Zaccharie Risacher believes his off-ball game can complement Cooper Flagg and the Dallas Mavericks’ fast, physical style. That is his training-camp assessment—not evidence yet of established chemistry or a settled role.
What Risacher says about his fit with Dallas
In a report listed by NBA.com on October 2, 2026, Risacher described his adjustment after joining Dallas from Atlanta and said he expects to mesh with Flagg. NBA.com reproduced his explanation: “I feel like we’re going to be a good fit, especially in this team. We’re going to play fast. We want to go,” said Risacher. “We’re going to play physical, and I feel like that’s going to be a good fit. I like to play off-ball too, so I feel like just me being able to get to the right spot, get space, and finish those actions, that’s going to be a big thing.”
The report was published by CBS Sports on October 1 as a RotoWire item, attributing the report to Grant Afseth of the Dallas Sports Journal. Risacher’s comments describe what he thinks can work; they do not confirm a particular lineup or demonstrate on-court chemistry.

How his off-ball approach could complement Flagg
Finding space and finishing
Risacher’s clearest fit argument is that he does not need to initiate every possession. If Flagg or another teammate creates an advantage with the ball, Risacher says he can move into a useful spot, create space, and finish the action. That could make his contribution complementary rather than duplicative, but the report does not establish how often Dallas will use him this way.

Transition opportunities
Risacher’s emphasis on playing fast has some historical context: NBA.com’s 2024–25 Week 7 coverage described transition scoring and off-ball movement as strengths during his time in Atlanta. In the specific three-game winning streak covered there, 15 of his 42 points came in transition. That is a narrow snapshot from Atlanta, not a projection of his production or role with Dallas.
Physical style
Risacher also said he expects the Mavericks to play physically. His view suggests he sees that style as compatible with his game, but the source does not provide game evidence showing how the fit will play out.

Risacher’s current Mavericks details
NBA.com’s current roster, accessed October 3, 2026, lists Risacher as a 6-foot-8, 200-pound Dallas forward wearing No. 10. It records his acquisition from Atlanta on July 19, 2026. These roster details establish his listed team and position; they do not indicate his place in the rotation.

The available reports do not establish whether Risacher will start, how many minutes he will play, or how his chemistry with Flagg will look in regular-season games. Those questions require evidence from preseason or regular-season play. For now, the strongest supported conclusion is narrower: Risacher believes his off-ball positioning and finishing can suit the way Dallas intends to play.
