Hoxhunt Respond is a security-team tool for investigating suspicious emails reported by employees and coordinating removal of confirmed malicious messages. It analyzes and classifies reports, groups related reports into campaign-level incidents, and can help remove affected copies from inboxes. Hoxhunt positions it as a layer alongside existing email defenses, not a replacement for them.

What Hoxhunt Respond does

Respond is built around employee-reported suspicious email. Instead of treating each report as an isolated help-desk ticket, Hoxhunt says the product analyzes submissions, classifies them as malicious or safe, correlates similar reports into campaigns, and identifies messages that may need remediation across the organization. Its product description is available on Hoxhunt’s phishing email incident response automation page.

The practical goal is to move phishing-specific triage and correlation earlier in the response process. Hoxhunt says Respond can pass a higher-confidence signal into an organization’s existing SOAR or SIEM stack, where broader security workflows can continue.

How the investigation and removal workflow works

  1. An employee reports a suspicious email. Respond starts with a message reported by a user rather than relying only on mailbox-wide detection.
  2. The report is analyzed and classified. Hoxhunt says its system determines whether the reported email is malicious or safe.
  3. Related reports are correlated. Similar submissions can be grouped into a campaign-level incident, helping the security team see multiple reports as connected activity rather than duplicate cases.
  4. Messages are identified for remediation. After a malicious classification, Respond can help locate affected messages and remove them from impacted inboxes.

Hoxhunt’s Search & Destroy description adds a search-and-removal capability for related messages, including copies that employees did not report. Hoxhunt says administrators can review search results in a manual mode, and that deletion is a soft delete, preserving options to review or restore a message. These are vendor descriptions in its Summer Release 2025 announcement.

How Respond fits with Microsoft Defender and other tools

Hoxhunt describes Respond as complementary to Microsoft Defender: Defender and other existing defenses protect mail, while Respond focuses on suspicious messages that get through and are reported by employees. Hoxhunt also positions its phishing-focused classification and clustering ahead of existing SOAR or SIEM workflows, passing a signal onward rather than replacing those platforms.

That positioning matters when evaluating deployment. The product description presents Respond as part of an incident-response workflow, but the cited material does not establish a full list of supported integrations, configuration requirements, or licensing terms. Organizations should confirm those specifics with Hoxhunt for their own Microsoft 365 and security-stack setup.

What Hoxhunt’s published performance figures mean

Hoxhunt publishes several performance figures on its undated product page, as accessed in 2026. They are vendor claims; the page does not provide an independent validation methodology for them.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
Published figure How to interpret it
Up to 99% reduction in phishing tickets Hoxhunt’s product-page claim; no independent validation method is stated on the page.
Under 1 minute to remediate malicious campaigns Hoxhunt’s stated capability claim; the page does not describe a test protocol or conditions.
96% accuracy for malicious-email classification; more than 99% for safe-email classification Hoxhunt says classification is based on real employee-reported phishing data. The product page does not supply independent test methodology.
More than 5 million human sensors Hoxhunt’s description of its network, not an independently verified count in the cited material.

These numbers may help frame a vendor conversation, but they should not be read as guaranteed results for a particular organization. A useful evaluation should ask how Hoxhunt defines a ticket reduction, what populations and time periods support the classification figures, and what safeguards or review options apply before messages are removed.

What to check before choosing an incident-response product

  • Report handling: Does the tool investigate employee-submitted emails, detect threats across mailboxes independently, or do both?
  • Campaign correlation: Can it group duplicate or related reports so analysts can act on one incident rather than process each submission separately?
  • Review and confidence controls: Can administrators inspect findings before removal, and what triggers automated action?
  • Reversibility: Does deletion preserve a way to review or restore messages? Hoxhunt describes Search & Destroy as soft-deleting messages.
  • Integration fit: Confirm how the product works with the organization’s Microsoft 365 environment, Defender deployment, and SOAR or SIEM tools.
  • Evidence behind claims: Request the definitions, test conditions, and methodology behind accuracy, remediation-time, and ticket-reduction figures.

What Hoxhunt says is changing

The “expansion” is best understood in the context of Hoxhunt’s product updates, not as a claim that every capability launched at once. Hoxhunt described Search & Destroy in its 2025 Summer Release, then announced Incident Orchestration for reported-threat workflows in a July 22, 2026 update. The latter announcement is available at Hoxhunt’s Incident Orchestration announcement. The releases provide product context; they are not independent evidence of performance.

Customer perspective

Greg Petersen, Senior Director of IT Security at Avanade, said: “Hoxhunt is bringing the power of human intelligence into the SOC. The Response platform’s AI makes human threat detection an integral part of the whole stack while reducing the burden on the SOC team.” Hoxhunt reproduces this customer statement on its product page; it is a customer perspective, not an independent performance study.
