The dependable way to watch ATP tennis abroad is to check the ATP Tour’s official TV schedule for the country you are visiting and the specific tournament category—Masters 1000, ATP 500 or ATP 250—before you leave. Broadcast rights can change by territory and by event, so a service that works at home is not automatically the service that carries the same match overseas. Use the schedule to identify the local rights-holder, then confirm whether it offers live coverage, replays, a suitable subscription and a device you can use at your destination.
Tennis TV is the ATP’s official streaming option. Its Premium service includes live matches and replays on computers, mobile devices, smart TVs and Amazon Fire TV. Tennis TV lists worldwide availability with four country exceptions, while Japan has a separate restriction on new Premium subscriptions. The published help pages do not clearly establish how an existing subscriber’s live access behaves after crossing a border, so verify your destination and event before relying on an existing account.
Start with the event and destination, not your home subscription
ATP viewing is governed by territorial rights. The same tournament can have different broadcast partners in different countries, and the partner can differ between tournament levels. The ATP Tour’s TV Schedule is therefore the first page to consult. Select the country where you will actually watch and look for the event category you care about.

|---|---|
| Destination country | The available broadcaster is determined by the territory in which you are watching, not simply by where your account was created. |
| Tournament category | ATP lists rights separately for Masters 1000, ATP 500 and ATP 250 tournaments; a partner shown for one category may not carry another. |
| Specific event and dates | Coverage is event-specific. Confirm the tournament week and session you want rather than assuming every ATP match is included. |
| Live versus replay access | A service may provide a replay even when its live rights are different. Confirm the type of access before paying or travelling. |
Make this check for every tournament you expect to follow. A multi-country trip can require several checks because your viewing territory changes when you move between destinations.

How to use the ATP TV Schedule
- Open the schedule. Go to atptour.com/en/tournaments/tv-schedule, the ATP Tour’s official TV-schedule page.
- Identify the country where you will watch. Use your lodging location or the country in which you will be when the match starts. Do not use your departure country by mistake.
- Find the tournament. Match the event name and dates in your itinerary to the schedule listing.
- Check the category. Confirm whether it is a Masters 1000, ATP 500 or ATP 250 event. If the page presents separate category listings, inspect the relevant one rather than stopping at a general ATP entry.
- Record the listed partner. Write down the broadcaster or streaming service shown for that country and event. Save its official sign-in or subscription page before departure.
- Confirm the offer on the partner’s own page. Check that the listed option provides live matches at the time you need, not merely highlights or on-demand replays.
- Repeat for each stop. If your itinerary includes another country, run the same event-and-territory check again.
The schedule tells you who is listed for a territory and category. It does not by itself confirm that your existing account, package or device will work after you cross a border, so treat account and technical checks as a separate step.
Tennis TV: the official streaming route
Tennis TV is an official ATP streaming option. Tennis TV’s help information says Premium provides live matches and replays, with support for computers, mobile devices, smart TVs and Amazon Fire TV. Those are useful capabilities for a traveller who may need to switch between a phone, a laptop and a television in a hotel or rental.
Read the current availability information before you subscribe or travel. Tennis TV’s country page says: “Tennis TV is available worldwide except for the following countries:” It then lists Cuba, Iran, North Korea and Syria. The same information separately says that Premium subscriptions are unavailable in Japan; existing users retain Premium access until their current subscription term ends. The Japan statement is a subscription restriction, not a guarantee that every travelling subscriber will receive the same live-event rights in every territory.
For the complete current wording and country list, consult Tennis TV Help Centre’s “Is Tennis TV available in my country?” article. For supported ways to watch, see “How Can I Watch Tennis TV?”.
What Premium does and does not establish for a trip
| Question | What the published help pages establish | What you still need to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Does it include live tennis? | Premium offers live matches and replays. | Whether the particular event is available live in your destination. |
| Can I use a computer or phone? | Computers and mobile devices are listed as supported platforms. | That your browser, app, network and account are ready before match time. |
| Can I watch on a television? | Smart TVs and Amazon Fire TV are listed as supported. | Compatibility with the television or streaming device supplied at your lodging. |
| Is it available in every country? | Four country exceptions are listed: Cuba, Iran, North Korea and Syria. Japan has a separate Premium-subscription restriction. | Whether your route, payment country and destination meet the current terms. |
| Will my existing subscription follow me abroad? | The reviewed help pages do not settle this question for live-event access. | Ask the service or check its destination-specific terms before departure. |
What to do if you already subscribe at home
Do not assume that an active home subscription guarantees the same live coverage overseas. The official pages reviewed for this guide describe availability, content and supported devices, but they do not clearly explain how live rights are applied when an existing subscriber changes location. That is an evidence gap you should resolve before the trip rather than discovering it at first serve.
- Note your exact service and plan. Record whether you use Tennis TV Premium or another partner identified by the ATP schedule.
- Check the destination and event together. An account may be usable in a country while a particular tournament is subject to different local rights.
- Read the current service terms and help pages. Look specifically for travel, territory, live-event and account-location language.
- Contact support if the wording is not decisive. Give the destination country, event name, tournament category and travel dates. Ask whether live matches, replays or both are available to your account there.
- Keep the answer with your itinerary. Save the response or relevant terms so you know what was confirmed and for which event.
If no one can confirm cross-border live access, use the ATP TV Schedule to identify the destination’s listed partner as your primary plan and treat your home subscription as a possible secondary option.

Compare your practical viewing choices
Use this decision table after you have identified the country and tournament. It separates rights questions from convenience questions.
| Option | Best use | Verify before travel | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Destination broadcaster listed by ATP | The event is covered by the partner assigned to the country you will visit. | Live availability, sign-up or login requirements, language, device support and timing. | A partner may cover only certain ATP categories or events. |
| Tennis TV Premium | You want the official ATP streaming service with live matches and replays on supported devices. | Country availability, the specific event, and how an existing subscription behaves abroad. | Territory and subscription restrictions can apply; the help pages do not promise identical cross-border live access. |
| Replay access | Your schedule makes live viewing impractical or live rights are not confirmed. | Whether the service offers the match replay and how long it remains available. | It is not a live substitute when you need to watch in real time. |
| Television supplied by lodging | You have a compatible smart TV or streaming device and a service login. | HDMI or casting options, Wi-Fi access, sign-out controls and support for your service. | The room’s hardware may not support your account or may restrict installing apps. |
Choose the option with confirmed event rights first. Only then optimize for screen size, convenience or the number of devices you plan to carry.
Prepare your devices before leaving
Computer
- Sign in to the service you expect to use and confirm that your plan is active.
- Update the browser and operating system while you still have reliable access to your normal support channels.
- Test playback on the same type of connection you are likely to use, such as a home Wi-Fi network and a mobile hotspot.
- Save the official schedule and help-center links in your bookmarks.
Phone or tablet
- Install or update the official service app if one is required by your chosen partner.
- Sign in before the flight and keep your credentials available through your normal password manager.
- Test both Wi-Fi and mobile data so you know how to switch if hotel connectivity fails.
- Carry a charger or power bank; long matches can outlast a phone battery.
Smart TV or Amazon Fire TV
Tennis TV lists smart TVs and Amazon Fire TV among its supported platforms. A compatible device can make a lodging television useful, but compatibility does not change destination rights. Before travelling, confirm that the service app is available on your device, sign in once, and learn how to sign out at the end of your stay. If you bring an Amazon Fire TV streaming device, pack its power adapter and remote, and check whether the lodging television has an available HDMI input.
Using a television you do not control
- Ask whether you may connect a personal streaming device or use the television’s built-in apps.
- Confirm that the television can receive the connection you need and that the room network permits streaming.
- Use your own account only; do not save credentials on a shared television.
- Sign out, remove the device and clear any saved account information before checking out.
Plan around time zones and match timing
The ATP schedule identifies the rights partner, but your travel plan determines when you can watch. Put each match or session in the local time of the country where you will view it. A match listed for an evening session at home can occur during the night, morning or workday abroad. Add a second time-zone column to your itinerary and note whether you need live coverage or can accept a replay.
For a multi-stop trip, make one row per destination and event. Include the country, tournament category, expected local start, listed broadcaster, account status and backup plan. This prevents a common mistake: checking the correct tournament but using the wrong country’s rights information.
Troubleshoot access before the match starts
The service says the event is unavailable
Return to the ATP TV Schedule and recheck the destination country and tournament category. If the schedule lists another partner, the issue may be territorial rights rather than your password or device. Confirm whether the service offers a replay instead, then contact the listed partner if the schedule and its own event listing disagree.

Your account works, but live video is missing
Separate account status from event rights. An active login proves only that the service recognizes your account; it does not establish that the current event is available live in the territory where you are watching. Check the event listing and ask support the destination-specific question.
The app or website will not play on the lodging television
- Try the computer or mobile device that the Tennis TV help page lists as supported.
- Test the television’s built-in app separately from a personal streaming device.
- Check the HDMI input, power, network connection and device sign-in.
- If the room network blocks the stream, switch to an approved connection you control, such as your phone’s data connection, if your plan allows it.
You are in a listed exception country
Tennis TV’s country-availability page lists Cuba, Iran, North Korea and Syria as exceptions. Do not plan around Premium access there without current confirmation. Japan has a separate restriction on new Premium subscriptions, while existing users are described as retaining access through the end of their current subscription term; obtain destination-specific clarification for your circumstances.
The event starts while you are in transit
Decide in advance whether you need live coverage. If not, verify replay availability and avoid buying a second service solely because you cannot watch the original start time. If live viewing is essential, arrange the destination partner and a tested device before leaving connectivity behind.
