Open SpaceX’s mission page for the specific Starship flight, then select WATCH. That mission page is the primary source for the webcast, mission description, and flight-specific timing. SpaceX also identifies X @SpaceX as an official webcast and updates destination. Because developmental test schedules can move, check both destinations shortly before launch rather than relying on an old countdown or third-party schedule.
The official ways to watch a Starship launch
SpaceX identifies two official destinations for a Starship webcast and launch information. They serve different purposes, so the best approach is to keep both available:
| Destination | Best use | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| SpaceX mission page for the flight | Dedicated live viewing and flight-specific information | Choose the WATCH control, then read the current webcast start time and status shown for that mission. |
| X @SpaceX | Official webcast access plus rapid status updates | Look for SpaceX’s latest posts about timing, holds, weather, technical work, or a rescheduled attempt. |
Start with the mission page whenever one exists. A general video search can surface unofficial commentary or an old simulcast, while the mission page is tied to the particular flight. Use X as the companion source for changes that may be posted close to liftoff.
Step-by-step: watch from the SpaceX mission page
- Find the page for the exact Starship flight. Do not assume that a page for one flight applies to the next. Mission pages carry their own descriptions, timing, and webcast instructions.
- Check the displayed status and date. Read the page immediately before you plan to watch. Developmental test schedules are dynamic, and a date shown in an older article or calendar may no longer be current.
- Select WATCH. The WATCH control is the mission page’s route into SpaceX’s webcast. If the stream has not opened yet, the page may show a holding screen or a notice that coverage will begin later.
- Note the stated start time. The lead time is mission-specific. For Flight 14, SpaceX said its webcast would begin about 30 minutes before liftoff. Treat that as Flight 14’s plan, not a standard interval for every Starship flight.
- Leave the mission page open. It is the place to return if the countdown pauses, the attempt is scrubbed, or the webcast timing changes. Refreshing the page can reveal a newer status, but avoid repeatedly refreshing if your connection is unstable.
- Keep X @SpaceX available in another tab or on a second device. SpaceX directs viewers to that account for updates. Use it to confirm a hold, a revised target, or a new webcast notice.
If the mission page has no active WATCH control, do not infer that a launch is imminent. It may be an archived mission, a page that has not yet opened its stream, or a flight whose schedule has changed.

What Flight 14’s webcast plan included
Flight 14’s mission page described the flight as SpaceX’s first planned Starship orbital mission. The page gave an expected altitude of approximately 275 km, about six orbits, a nearly 10-hour flight, and a planned Pacific splashdown west of Chile. These are Flight 14 mission-plan details; they are not specifications that should be applied automatically to another Starship flight.
SpaceX said coverage was planned to continue through splashdown. The plan could therefore include extended live views from Starship in orbit rather than ending immediately after ascent. “Planned” matters here: an orbital mission profile, camera availability, communications, and the webcast duration can all change during a developmental test.
Flight 14’s page also stated that the webcast would begin about 30 minutes before liftoff. For a different flight, wait for that flight’s own mission page to state its start time. If no lead time is displayed, use the page and X account as the authoritative places to watch for an announcement.

How to verify the launch time without relying on an old countdown
Starship flights are developmental tests, so the schedule may change for technical, range, weather, or operational reasons. A time printed in a news story, shared in a calendar, or remembered from an earlier attempt can become obsolete.

- Check the mission-specific SpaceX page on the day you intend to watch. Confirm that the flight is still listed and look for the latest webcast or launch-status wording.
- Check X @SpaceX shortly before the stated window. This is the official account SpaceX names for updates, so it can provide a quick confirmation when the page’s countdown has changed.
- Recheck after a hold or delay. A countdown pause does not by itself tell you whether liftoff will resume the same day. Wait for a new official statement.
- Use the newest official wording when sources disagree. Do not combine an old launch time with a newer webcast time or assume that a third-party countdown has been updated.
SpaceX summarizes the uncertainty on the Flight 14 page: “As is the case with all developmental testing, the schedule is dynamic and likely to change, so be sure to check in here and stay tuned to our X account for updates.” The statement is from SpaceX’s Flight 14 page and is not attributed to a named individual.
Resolving the Flight 14 status conflict
One official display inconsistency is important if you search for Flight 14. A launch-listing extract labels Flight 14 as upcoming but leaves its date and time unpopulated. Separately, the mission-specific record and the completed-missions table identify Flight 14 as having launched on September 28, 2026.
Because those displays conflict, do not publish or repeat a new Flight 14 launch date based on the listing extract. If you are checking the flight now, use the mission-specific record and SpaceX’s X account to establish whether you are looking at an archived mission or a current event. The September 28, 2026 completion date is the recorded result in the mission-specific and completed-missions records; the undated “upcoming” label should not be treated as a future countdown.
This issue illustrates why the page for the exact mission matters. A site-wide launch list can lag behind a mission record, and an undated status cannot tell you when to tune in.

Where Starship launches
SpaceX’s launch listing identifies Starbase, Texas, as Starship’s development, manufacturing, testing, and launch site. That location explains why mission coverage may show ground operations from Starbase before ascent and why local range or site activity can affect the schedule.
Knowing the location is useful for identifying the correct mission, but it does not replace the webcast. The online stream is the practical way to follow the countdown, onboard views, mission commentary, and any later flight phases described on the mission page.
Prepare your viewing setup
The official instructions require an internet-connected screen, not a specialized product. A computer, phone, or tablet with a modern browser is generally sufficient for an online webcast. Prepare the setup before the stated start time so a browser update, login prompt, or weak connection does not make you miss the opening coverage.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors- Use a stable connection. If possible, connect to a reliable home network rather than switching between cellular and Wi-Fi during the countdown.
- Charge portable devices. A long mission plan can run for hours, especially when coverage is intended to continue through splashdown.
- Open the mission page early. Flight 14’s stated plan was to begin coverage about 30 minutes before liftoff, but another mission may use a different lead time.
- Keep a second official source ready. Open X @SpaceX separately so you can read an update if the video page is temporarily slow.
- Disable disruptive browser behavior. Pause unrelated downloads and close tabs that consume substantial bandwidth or repeatedly play audio.
- Check audio before the countdown. Confirm that the correct browser tab is not muted and that your device volume is set appropriately.
These are general online-viewing precautions, not guarantees about a particular stream’s resolution, buffering behavior, or device compatibility. SpaceX’s mission page remains the place to follow the current webcast instructions.

What to do if the WATCH stream is unavailable
The WATCH control is missing
First confirm that you opened the page for the intended flight. A completed mission, an announcement page, or a page that has not yet opened coverage may not show an active stream. Check the mission status and then look at X @SpaceX for a current webcast notice.
The page loads but video does not start
- Wait briefly and reload once; a stream may be preparing before the player becomes active.
- Check that your browser allows video playback and that the tab is not muted.
- Try the same mission page on a second device or a different current browser.
- Use X @SpaceX to determine whether SpaceX has announced a delay or a changed webcast plan.
A local playback problem and a launch delay can look similar. Do not assume the mission has been scrubbed merely because one device cannot load the player.
The video buffers repeatedly
Pause other high-bandwidth activity, move closer to your wireless access point, or switch to a more stable connection. If the stream remains unavailable, follow the official status posts while the mission page recovers. Avoid treating an unofficial re-upload as confirmation of the live mission state.

A stopped countdown is not a final outcome. Keep the mission page open, read the latest status, and check X @SpaceX for the next official instruction. Wait for SpaceX to state whether the countdown is resuming, entering a hold, or moving to another attempt.

How to use the two official sources together
The mission page should answer “Which flight am I watching?” and “Where is its webcast?” X should answer “Has SpaceX changed anything since I opened the page?” Using both reduces the chance of following a stale schedule.
| If you want to… | Use first | Then verify with |
|---|---|---|
| Start the live video | Mission page and its WATCH control | X @SpaceX if the player or timing is unclear |
| Confirm the mission’s profile | Mission-specific description | Current status on the same page |
| Check a last-minute delay | X @SpaceX | Mission page for the revised webcast or status |
| Determine whether Flight 14 is current or completed | Flight 14 mission record and completed-missions table | X @SpaceX if the listing display is inconsistent |
Do not merge details from separate missions. A webcast duration, altitude, orbit count, splashdown location, or start lead time belongs to the mission page that states it.
What not to assume about future Starship launches
- Do not assume every webcast starts 30 minutes before liftoff. That timing was stated for Flight 14.
- Do not assume every flight lasts nearly 10 hours. The nearly 10-hour duration was part of Flight 14’s plan.
- Do not assume every mission reaches approximately 275 km or completes six orbits. Those figures describe Flight 14’s planned profile.
- Do not assume every stream continues through splashdown. Flight 14’s page planned coverage through splashdown; another mission may have a different plan.
- Do not treat a launch-listing label as a complete schedule. The Flight 14 listing example displayed an upcoming label without a date and time even though other official records marked the mission completed.
These distinctions prevent an accurate Flight 14 description from becoming an inaccurate promise about a later flight.

- Identify the exact Starship flight on SpaceX’s mission page.
- Read the current status and any stated launch window or webcast start.
- Select WATCH on that page when coverage opens.
- Open X @SpaceX in a separate tab for official updates.
- Confirm your device power, connection, browser audio, and screen before coverage begins.
- If the countdown changes, stop using old times and wait for a new official status.
- Keep the mission page available for later phases, especially when the flight plan calls for extended coverage.
For Flight 14 specifically, the mission plan called for approximately 275 km, about six orbits, a nearly 10-hour flight, and a Pacific splashdown west of Chile, with coverage planned through splashdown. Those details help you understand what the page may show, but they should remain labeled as Flight 14’s plan.
Why official sources are the safest reference
A live launch is a moving event: the stream start, countdown, and mission status can change after a schedule is copied elsewhere. The SpaceX mission page is attached to the flight itself, while X @SpaceX is the update channel SpaceX names on that page. Together they provide a direct route to the webcast and the latest official notice without depending on a secondary countdown.
Third-party coverage can be useful for commentary, but it is not necessary to answer where the official webcast is or whether SpaceX has changed the plan. If a secondary page conflicts with SpaceX’s current mission page or X account, use the official sources for the launch status.
