PC Gamer reported on October 5, 2026, that HP US was selling the OMEN 35L GT16-1085m with an RTX 5080 and Ryzen 7 9800X3D for $2,799.99, down from a listed $4,999.99. Tom’s Hardware reported the same sale price on October 6. That makes this a notable recently reported offer—not a confirmed price or stock status for October 7. Check HP’s listing for the current price and availability before buying.
What was the reported deal?
The offer was for HP’s OMEN 35L Gaming Desktop GT16-1085m, product number C33HVAA#ABA. PC Gamer reported a $2,799.99 HP US sale price on October 5, 2026, against a former listed price of $4,999.99; Tom’s Hardware reported $2,799.99 again on October 6. Those are publisher-reported figures, not a live checkout quote, and the October 7 price and stock have not been verified.
The “Prime Day hasn’t even technically started” framing refers to HP’s reported offer appearing before Amazon’s event began. It does not mean Amazon offered this price: the cited seller was HP US. Nor does the available reporting establish that this was the lowest RTX 5080 desktop price across the market.

HP’s support specifications for the OMEN 35L GT16-1000a series also include the Ryzen 7 9800X3D and RTX 5080 among supported components; that series-level support page is not a substitute for the GT16-1085m’s product listing.
Is it a good gaming PC deal?
The reported configuration pairs a high-end RTX 5080 with the Ryzen 7 9800X3D and provides 32 GB of memory and a 2 TB SSD. Whether the reported price is worthwhile depends first on whether HP still offers it and whether the total at checkout suits your budget. Compare the exact GT16-1085m configuration—not another OMEN 35L with different parts—if you check other listings.

What should you check before ordering?
- Live price and stock: Confirm the price on HP’s product page and check that the listing is for GT16-1085m, product number C33HVAA#ABA.
- Configuration: Verify the processor, RTX 5080, 32 GB DDR5-6000 and 2 TB SSD on the checkout listing; similarly named desktops may differ.
- Cooling: The deal report specifies a 240 mm AIO. It suggests considering a 360 mm AIO only if the processor throttles, but does not establish that an upgrade is necessary or that a particular radiator will fit. Check case compatibility before buying cooling hardware.
