The HP EliteBook X Flip G2i is a 14-inch business convertible with a 360-degree hinge, but there is no single screen or specification set that applies to every version. Its appeal depends on the exact configuration: HP lists WUXGA LCD, 3K OLED, and Tandem OLED display options, while pen availability also varies by model. The US store’s featured high-end configuration pairs a Core Ultra X7 358H with 32 GB of onboard memory, a 1 TB SSD, and a 3K 120 Hz OLED touchscreen. HP’s specifications establish what is offered, not how the laptop performs in independent testing.

What the EliteBook X Flip G2i is designed to do

HP specifies a maximum hinge opening of 360 degrees, allowing the display to fold back into tablet-like orientation. HP describes laptop, tent, and tablet use for the device. That flexibility can suit presentations, touch interaction, and pen input, but whether the tablet mode is comfortable for extended use is a hands-on question.

HP’s US product page frames the convertible as a device for sketching in tablet mode, presenting in tent mode, and collaborating in PC mode. These are manufacturer-described use cases, not independent findings about comfort or usability. HP’s support specifications describe the hinge and configurations.

Which display configuration should you choose?

Do not assume every X Flip G2i has the same panel. HP’s support specifications list multiple touchscreen options, and the US store’s featured configuration is only one of them.

Panel option listed by HP Resolution and refresh rate Listed brightness
WUXGA LCD 1920 × 1200 400 or 800 nits, depending on variant
3K OLED 2880 × 1800; 120 Hz variable refresh 500 nits
3K Tandem OLED 2880 × 1800 700 nits

HP lists differences in finish, color gamut, low-blue-light details, and privacy features as well. The table’s values are manufacturer specifications, not display measurements. Before buying, check the exact SKU’s panel description rather than relying on a family-level product name.

The featured US store configuration is listed with a 14-inch 3K, 120 Hz, anti-glare OLED touchscreen rated at 500 nits and 100% DCI-P3. Other US listings include WUXGA touchscreen LCD models. Those descriptions are not interchangeable. HP’s US shop listing identifies the featured configuration and other available variants.

What the featured US configuration includes

HP’s US store lists a featured configuration with these specifications:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Windows 11 Pro and an Intel Core Ultra X7 358H processor, specified as 16 cores, 16 threads, and up to 4.8 GHz.
  • Intel AI Boost rated at 50 NPU TOPS and integrated Intel Arc B390 graphics. These are vendor specifications, not benchmark results.
  • 32 GB LPDDR5x-9600 onboard memory and a 1 TB PCIe Gen5 NVMe M.2 SSD.
  • Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.

HP also lists other G2i configurations, including Core Ultra 7 356H and Core Ultra 5 325 variants, with differing memory, storage, and displays. At least some memory is onboard; confirm the capacity you need at purchase instead of assuming it can be upgraded. The available specifications do not establish upgradeability for every component or SKU.

Ports, battery, and desk use

The featured US store configuration lists two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, one additional USB-C port, HDMI 2.1, a powered USB-A port, a combined headphone/microphone jack, and a nano security lock slot. HP recommends a Thunderbolt 4 dock as an accessory. A dock is optional; check the ports and display support for the specific laptop SKU and monitors before planning a desk setup.

That same listing specifies a 68 Wh battery and a 100 W USB-C GaN adapter. Battery capacity and adapter wattage do not establish runtime. No independent battery-life result for the exact X Flip G2i is established here, so use neither these specifications nor claims for another EliteBook model as a runtime estimate.

Does it include a pen?

Not necessarily. HP says its Nested Pen is available on select models, so check the listing’s included accessories and bundle before counting on one. HP’s support specification lists 30 seconds of charging time and up to 120 minutes of usage time for the pen; these are HP’s stated figures, not independently verified results.

HP Japan’s product announcement describes a built-in storage location for an active pen. Treat that as a regional product-description detail and verify it against the exact market configuration rather than assuming every version has the same pen storage. HP Japan’s announcement is dated January 22, 2026.

Camera and audio features

HP’s support specifications list a 5 MP infrared camera with a privacy shutter, Poly Studio audio, four integrated stereo speakers, dual-array microphones, and AI noise reduction. These features may matter for video calls, but the listed specifications do not establish webcam image quality, speaker sound, or microphone performance in practice.

Price and availability depend on region and configuration

HP Japan’s January 22, 2026 announcement gave a Japan starting price of ¥525,800 and a sales start date of February 6, 2026. Those figures describe the Japanese launch and do not establish current US pricing, current availability, or prices in other markets. Check the local HP listing for the current price and stock, and confirm the processor, display, memory, storage, warranty, and security bundle attached to that exact SKU.

Is the EliteBook X Flip G2i worth buying?

It is worth considering if you want a 14-inch business laptop that can fold into presentation and tablet-like positions, and you can identify a configuration whose panel, memory, storage, and included accessories fit your needs. The available specifications make the featured US X7 model a clearly defined high-end option, while the other listed processor and display variants mean the family name alone is not enough to judge value.

This is a configuration-aware assessment, not a hands-on review: no independent testing of the exact Flip model established measured performance, battery life, display quality, or the practical feel of its hinge, keyboard, speakers, or pen. A January 2026 TechRadar hands-on report concerns the related clamshell EliteBook X G2i, not this convertible; its observations and measurements should not be transferred to the X Flip. TechRadar’s report identifies the clamshell model.

What to verify before ordering

  • Confirm the exact SKU and panel type, resolution, refresh rate, brightness, finish, and privacy features.
  • Check the processor, onboard memory capacity, and SSD specification; do not assume memory is upgradeable.
  • Verify whether a Nested Pen is included and whether the chosen regional model provides pen storage.
  • Match the listed ports to your dock, monitors, and other peripherals.
  • Review the local price, stock, warranty, and security bundle for the precise configuration.
