If Grey’s Anatomy is missing from your streaming app, the usual cause is territorial licensing rather than a problem with your account or device. Start with a country-specific JustWatch search, then open the listed service’s own title page and verify the seasons, episodes, languages and price before subscribing. Catalogs can differ sharply: the United States listing checked on October 15, 2026 includes Netflix, Disney+, Hulu and YouTube TV, while the France listing checked on September 28, 2026 shows Disney+ and different purchase options.

When no local service has the episodes, legal digital purchase or a DVD/Blu-ray season set may be the dependable alternative. Do not assume that a service available in one country, or even a page visible in your app, carries the same seasons where you live.

Why Grey’s Anatomy is unavailable in some countries

Streaming rights are negotiated by territory. A studio can license one country’s seasons to one service, another country’s seasons to a different service, and leave a third country without a current streaming deal. The result is a catalog that follows your account and viewing location, not the catalog a colleague or relative sees abroad.

Rights can also be split by use. One company may have older seasons on demand, a broadcaster may control the newest broadcast window, and a digital store may sell individual episodes without offering a subscription stream. The same title can therefore appear in a search result but still lack the particular season, episode, language track or playback entitlement you need.

#1 Best Overall

Availability is volatile. Contracts expire, episodes move between services, and a newly released episode may arrive on demand later than its broadcast. Treat every listing as a dated snapshot and confirm it on the provider’s own page immediately before paying.

The quickest way to find a legal local stream

  1. Set your country in JustWatch. Open the service’s country selector and choose the country where you will watch. A United States check on October 15, 2026 covered 374 services; a France check on September 28, 2026 covered 109. Those counts show the breadth of the search, not a guarantee that every service has the show.
  2. Search the exact title. Select Grey’s Anatomy, not a similarly named documentary, clip collection or recap. Note the date shown for the listing and whether the result is marked streaming, live television, rent, buy or physical media.
  3. Open each provider’s own page. Use the listing as a discovery tool, then verify the title inside the service. Check the available seasons and episode numbers, not just the series artwork.
  4. Check release timing. A live broadcast, next-day episode and complete back catalogue are different offers. Record whether the service has the current season, older seasons, or only selected episodes.
  5. Confirm language and playback details. Look for the audio tracks, subtitles, accessibility options, supported devices and any provider or regional restrictions before starting a trial or paid plan.
  6. Compare the commitment. A subscription may be monthly and cancellable, while a digital purchase is a one-time transaction tied to a store account. If a listing sends you to a live-TV plan, verify that the plan is sold in your location and that local broadcast restrictions do not block the channel.

If the service’s page disagrees with the aggregator, trust the provider’s current page for the purchase decision. Take a screenshot or note the season and episode coverage if you need to contact support later.

United States: current ways to watch

The United States listing checked on October 15, 2026 identifies Netflix, Disney+, Hulu and YouTube TV as streaming options. It also lists digital purchase through Amazon Video, Apple TV Store and Fandango At Home, plus DVD/Blu-ray purchase through Amazon DVD/Blu-ray. The exact episodes, pricing and plan requirements should be confirmed in each store because listings and rights can change.

Hulu for the on-demand library

Hulu’s official guide dated January 5, 2026 says that all 21 completed seasons and released episodes from Season 22 are available on demand. Hulu’s series page displays 22 seasons and 465 episodes. That makes Hulu the principal current library route in the United States when you want older seasons alongside already released current-season episodes.

The wording matters: released Season 22 episodes are available, not necessarily every future episode before it airs. Open the season selector and verify the newest episode number before assuming the entire season is complete. Hulu’s guide describes past seasons and already released current-season episodes as on-demand content.

Watching the ABC broadcast through Hulu + Live TV

New episodes air on ABC and can be watched live through Hulu + Live TV, with next-day streaming on Hulu. Live-TV plans are subject to regional restrictions and blackouts, so the availability of ABC in one United States ZIP code does not prove that it is available in another. Confirm your local channel lineup and the plan’s live-TV terms during signup.

Use the live route when you need the broadcast as it airs. Use the on-demand route when you can wait for the next-day window or are catching up on previous seasons. A Hulu subscription that includes on-demand access is not automatically the same product as Hulu + Live TV.

Buying episodes or seasons digitally

The United States listing identifies Amazon Video, Apple TV Store and Fandango At Home for digital purchase. A purchase can be useful when you do not want a continuing subscription, but check whether the store sells a complete season, individual episodes or only a particular release. Verify the account’s country, supported playback devices, HD or SD format, subtitles and the store’s download or streaming rules before checkout.

Digital ownership is still platform-dependent access. Keep the purchase in the account and app that sold it, and check the provider’s terms for offline viewing and device limits. A store listing may remain available after a subscription deal ends, but availability, pricing and playback rights are controlled by that store.

DVD and Blu-ray in the United States

The same United States listing includes DVD/Blu-ray purchase through Amazon DVD/Blu-ray. Physical discs are a practical fallback when no local streaming service has the show or when you want a season that can disappear from a catalog.

Before ordering, check the edition’s region code, whether it is DVD or Blu-ray, subtitle and audio options, and whether your player supports that region and format. Confirm whether the item is new or used and whether the set contains the seasons and episodes you expect. Seller inventory and prices vary.

Other countries: why the answer changes

Disney+ availability is country-specific

Disney+ Ireland and other regional Disney+ pages list Grey’s Anatomy as a 22-season medical drama. That establishes availability on those regional pages, not worldwide availability. A Disney+ page visible in Ireland does not prove that the same 22 seasons are licensed in Canada, Australia, France or any other country.

Sign in through your local Disney+ site or app and search the title there. Check the season count, episode list, audio and subtitle languages, maturity settings and playback devices. If the title page is absent, do not infer that changing the app language will add the series; the catalog is governed by the account’s market and territorial rights.

France as an example of a different catalog

The France JustWatch listing checked on September 28, 2026 shows Disney+ for streaming and different purchase options from the United States listing. It was based on a search of 109 services. This is why a United States guide cannot be used as a France watch list: the streaming home and buying routes can differ even for the same series.

Use the France result only as a dated example. Recheck the French listing and the provider’s own page when you are ready to watch, because a later licensing change can alter the service or the available seasons.

ABC and broadcaster access

ABC’s official Grey’s Anatomy page describes the program as a medical drama following the personal and professional lives of doctors at Seattle’s Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital and directs viewers to Hulu for full episodes. ABC access remains location- and provider-dependent. In a country without the relevant ABC distribution, the page may identify the show without granting playback.

Compare the legal options before you subscribe

Option Best for Release pattern Coverage to verify Cost or commitment
Hulu on demand (United States) Catching up on the library and released current-season episodes Older seasons and released Season 22 episodes on demand Hulu’s page shows 22 seasons and 465 episodes; confirm the newest episode Subscription; price not stated in the available listing
Hulu + Live TV (United States) Watching new episodes when they air on ABC Live broadcast, with next-day Hulu streaming Local ABC channel, regional restrictions and blackouts Live-TV plan; price not stated in the available listing
Disney+ in a supported territory Subscription viewing where the local catalog includes the series Depends on the country’s release and licensing schedule Country-specific seasons, episodes, languages and maturity settings Subscription; local price not stated
Digital purchase Keeping access without a continuing streaming subscription Usually a season or episode after the store’s release Store country, format, subtitles, devices and season completeness One-time purchase; prices vary by store and date
DVD/Blu-ray Durable access when streaming rights are unavailable Complete physical release included in the set Region code, disc format, player, subtitles and condition One-time purchase; inventory and price vary

No single row is automatically best. Choose the route that matches whether you need the live broadcast, the full back catalogue, a single season, or access that is less exposed to streaming catalog changes.

A decision process when the show is missing from your app

Case 1: The title does not appear at all

Confirm that your account and app are set to the country where you are physically watching. Sign out and back in if the service recently changed markets, then search the exact title again. If the provider still has no result, run the country-specific JustWatch search and inspect other legal services or purchase listings. Do not pay for a plan until the provider’s own page displays the series.

Case 2: The title appears, but seasons are missing

Open the season picker and compare the displayed season numbers with the listing. A service may carry selected seasons or only the newest release. Check another legal service, a digital store and physical sets for the missing seasons. Keep the season and episode numbers in your notes so customer support can answer a specific catalog question.

Case 3: The episode is listed but will not play

Read the playback message and check whether the issue is a live-TV entitlement, a local blackout, a provider restriction or an unavailable episode window. Verify that your plan includes the required live or on-demand feature and that the device is supported. If the title page works but playback fails only for one episode, wait for the stated release window rather than assuming the entire series has been removed.

Best Value

Case 4: A friend can watch it in another country

That difference is consistent with territorial licensing. Ask which country, service, season and episode they are using, then repeat the search with your own country selected. Their catalog is evidence of what is licensed there, not proof that the same entitlement exists on your account.

How release timing affects what you can watch

There are three separate timing questions: when an episode airs, when it becomes available on demand, and whether older episodes remain in the library. In the United States, new episodes air on ABC, are available live through Hulu + Live TV, and arrive on Hulu the next day. The on-demand library also includes past seasons and released Season 22 episodes according to Hulu’s January 5, 2026 guide.

A current-season result therefore should not be interpreted as a promise of same-day on-demand access or a completed season. Check the episode’s date and status in the provider’s app. If you are planning a weekend binge, verify that every season and episode you need is listed before committing to a month of service.

Physical media checklist

When streaming rights do not cover your country, physical media avoids a catalog’s expiration date but introduces compatibility checks. Use this checklist before buying:

  • Region: Match the disc’s region code to the player. A set imported from another market may not play on a locally locked device.
  • Format: Confirm DVD versus Blu-ray and check that your player supports the format and video standard.
  • Contents: Read the season and episode list; a box may contain only selected seasons or a special edition.
  • Languages: Verify subtitles and audio tracks rather than assuming an imported edition has your preferred language.
  • Condition: For used media, check seller notes, disc condition and return terms.
  • Equipment: Ensure your television, disc player or computer drive can connect and play the chosen format.

Physical inventory is not permanent either: sellers can run out, editions can be discontinued, and prices can change. Compare the exact release details, not just the cover image.

What to avoid

Do not rely on unlicensed streams, copied files or sites that promise every episode for free. They can be illegal in your jurisdiction, disappear without notice and expose you to deceptive downloads or account theft. A location-changing tool also cannot create a license that the provider has not granted in your market, and using one may conflict with a service’s terms. The reliable approach is to verify a local licensed service, buy the episode or season from a legitimate store, or use a compatible physical release.

Final verification before paying

  1. Check the country setting and the date of the availability listing.
  2. Open the provider’s own Grey’s Anatomy page.
  3. Count the seasons and confirm the specific episode range you need.
  4. Review live versus next-day versus library access.
  5. Check audio, subtitles, devices, regional restrictions and blackouts.
  6. Read the subscription cancellation or digital-store purchase terms.
  7. If choosing discs, verify region, format, contents and player compatibility.

Following those steps prevents the most common mistake: subscribing to a service that carries the title in your country but not the season or release window you expected.
