There is no single worldwide way to watch Korean TV: the route depends on the channel, title, and country. For KBS, start with KBS WORLD through a local provider or KBS KOREA’s official YouTube live stream. KBS’s domestic apps are a separate matter: its audience FAQ says my K services are restricted to South Korea. For Wavve and TVING, the official information available here does not establish that the Korean services can be used abroad; check the title on services licensed in your location.
Choose a route by channel and country
“Korean TV” can mean an international channel, a domestic streaming app, or a particular show licensed to a local platform. Those are not interchangeable. A provider carrying KBS WORLD does not necessarily offer KBS’s domestic app catalog, and international distribution of selected TVING titles does not establish access to the Korean TVING service.

How to find KBS WORLD in your location
Check local cable, satellite, IPTV, and OTT listings
- Open the KBS WORLD local platform directory and find your region and country.
- Contact the listed operator to confirm current carriage, availability at your address, package requirements, and any fees. KBS says operators—not KBS’s directory—handle actual service provision and technical support.
- Ask whether the channel’s schedule and subtitle options meet your needs. KBS WORLD is an international channel, not a guarantee of access to every domestic KBS program on demand.
For example, KBS’s US directory lists KORTV as an OTT provider and names Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Roku TV as platforms. This supports checking KORTV on an Amazon Fire TV streaming device in the United States; it does not mean that the device unlocks KBS domestic services, Wavve, or TVING. Consider satellite only after checking local requirements
KBS WORLD’s FAQ gives broad satellite reception options for areas where local providers do not carry the channel: Intelsat 19 and/or 20 for Asia, Africa, and Oceania; Eutelsat Hotbird 13C HD and/or Arabsat BARD6 SD for Europe and the Middle East. Watch KBS KOREA through its international route
KBS describes KBS KOREA as an overseas-facing channel and says its live broadcast is available worldwide except South Korea through the KBS WORLD YouTube channel. Its information page also lists selected regional options, including DirecTV’s Korea package in the United States, NicoNico in Japan, MEGOGO in certain CIS markets, and Korean IPTV in New Zealand. Availability is specific to those listed services and places; check the current listing and local provider before relying on it. KBS KOREA information
A live international channel is not the same as an unrestricted archive of domestic programs. Check the channel schedule for the show you want rather than assuming every KBS series is available there.

Why KBS programming can look different abroad
International schedules may lag the Korean first run
KBS says KBS WORLD programming may air one to seven days after the terrestrial first run in Korea. It also notes that some programs do not have English subtitles. KBS Audience Service says my K app’s live, replay, and clip services are available only within South Korea because of program transmission rights. The original Korean FAQ states: “프로그램 전송권 등의 사유로 my K 앱의 온에어/다시보기/클립 서비스는 대한민국 국내에서만 이용하실 수 있습니다.” In English: “For reasons such as program transmission rights, the my K app’s live/replay/clip services can only be used within South Korea.” This is a translation of the Korean FAQ, not an independently published English quotation. What is established about Wavve abroad
KBS names Wavve as a place to watch KBS programs live or on demand in the domestic viewing context. That does not confirm that Wavve accepts overseas registrations or payments, works during travel, or carries a given title in another country. The official sources cited here do not settle those questions. Check Wavve’s current terms and the playback page for the exact program before subscribing or making travel plans. Find TVING titles licensed for your market
CJ ENM’s January 26, 2026 announcement describes selected TVING-curated content through Disney+ Japan and a TVING brand section on HBO Max in 17 Asia-Pacific countries and regions. This is selective title distribution, not confirmation that the Korean TVING app or subscription works in those markets. Search the local Disney+ or HBO Max catalog for the program you want; a brand section or announcement alone does not confirm that a specific title is currently available in your country. - Identify whether you want a live international channel or a particular program on demand.
- Check the provider’s current country-specific listing and title catalog, not just the service’s name.
- Confirm account, payment, device, subtitle, and playback requirements directly with the provider.
- For KBS, distinguish KBS WORLD or KBS KOREA from domestic apps such as my K and from domestic viewing routes named by KBS.
