The HP EliteBook X Flip G2i 14 AI is a 14-inch business convertible built for touch and 360-degree use, but its specifications depend on the configuration. Notebookcheck’s review of a Core Ultra 7 366H model with an OLED touchscreen found a strong display, useful port selection, good speakers, and an integrated stylus garage, alongside a potentially grainy matte-screen alternative, palm-rest warmth under load, and a narrow-feeling stylus. Those findings apply to the reviewed model, not every SKU.
What is the HP EliteBook X Flip G2i 14 AI?
It is a business laptop with a convertible hinge, letting the screen fold around for touch-first use and other modes. HP’s Japanese product page also shows a dedicated garage for an HP AES rechargeable pen. That combination suits people who regularly annotate, sketch, or work directly on the screen; it matters less if the laptop will stay in conventional clamshell mode.
HP sells multiple configurations, and the available processor, display, memory, storage, operating system, warranty, and bundled security can vary by market and SKU. Treat the name as a product family rather than a guarantee of one fixed specification sheet.
What are the HP EliteBook X Flip G2i specs?
HP’s US store lists Core Ultra 5, Core Ultra 7, and Core Ultra X7 options. The reviewed configuration is more specific: Notebookcheck tested a Core Ultra 7 366H model with an OLED touchscreen. Do not assume that processor or panel is standard across the lineup.

HP Japan’s product page depicts two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, an additional USB-C port, USB-A, and HDMI 2.1, as well as the pen garage. Check the local listing for the exact SKU before buying: the reviewed unit’s configuration and the ports or accessories shown for a regional product page should not be treated as a universal package.
The available evidence does not establish one universal screen resolution, refresh rate, brightness, memory capacity, or storage capacity for every configuration. Confirm those values on the listing for the exact model number, and distinguish a glossy OLED option from a matte panel option.

What did the review find?
Allen Ngo’s Notebookcheck review, published August 27, 2026, tested the Core Ultra 7 366H model with an OLED touchscreen. Its positives included the OLED display, port selection, speakers, and integrated stylus garage. The review’s assessment is specific to that tested configuration.

Display options
The reviewed OLED touchscreen was a strength. Notebookcheck also cautioned that the matte panel option could look grainy. Since panel type and finish vary, inspect the specification for the exact configuration rather than assuming the OLED review applies to a matte-screen SKU.

Heat and pen feel
Notebookcheck observed that the left palm rest could become warm under load on its tested unit. The reviewer also found the stylus narrow-feeling. These are practical considerations for sustained demanding work and frequent handwriting, but they are review observations rather than guarantees about every configuration or user.
Overall review verdict
Notebookcheck characterized the reviewed generation as an improvement over its predecessor in several areas, while noting that the matte panel could bother some users. That is the publisher’s conclusion about its tested model, not a verdict on every display or configuration.

Is the HP EliteBook X Flip G2i worth buying?
It is a plausible fit if you want a business convertible and will use the touchscreen, folding modes, or pen workflow. The reviewed OLED configuration’s positives may appeal to that buyer. If you prefer a matte screen, write extensively with the included stylus, or run sustained demanding workloads, pay particular attention to the panel finish, pen feel, and thermal observation in the review.

Price is a major part of the decision. Notebookcheck reported a price of about $3,000 for its review configuration at publication; that is a dated US reference, not a current price for every SKU. HP Japan announced a suggested retail starting price of ¥525,800 and a February 6, 2026 sale start for Japan. That is a regional launch reference, not a current global price, and HP says price and specifications may change.
Quick Recap
How to compare configurations before you buy
- Match the panel to your use. Verify OLED versus matte, along with resolution, refresh rate, and brightness for the specific SKU. The OLED review findings do not establish how every panel option performs.
- Check the processor tier. Compare the listed Core Ultra 5, Core Ultra 7, or Core Ultra X7 model. Notebookcheck’s observations came from the Core Ultra 7 366H configuration.
- Confirm memory and storage. These capacities vary across listings, so compare the actual SKU rather than relying on a family-level specification.
- Decide whether the convertible and pen features justify the choice. A 360-degree hinge and pen garage are useful for hands-on workflows; verify whether the rechargeable pen is included before ordering or buying one separately.
- Check ports, warranty, and local availability. Confirm the ports and bundled terms on your regional listing. If you need a dock or charger, verify its compatibility and power requirements for that exact configuration.
- Compare like with like. For another 14-inch business convertible, compare display resolution, technology, refresh rate and finish; processor and integrated graphics tier; memory and storage; pen storage and included accessories; sustained-load behavior; and the local price and warranty. A universal winner cannot be established without matching configurations and buyer needs.
