To use Google Calendar on a Samsung Galaxy phone, turn on Calendar sync for your Google account in Settings, then select that Google account as the destination when creating events in Samsung Calendar. You can also use Google’s Calendar app or calendar.google.com; installing Google’s app is not required if you prefer Samsung Calendar.
Turn on Google Calendar sync in Samsung settings
- Open Settings > Accounts and backup > Manage accounts. Samsung notes that menu names can vary by device, software version, and app version.
- Tap the Google account you want to use, then open Sync account or the similarly named sync screen.
- Make sure Calendar is turned on. If the option to sync now is available, you can use it to start a manual sync.
Samsung’s localized setup guidance describes this account-level sync route. A similar route appears in the EU Galaxy Z Fold6 manual, though its exact screens are model-specific: Galaxy Z Fold6 User Manual.
Choose where Samsung Calendar saves new events
- Open Samsung Calendar and start creating an event.
- Open the calendar or account selector. Depending on the interface, it may first appear as My calendars.
- Select the Google account’s calendar, complete the event details, and save.
Check that the event appears under the intended account. An event saved to a local calendar or another account may not appear in Google Calendar or at calendar.google.com. Syncing the account does not change the destination of events that were created elsewhere.
Use Samsung Calendar, Google Calendar, or a browser
You do not have to install Google Calendar to see Google events on a Samsung phone. Google supports three approaches: use its Android app after signing in, open calendar.google.com in a browser, or use another calendar app that supports Google account syncing. Choose the app you prefer, but confirm that it supports Google account sync and that you are viewing the right account. Some local or third-party calendars may not support every Google Calendar feature. See Google’s Android sync options.

If Google events are missing
Check visibility and account selection before trying steps that could remove local data. Work through these checks in order:
- Check the connection and update the app. Make sure the phone has Wi-Fi or mobile data and is not in airplane mode. Install available updates for the calendar app.
- Make the calendar visible. In the calendar app, check its calendar list and ensure the missing calendar is selected for display.
- Verify the event’s destination. Open the event and check which calendar or account owns it. Events saved locally or to another account will not necessarily show in Google Calendar.
- Confirm account-level sync. In Android Settings, open the Google account’s sync settings and make sure Calendar is enabled. On many Samsung phones, start at Settings > Accounts and backup > Manage accounts, select the account, then open its sync settings. Labels vary by phone; Google notes some instructions apply only to Android 9.0 and later.
- Check the calendar’s own sync setting. In Google Calendar, open settings for the individual calendar and check Sync, if shown. Google says this control is available for calendars you create, not the primary calendar. Allow time for changes to sync or refresh the app manually.
- Check available storage. Google says the Calendar app stops syncing when device storage runs out. Free up space if the phone is full.
- Use calendar.google.com to check older events. Google’s Android Calendar app syncs past events only up to one year; older events can be viewed at calendar.google.com. See Google’s sync troubleshooting guide.
Keep clearing app storage as a last resort
Clearing Calendar app storage can remove unsynced event data that is not present in Google Calendar on the web. Before doing this, check calendar.google.com and verify the correct account and calendar. Samsung also warns that incorrect sync configuration can lead to events being deleted; its guidance says the most recently modified data is used during synchronization. Confirm the account and event destination before changing sync settings.

When events show in Google Calendar but not another app
Google has a setting called Share Google Calendar data with other apps. Turning it off can affect third-party calendar apps, widgets, and other apps that use Android’s Calendar Provider. Google says its own apps signed in with the account are not affected. If events remain visible in Google Calendar but disappear from Samsung Calendar or a widget, check this setting. Adding or removing another Google account
Google Calendar can show multiple Google accounts. Add another account through the app’s account controls, then make sure its calendar is enabled and visible. To stop syncing one account on the phone, manage that account in device settings and turn off Calendar in its sync options; this affects syncing for that account on the device.
