If you have an active Amazon Prime membership in the United States, you can claim the free Grubhub+ benefit through Amazon’s Grubhub+ Prime Offer page, then link a Grubhub account to it. Once linked, the benefit applies for as long as your Prime membership stays active. The setup takes a few minutes, but several rules about what the benefit covers, and what happens when Prime ends, are easy to miss.
Who qualifies
The offer is for U.S. Amazon Prime accounts. Amazon names Prime Student and Prime Access as eligible plans, as long as the membership is active. Both Prime and non-Prime customers can place Grubhub orders and track them on Amazon.com, but only Prime members receive the Prime-linked Grubhub+ benefits.

- An active U.S. Prime, Prime Student, or Prime Access membership.
- An Amazon account that holds that membership and that you can sign in to.
- A Grubhub account, either existing or created during setup.
- The Amazon Shopping app updated to its latest version, which Amazon’s help page recommends for activation.
Activate the offer and link Grubhub
Prime and Grubhub accounts must be linked before the offer can be redeemed. Use the following steps:

- Open Amazon’s Grubhub+ Prime Offer page and activate the offer.
- Connect an existing Grubhub account, or follow the prompts to create one.
- Start an order from the offer page or from the linked Grubhub account. Check the restaurant listing and the checkout screen to confirm that the Grubhub+ benefits are applied before you place the order.
Expect the benefit to appear as a Grubhub+ membership on the linked account. If it does not appear, check the troubleshooting section below before contacting support.

Existing Grubhub+ members
You can claim the Prime offer even if you already pay for Grubhub+. Amazon’s offer terms say that an active paid plan is canceled when you sign up. The Prime-linked membership then starts on the first calendar day after your current billing cycle ends. Check your billing date before you activate so you do not lose paid time you have already prepaid.
If your Amazon and Grubhub accounts use different email addresses, Amazon’s help page describes adding the Amazon connection from your existing Grubhub profile. Before you do this, confirm that the Amazon account is not already linked to another Grubhub profile.
What the free membership includes
Amazon’s Prime offer describes Grubhub+ membership with the following benefits. Each one has conditions.

“$0 delivery fees” does not mean the whole order is free. The subtotal minimum is calculated before tax, tip, and fees. Tax, tip, and any remaining fees are still charged to you.
Rules for the 5% pickup credit
The credit is calculated from the qualifying pickup subtotal and appears at checkout as a payment method labeled Grubhub+ Credit. Amazon’s offer terms set these limits:
- It can only be used on eligible future Grubhub orders.
- It is not cash and cannot be transferred.
- It expires 90 days after the most recent credit is issued, so regular pickup orders keep the balance alive.
- Alcohol purchases and on-campus dining are excluded from specified credit use or accrual.
Where to place your order
Amazon’s materials mention two ordering routes. Merchant selection, delivery availability, and benefit visibility can differ between them and by location, so check both if your preferred restaurant is missing from one.

Amazon’s offer page states that merchant and delivery availability can differ between the Amazon Grubhub digital store, Grubhub.com, and the Grubhub app. Amazon’s terms do not say that prices or fees are different between routes, so check the checkout screen on each route.

Troubleshooting
The benefit does not show at checkout
- Confirm that you are signed in to the Amazon account that holds Prime.
- Confirm that the Prime and Grubhub accounts are linked. Activation alone is not enough.
- Check that the merchant is an eligible Grubhub+ merchant and that your subtotal meets its minimum.
- Update the Amazon Shopping app to the latest version and try again.
The Amazon and Grubhub email addresses do not match
Add the Amazon connection from your existing Grubhub profile rather than creating a second Grubhub account. Make sure the Amazon account is not linked to another Grubhub profile first, because a linked account cannot be connected twice.
The offer was claimed while a paid plan was active
Amazon’s terms cancel the paid plan at signup. The Prime-linked membership begins after your current billing cycle, so the free period does not start immediately. If you were charged after signing up, contact Grubhub support with your billing date and the email on each account.

Standard Grubhub+ price for comparison
Grubhub’s general membership page listed the standard Grubhub+ price as $9.99 per month after any applicable free trial, as of October 7, 2026. That is the general paid rate for members who do not get Grubhub+ through Prime. It is not a charge for the Prime offer, which is free while your Prime membership remains active.

Losing Prime ends the free Grubhub+ membership and its benefits immediately. The offer does not roll over into a paid Grubhub+ subscription on its own. If you restart Prime later, return to the Grubhub+ Prime Offer page and activate it again.
To unlink Grubhub, use the Amazon account settings or the Amazon Pay consents page. If you want help cancelling a Grubhub membership, contact Grubhub support directly.
