neo if: your apps and peripherals work on macOS and you prefer its 13-inch Liquid Retina format. Compare actual configurations and workload needs rather than treating the two battery claims as a head-to-head result.
