“Day one” means a selected game is available through an eligible Xbox Game Pass plan on its launch day. It does not mean every game announced for Game Pass is included at launch, or that every plan, platform, and region gets the same access.

Which Game Pass plans include day-one games?

On Xbox’s US Game Pass page as displayed October 7, 2026, the plans differ as follows. These terms are market-specific and can change, so check the Xbox page for your region.

#	Preview	Product	Price
1 $50 XBOX Gift Card [Digital Code]	$50.00	Buy on Amazon
2 $10 XBOX Gift Card [Digital Code]	$10.00	Buy on Amazon
3 $100 XBOX Gift Card [Digital Code]	$100.00	Buy on Amazon
4 $20 XBOX Gift Card [Digital Code]	$20.00	Buy on Amazon
5 Xbox Physical Gift Card	$25.00	Buy on Amazon

Xbox’s US plan page describes the benefits and qualifications. Availability can also vary by title, region, platform, and time, so a plan’s general benefit is not a guarantee that a particular game is available on every device.

How to tell whether a particular game is day one

Look at the individual game entry, not just the headline of a Game Pass roundup. Official Xbox Wire posts can list a mix of launch-day games and other additions, each with its own date, platforms, and plan information.

1. Find the game in an official “Coming to Xbox Game Pass” roundup.
2. Check the entry for its release date, supported platforms, and eligible plans.
3. Look for explicit wording such as “Available day one with Xbox Game Pass!” An entry without that label should not be assumed to be a day-one release.
4. Check the current Game Pass catalog or the Xbox app for your region and platform before relying on the announcement.

For example, Xbox Wire’s May 5, 2026 roundup listed Forza Horizon 6 for May 19 on Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, handheld, and PC, with Ultimate and PC Game Pass, and marked it “Available day one with Xbox Game Pass!” The same roundup marked Mixtape, dated May 7, as day one, while other entries had different availability details. The July 21, 2026 roundup also identified selected day-one games and gave title-specific dates, platforms, and plans.

Read the May 5, 2026 Xbox Wire roundup or the July 21, 2026 roundup to see how those entries are presented.

Where to find upcoming announcements

Xbox Wire Game Pass roundups

These dated posts are the most direct place to check announced additions. Each title’s entry can provide its launch or availability date, platforms, eligible plans, and day-one wording. Use the title-specific details rather than assuming every game in a roundup launches on day one.

Official Xbox showcase recaps

Showcase recaps can reveal day-one plans earlier. In its April 23, 2026 ID@Xbox Spring Showcase recap, Xbox marked games including Aphelion and Beastro as day one with Game Pass and gave planned platforms or launch windows. These are announcements, and schedules may change; check a later dated roundup for updated timing.

Why an announcement may not match what you can play

• Plan: The title may be day one only for an eligible plan, or its listed plan may not be yours.
• Platform: A game’s entry may list only some platforms; day-one access does not imply support on every device.
• Region: Xbox’s plan terms and catalog can differ by market. The plan comparison above reflects the US page as displayed October 7, 2026.
• Timing: A showcase can describe a planned window, while a later roundup gives a more specific date. Announced schedules can change.
• Catalog changes: An announcement is not a permanent availability promise. Check the current local listing when you are ready to play.
