If Law & Order is playing in the Peacock app on your phone, the quickest way to put it on a television is to cast it to a Chromecast. Open the episode, tap the Chromecast icon, and choose the TV receiver; the phone and Chromecast must be connected to the same Wi‑Fi network. If your television already supports Peacock, opening the app directly on the TV is usually simpler. The correct method depends on whether you are using Peacock or an NBC network app, which exact Law & Order series and season you want, your country, and the TV or streaming device model.
Choose the right way to watch
Start by identifying what is actually on your phone. Peacock and the NBC app are separate services with different sign-in rules and availability. Then check whether the television can run Peacock itself or has a compatible Chromecast or Roku device attached.
| Your situation | Best route | What you need to know |
|---|---|---|
| Peacock is installed on the TV | Open Peacock on the TV and search for the exact title | This avoids casting. Support varies by TV model and operating-system version. |
| Chromecast is connected to the TV | Play the episode in Peacock on the phone, tap the Chromecast icon, and select the receiver | The phone and Chromecast must use the same Wi‑Fi network. Peacock supports Chromecast 2nd Generation and newer, including Chromecast with Google TV. |
| A supported Roku device or Roku TV is connected | Install or open Peacock on Roku and sign in on the TV | Older Roku hardware is not automatically supported; check the exact model. |
| The phone app is NBC rather than Peacock | Use the NBC app’s Chromecast option, if available, or the NBC app on a supported TV device | Some NBC viewing requires a participating television-provider account. A Peacock account does not replace that login. |
| The TV has none of these options | Consider a compatible streaming device only if the television cannot run Peacock | Verify current support for the specific retail model before buying. A new device is not needed when the TV already supports Peacock. |
Check the title, season, and country first
The Law & Order franchise contains more than one program. The flagship series, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and other franchise titles can have different catalogs. Peacock’s franchise page identifies the titles it carries, but information about SVU seasons must not be assumed to apply to the original series.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesSearch for the full title in the app on your phone or television, then open the season selector. Catalog rights can differ by country and can change over time. A title visible in one territory, or on one service, is not proof that the same season is available in another. If the search returns several results, confirm the series name and season before troubleshooting the TV connection.

- Make sure the episode starts on the phone before trying to send it to the TV.
Open Peacock directly on a supported TV
If Peacock is available in the television’s app store, this is normally the fewest-step method because playback happens on the TV rather than being relayed from the phone.
- Turn on the TV and connect it to the internet.
- Open the TV’s app store or installed-app list.
- Choose Peacock. If it is already installed, open it; otherwise install it from the TV’s official app store.
- Launch Peacock and follow its on-screen sign-in instructions.
- Use the search function to enter the complete Law & Order title.
- Select the correct season and episode, then choose Play.
Peacock lists support for a range of smart TVs and connected devices, including Google TV, LG, Samsung, VIZIO, Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, and Xbox. Compatibility is not universal within a brand: model year, operating-system version, and device generation matter. Check the current Peacock supported-device list for the exact model before assuming the app should appear.
Cast Peacock from your phone with Chromecast
Chromecast casting is the direct phone-to-TV route documented by Peacock. The phone controls playback while the Chromecast receives the stream.
What you need
- A phone or tablet running a current Peacock app.
- A Chromecast 2nd Generation or later, including Chromecast with Google TV, connected to an HDMI port on the TV and set up on your home network.
- The phone and Chromecast connected to the same Wi‑Fi network.
- A Peacock account that can play the selected episode in your location.
Cast an episode
- Turn on the TV and switch to the HDMI input used by the Chromecast.
- Connect the phone to the same Wi‑Fi network as the Chromecast. If your phone automatically switches between networks, confirm the active network in its Wi‑Fi settings.
- Open the Peacock app on the phone.
- Search for the exact Law & Order series and select the season and episode.
- Press Play.
- Tap the Chromecast icon in the Peacock player.
- Select the Chromecast connected to the TV.
- Wait for the TV to begin playback. Use the phone’s Peacock controls to pause, resume, seek, or stop casting.
If Chromecast has not been set up yet, the Google Home app may be required for setup or troubleshooting. Complete that setup first, then return to Peacock and repeat the casting steps.

- 4K picture quality: With Roku Streaming Stick Plus, watch your favorites with brilliant 4K picture and vivid HDR color.
- Compact without compromises: Our sleek design won’t block neighboring HDMI ports, and it even powers from your TV alone, plugging into the back and staying out of sight. No wall outlet, no extra cords, no clutter.
- No more juggling remotes: Power up your TV, adjust the volume, and control your Roku device with one remote. Use your voice to quickly search, play entertainment, and more.
- Shows on the go: Take your TV to-go when traveling—without needing to log into someone else’s device.
When the Chromecast icon is missing
- Confirm that the episode is playing in Peacock, not merely selected on a details page.
- Check that both devices are on the same Wi‑Fi network and not on separate guest and main networks.
- Verify that the Chromecast is powered, the TV is on the correct HDMI input, and the receiver appears in the Google Home app.
- Close and reopen Peacock, then try the player again.
- Restart the phone, Chromecast, and network router if the receiver still does not appear.
- Check whether the Chromecast generation is supported; Peacock’s listed minimum is 2nd Generation.
A phone can remain usable for other tasks while casting, but stopping the cast or closing the session ends playback on the television. If playback fails only for one title, search for another episode to determine whether the problem is catalog or account related rather than a network connection problem.
Use Peacock on Roku or another connected device
A Roku device does not require the phone to stay in control. Install Peacock on Roku, sign in on the TV, and select the program with the Roku remote.
- From the Roku home screen, open the streaming-channel store.
- Search for Peacock and add the official channel.
- Open Peacock and complete its sign-in process.
- Search for the exact Law & Order title, select a season, and start an episode.
Peacock lists Roku Streaming Stick model 3600X or later and several Roku player and Roku TV models. Because support is model-specific, read the model number in the Roku settings before troubleshooting an installation that fails. Do not assume that every older Roku device can install the current app.
The same principle applies to other connected devices. Peacock lists support for Google TV, LG and Samsung televisions, VIZIO SmartCast televisions, Fire TV, Apple TV, Xbox, and additional platforms, with restrictions by model and software. Use the TV maker’s app store and Peacock’s current device list rather than installing an unofficial package.

If the app on your phone is NBC, not Peacock
The NBC app can also describe casting episodes to a TV with Chromecast, but it is not the same service as Peacock. Open the NBC app, start the program, and use its cast control when a compatible Chromecast is available. The phone and receiver still need to be discoverable on the same local network for casting to work.
NBC network-app viewing can require an account with a participating television provider. That provider authentication is separate from a Peacock subscription or Peacock sign-in. If the NBC app asks you to choose a provider, use the credentials for the eligible TV service; entering Peacock credentials will not satisfy that requirement.
The NBC app listing describes use as limited to the United States and its territories. If you are elsewhere, the app may not offer the same episodes or live-TV functions. Check the service shown in your app and its sign-in prompt before changing TV settings.
Know what is available on free, ad-supported channels
NBCUniversal announced a dedicated U.S. Law & Order FAST channel on September 9, 2025. At launch, the announcement listed Seasons 5–10 on LG Channels, Pluto TV, Prime Video, The Roku Channel, Samsung TV Plus, and Xumo Play.
Rank #4
- Hides behind your TV: The all-new design plugs right into your TV with a simple setup
- Super-fast startup: Start streaming channels like Disney+, Prime Video, HBO Max, Apple TV+, Netflix, Sling, and Hulu in a snap—just turn on your TV
- Long-range Wi-Fi: Enjoy fast, smooth TV streaming in any room with a strong Wi-Fi connection, now up to 2x faster
- No more juggling remotes: Power up your TV, adjust the volume, and control your Roku Streaming Stick with the Roku remote
- Voice search & control: Quickly search, play entertainment, and control your streaming device with the voice remote
That announcement is dated launch information, not a guarantee that those seasons or all six platforms still carry the channel. FAST catalogs change, and availability is U.S.-specific. Open the current catalog in the relevant service and search for the channel or season before planning to watch there. The channel may run a scheduled stream rather than offering every episode on demand.
Phone and TV compatibility requirements
Peacock’s published requirements include the following versions and device generations. They can change as the service updates its app, so treat this as a compatibility check rather than a permanent guarantee.
| Device or platform | Requirement listed by Peacock | Practical implication |
|---|---|---|
| Android phone or tablet | Android 7.0 or newer | An older Android device may not install or update the current Peacock app. |
| iPhone or iPad | iOS 16 or newer | Older iOS versions may be unable to run the current app. |
| Chromecast | 2nd Generation or newer, including Chromecast with Google TV | Confirm the generation before diagnosing a missing cast option. |
| Apple TV | Apple TV HD (4th Generation or later) with tvOS 18 or newer | Earlier Apple TV hardware is not covered by this listed requirement. |
| LG television | webOS 3.5 or newer | Model year alone is not enough; check the installed webOS version. |
| Samsung Smart TV | 2017 or newer | Some older Samsung models may not support the current app. |
| VIZIO SmartCast TV | 2016 or newer | Confirm the television’s model and SmartCast software. |
| Roku | Streaming Stick model 3600X or later, plus listed Roku players and Roku TV models | Read the exact model number rather than assuming all Roku hardware is compatible. |
Troubleshoot by symptom
The TV app is not listed
Check the exact TV model and operating-system version against Peacock’s current supported-device list. A brand name by itself does not establish compatibility. If the model is unsupported, use a compatible Chromecast or another supported connected device instead of repeatedly searching the app store.
The app installs but will not play the episode
First verify that the same episode plays on the phone. If it does not, the problem may be account, title, season, or regional availability. If it plays on the phone but not the TV, sign out and back in on the TV, restart the television, and check for an app or system update offered by the TV’s official store.

Chromecast appears but playback stops
Recheck the shared Wi‑Fi requirement, especially if the phone moved to cellular data or a guest network. Keep the Chromecast powered and the TV on its input. Restart the receiver and phone, then cast again from a freshly opened Peacock session.
The wrong series or season appears
Use the full title and inspect the season selector. Do not use SVU season information as a substitute for the flagship Law & Order listing. If a season is absent, it may not be licensed in your country or on that service at that time.
NBC asks for a provider
That prompt belongs to NBC’s network authentication flow. Sign in with a participating television-provider account if you have one, or look for the title in Peacock if your subscription and territory support it. A Peacock login is not a provider login.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Should you buy a streaming device?
Buy or add hardware only to solve a specific compatibility gap. If the TV already runs Peacock, use the TV app. If a supported Chromecast is attached, casting requires no new purchase. A streaming stick becomes reasonable when the built-in TV software is unsupported, missing Peacock, or too old to receive updates.
For a Roku purchase, Peacock’s support information establishes category relevance for Roku Streaming Stick model 3600X or later, but verify the exact model’s present compatibility at the time of purchase. Confirm that the device is sold for your region, that the TV has the required HDMI input, and that your home network can connect it. Hardware support and catalog availability are separate questions: a compatible stick can run the app, but it cannot create access to a season that the service does not offer in your country.
A reliable setup checklist
- Identify whether the phone app is Peacock or NBC.
- Confirm the complete Law & Order title and season.
- Check the country in which you are watching.
- Look for Peacock on the TV before planning to cast.
- For Chromecast, put the phone and receiver on the same Wi‑Fi network.
- Verify device generation and operating-system requirements.
- Use official TV app stores and the current Peacock device list.
- For NBC, prepare the credentials for a participating television provider if the app requests them.
- For the FAST channel, treat the September 2025 season and platform list as launch information and check the current catalog.
In practice, the shortest dependable path is Peacock directly on a supported TV. When the app is only on the phone, Chromecast casting supplies the bridge, provided the receiver and phone share Wi‑Fi. NBC-app viewing follows different authentication rules, and the exact series, season, country, and device determine what you can actually play.
