What MyToronto Pay does
MyToronto Pay is a City of Toronto digital payment service delivered in partnership with PayIt. It launched in January 2022 for property-tax and utility-bill payments; the City later added parking-violation payments, electronic billing and pre-authorized-payment features. The City describes the platform and its services at MyToronto Pay.

How to pay a Toronto bill online
- Open the City’s MyToronto Pay page and choose the bill or service you need to pay.
- Enter the number or numbers requested from your bill: the tax roll number for property tax, or the utility account and client numbers for a utility bill.
- Choose whether to pay immediately or schedule a future payment, then select a payment method.
- Review the amount, payment date and any service fee before confirming. Save the receipt or check your email for the confirmation.
For any bill, the payment must reach the City before the end of its due date to avoid late fees and penalties. Due dates differ by bill and installment plan; use the date on your current bill rather than assuming a standard deadline.
MyToronto Pay fees and payment methods
| Payment method | MyToronto Pay fee | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Electronic funds transfer from a bank account | No fee | Use this option to avoid a payment-card service fee. |
| Credit card | 2.35% | The City’s 2024 notice lists Visa, Mastercard and American Express as accepted credit-card networks. Confirm current availability and the fee before paying. |
| Debit card | 1.5% | Review the displayed total before submitting. |
The card fees are percentages of the payment amount, so the additional cost increases with the bill. If you are deciding between a card and a bank-account transfer, compare the displayed total before confirming rather than assuming a card payment is free.
