uBreakiFix accepts walk-ins and online appointments, but a same-day repair is not guaranteed. The company advertises free phone diagnostics; its FAQ says complicated troubleshooting can cost $39.99 to $59.99, with the fee disclosed beforehand and applied to the repair if you proceed. Here is how its published process works—and what the available account of two broken phones does and does not establish about an actual visit.
What happened to the two phones?
The account identifies two broken phones taken to uBreakiFix, but it does not specify their models, problems, diagnoses, quoted prices, repair times, interactions with staff, or outcomes. Those details cannot be filled in from the company’s general policies. The published process below can help set expectations, but it is not evidence of what happened to either phone.
How to start a uBreakiFix phone repair
uBreakiFix says customers can walk into a store or schedule online. Its smartphone diagnostic services page describes store diagnostics and repair; the company also says it serves customers in most markets beyond the store. Check with your local location to confirm which services are available where you live.

What diagnostics may cost
The smartphone service page advertises free diagnostics. The company FAQ adds an important qualification: more complicated diagnostic tests may cost $39.99 to $59.99. The FAQ says staff will tell you about a fee beforehand and apply it to the repair if you choose to proceed.

The FAQ also says staff may offer a ballpark price range before examining a phone but avoid a firm quote until they have inspected it. Ask what the diagnostic includes, whether an additional fee applies, and what the repair would cost before authorizing work.
How long a repair may take
uBreakiFix says most phone repairs are completed as soon as the same day. That is a general company claim, not a promise for every phone, fault, store, or visit. The FAQ says repairs can take longer depending on parts availability and that the company will update customers about status and timing.

What to do before dropping off your phone
uBreakiFix recommends backing up your data and removing the phone’s case and accessories before service. As the company puts it in its FAQ, “Before you head in with your device, we recommend backing up your data and removing cases or accessories.”

A location page says iPhone customers may be asked to disable the passcode and Find My setting so diagnostic tests can run. Treat that as a possible request, not a universal requirement: ask the store what access it needs, and understand the implications before changing security settings.

What the repair warranty covers
uBreakiFix advertises a one-year limited warranty on repairs. Its FAQ says the warranty does not cover liquid-damage repairs or work performed under an OEM warranty or another coverage plan; those repairs are governed by the applicable plan’s terms. Ask which warranty applies to your specific repair and keep the service documentation.

Pixel phones
Google lists Asurion or uBreakiFix as U.S. repair partners for Pixel phones, with mail-in and walk-in options for out-of-warranty repairs. Available routes depend on the device, warranty status, and location. Google’s authorized repair partner information and repair options guidance can help identify routes; its walk-in repair instructions say the partner checks warranty status and can complete many repairs the same day. Verify eligibility for your model and location rather than assuming every warranty claim follows the same process.
