Yes, you can usually keep watching NFL games abroad, but the correct route depends on where your subscription was purchased and the country you are visiting. U.S. subscribers traveling outside the United States should check DAZN’s NFL Travel Pass availability. Subscribers who bought an international NFL Game Pass can use DAZN’s Global Portability feature, subject to destination restrictions. Neither option guarantees identical live coverage everywhere: local broadcasting rights can create blackouts, and the United States, Canada and China are specifically excluded from the travel and portability descriptions.

Confirm the exact destination in your account before leaving, review that week’s blackout notice, sign in and test playback at home, and do not use a VPN to create a subscription from a false country. A compatible phone, computer or streaming device can display an authorized stream, but no device can remove a country restriction or blackout.

Which option applies to your trip?

Start with two facts: where you bought NFL Game Pass and where you will be when you watch. “International” access is not one universal rights package, so the same account may behave differently in different countries.

Subscription situation Official route described Important limits
American with a U.S.-based account traveling outside the U.S. DAZN NFL Travel Pass DAZN describes coverage in more than 200 countries, but excludes the United States, Canada and China. Availability and live rights still need to be checked for the destination and date.
Subscriber who purchased an international NFL Game Pass DAZN Global Portability DAZN describes worldwide use with exceptions, including the United States, Canada and China. Regional rights can still affect individual games.
Traveler relying on a local broadcaster Destination broadcaster or free-to-air service The selection may be limited to games licensed in that market rather than every NFL game.
Traveler trying to change location with a VPN Not an official solution DAZN says VPN-based signup from another country violates its terms and is blocked by its technology.

DAZN’s product pages do not state a universal price, a complete country-by-country rights table or identical eligibility rules for every itinerary. Treat “over 200 countries” as the stated scope of the Travel Pass description, not as a promise that every game is live in every one of those countries.

U.S. subscribers: use NFL Travel Pass outside the United States

DAZN describes NFL Travel Pass as the route for Americans traveling outside the United States. Its product description says the pass provides access to DAZN’s international NFL Game Pass product in more than 200 countries, with the United States, Canada and China excluded. The description includes every NFL game, the playoffs and Super Bowl, RedZone, NFL Network, highlights and NFL Films documentaries.

That list describes the product’s content scope. It does not override local rights. A game can be part of the international product while being unavailable live in a particular territory, offered only on demand, or subject to a newly introduced regional restriction. Check the country selector, account help information and the current game listing before your trip.

What “outside the U.S.” means in practice

Travel Pass is intended for a U.S.-based viewer who is temporarily abroad. It is not described as a way to watch from the United States, Canada or China. If your itinerary includes more than one country, check each stop separately; a pass that works in one destination does not establish rights in the next.

What you can expect to watch

The stated package is broader than a local television schedule: it is designed to include live games, postseason games, the Super Bowl, RedZone, NFL Network and on-demand programming. The word “includes” should not be read as a guarantee that every listed item is live at every location. The destination’s rights rules remain decisive.

International Game Pass subscribers: understand Global Portability

DAZN separately describes Global Portability for people who already subscribe to international NFL Game Pass. The feature is intended to let a subscriber use the account while traveling, but DAZN names the United States, Canada and China among excluded locations.

Check the account’s purchase country and the current destination before departure. An international subscription purchased legitimately in one market is different from attempting to subscribe as though you lived somewhere else. If your trip enters an excluded country, portability may not be available there even if playback worked in your home market.

Do not create an account through a VPN

DAZN states: “Using a VPN to subscribe to NFL GPI from another country is against DAZN’s terms and conditions and will be blocked by our technology.” Do not select a false billing country, borrow another person’s address or use a VPN as a subscription workaround. That approach can result in blocked signup or playback and does not create lawful rights to a game.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Why an international subscription can still show a blackout

Streaming rights are licensed by territory. A service can carry an international NFL package and still have to withhold a particular live game where another broadcaster owns the local rights. Blackout rules can also change by season, market and kickoff window, so a previous trip is not a reliable guide to a new one.

The United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland example

DAZN’s current blackout guidance illustrates the issue. In the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland, two regular-season Sunday games each week are blacked out live: one in the 18:00 BST window and one in the 21:00 BST window. Each affected game is made available on demand 24 hours after it ends.

Game category in the UK and Republic of Ireland DAZN’s stated treatment
One Sunday game in the 18:00 BST slot Unavailable live under the stated weekly blackout; on demand 24 hours after the game ends.
One Sunday game in the 21:00 BST slot Unavailable live under the stated weekly blackout; on demand 24 hours after the game ends.
Listed Sunday night, Monday night and Thursday night games DAZN says these are not affected by the stated Sunday blackouts.
U.S. Thanksgiving games DAZN says these are not affected by the stated Sunday blackouts.
Playoff games and the Super Bowl DAZN says these are not affected by the stated Sunday blackouts.

The page also warns that additional restrictions may be introduced under regional rights and regulations. Always check the blackout listing for the specific week rather than assuming that a game’s national importance makes it exempt.

Local alternatives in those markets

The NFL’s 2026 U.K. and Ireland announcement names Sky Sports, 5 and Virgin Media Television/PLAY as local broadcast partners. In the U.K., two Sunday games are scheduled to air free on 5 platforms each regular-season Sunday. In Ireland, Virgin Media Television/PLAY’s announced 2026 agreement includes at least 22 free-to-air games. These services may provide a legal live alternative for a blacked-out game, but confirm the exact weekly schedule and whether the local stream is available on your device.

How to check access before you leave

Perform these checks while you still have your normal home connection. They separate an account or rights problem from a hotel-network problem.

  1. Record the subscription origin. Note whether the account is a U.S. subscription intended for NFL Travel Pass or an international Game Pass subscription intended for Global Portability.
  2. List every destination. Include airport stopovers and side trips where you expect to watch. The United States, Canada and China are specifically excluded in the cited Travel Pass and portability descriptions.
  3. Check the destination in the service. Use the current DAZN account or help pages to verify that the country is supported. Do not rely solely on the “over 200 countries” headline.
  4. Review the week’s rights notice. Look for blackout information, affected kickoff windows and any local broadcaster carrying the game.
  5. Sign in on your intended devices. Test the phone, tablet, laptop or television app you plan to use. Confirm that the account can load the schedule and play an available on-demand video.
  6. Prepare a backup screen. Keep a phone or laptop available even if you plan to use a hotel television. A hotel set may not have the required app, may not permit installation, or may be locked to its built-in channels.
  7. Save legitimate account details. Use the normal email, password and two-factor authentication method. Avoid changing the billing country merely because you are traveling.

Watching in a hotel, rental or apartment

The NFL says Game Pass can be watched across compatible devices. Compatibility is a prerequisite, not a guarantee that every hotel television, app version or network will work.

Using your phone, tablet or laptop

This is usually the simplest fallback because you control the app or browser and do not need the property’s television system. Test the service over mobile data and Wi-Fi before departure if your plan permits it. Keep the device charged and download any required app updates before travel.

Using a hotel television

A television with a compatible app may work, but hotel systems differ. Some prevent app installation, block casting, require a room-specific login or isolate devices from one another. Ask the property whether external HDMI input and casting are enabled; do not assume that a streaming app visible on a home television is installed at the hotel.

Using an HDMI streaming stick

An optional streaming stick that supports the service can make a compatible hotel TV more convenient. It cannot bypass a country restriction, a blackout or an account limitation. Bring the stick’s power cable and, where appropriate, an HDMI extension because hotel televisions can place ports in hard-to-reach locations. The cited device information does not verify a particular model, hotel network or every app-and-device combination.

Live game, delayed replay or local selection?

Decide what outcome matters before choosing a workaround. The same trip may justify different choices for different games.

Your priority Best legal approach to investigate Trade-off
Every game, including postseason and Super Bowl Verify the applicable DAZN Travel Pass or Global Portability route for the destination, then check local restrictions. Country exclusions and blackouts can still remove live access to individual games.
One game that is blacked out live Check the destination’s licensed broadcaster; in the U.K. or Ireland, check the announced local partners. Local services may carry only selected games and may use a different app or account.
You can watch later Use the authorized on-demand replay when the rights notice specifies a delay. In the U.K. and Republic of Ireland example, affected Sunday games appear 24 hours after the game ends, not immediately.
Highlights, documentaries or studio coverage Use the on-demand content included in the applicable service. On-demand availability does not prove that the live broadcast is available.

What to do at kickoff

  1. Open the service from the destination’s normal connection. Allow the app or browser to determine your location. Do not start a VPN to force another market.
  2. Check the game listing, not only the team page. A listing may identify a live blackout, a delayed start or an on-demand release time.
  3. Confirm local time. Hotel calendars and phone settings can change time zones automatically. Compare the listed kickoff with the destination’s local clock.
  4. Use the smallest reliable setup first. Start on the phone or laptop. Move to the hotel TV only after playback is working.
  5. Keep the account signed in. Repeated logouts can trigger security checks, especially when traveling between networks.

Troubleshooting a missing or blocked game

The app says the content is unavailable in your location

First verify the country and subscription origin. If you are in the United States, Canada or China, the stated Travel Pass and Global Portability exclusions may explain the result. If you are elsewhere, check whether the game is subject to a local rights restriction before changing devices.

The game appears but will not play live

Look for the week’s blackout notice and the kickoff window. In the U.K. and Republic of Ireland, the two specified Sunday games are intentionally unavailable live and are released on demand 24 hours after the game ends. Switching from Wi-Fi to mobile data will not change an authorized blackout.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The stream works at home but not at the hotel

Test a second network, complete the hotel’s captive-portal sign-in and try a phone or laptop. Hotel Wi-Fi can restrict streaming, casting or large video sessions. If another network works, the problem is connectivity rather than the account’s rights.

The television cannot find the app

Use a supported phone, tablet or computer, or connect an optional compatible streaming stick through HDMI if the property permits it. Hardware can solve a display or app-availability problem; it cannot solve a territory restriction.

A VPN seems to fix the location

Do not use it to subscribe or evade rights rules. DAZN explicitly says VPN-based international signup violates its terms and is blocked. Return to the legitimate account and destination-specific options.

The 2026 international schedule is not a streaming-rights map

NFL Football Operations lists nine international games in 2026 across seven countries and eight stadiums. The host countries are Australia, Brazil, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Germany and Mexico, with games associated with Melbourne, Rio de Janeiro, London, Paris, Madrid, Munich and Mexico City.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

That schedule tells you where NFL games are being played, not which service has rights for a traveler in each country. A game hosted in one country can have different viewing rules for residents, visitors and international subscribers. Check the service rights for your actual location and the date of the game.

Answers to common travel questions

Can I watch NFL games abroad with my existing account?

Often, but only after identifying whether it is a U.S. account using NFL Travel Pass or an international Game Pass using Global Portability. The destination, local rights and any blackout notice determine the actual live experience.

Does NFL Game Pass work in the United States?

The cited Travel Pass and portability descriptions exclude the United States. Do not assume that an international account’s overseas access transfers to viewing from inside the United States.

Can I watch NFL games in Canada or China?

Canada and China are named exclusions in the cited DAZN Travel Pass and Global Portability descriptions. Check the current local rights holder instead of relying on an international account.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Why is only one game missing from the schedule?

A single missing game commonly indicates a territory-specific live blackout rather than a broken account. Review the destination’s weekly rights notice and the stated replay window.

Final pre-trip checklist

  • Identify whether the subscription was purchased in the U.S. or internationally.
  • Check every destination, with special attention to the United States, Canada and China.
  • Read the current blackout and local-broadcaster information for the game week.
  • Test sign-in and playback on the devices you will carry.
  • Prepare a phone or laptop backup for a hotel television that lacks the app.
  • Use a compatible streaming stick only as a convenience, never as a rights workaround.
  • Do not use a VPN, false billing country or borrowed address to create an international subscription.

The Bottom Line

The dependable way to watch NFL games abroad is to match the subscription’s purchase country with the destination’s current rights. U.S. travelers should investigate DAZN NFL Travel Pass; international subscribers should check Global Portability. Then verify blackouts, local broadcasters and device access before kickoff. No app, streaming stick or VPN can legitimately override an excluded country or a live-game blackout.
