If you’re wondering how to use Expedia rewards points, Expedia now calls its rewards balance OneKeyCash. Sign in, choose eligible travel, and look for the OneKeyCash option at checkout. If it’s offered, select the amount Expedia allows, review the updated total, and complete the booking. The option is not available for every booking, and OneKeyCash is a promotional balance—not cash.
The official terms cited here are Expedia’s U.S.-facing One Key Terms and Conditions, effective July 28, 2026. Terms and eligibility can vary by market, participating brand, offer, and booking. Check the balance and any conditions shown in your account and at checkout.
How to redeem Expedia OneKeyCash
- Sign in to the Expedia account that holds the available OneKeyCash.
- Choose eligible travel and proceed to checkout.
- Check the payment options. If the booking qualifies, Expedia will offer OneKeyCash and indicate the amount you can apply.
- Review the revised total and the payment method for any remaining amount, then complete the booking.
Expedia says available OneKeyCash can be used toward future eligible bookings on Expedia and other participating brands, subject to the applicable terms. Expedia’s One Key discounts and OneKeyCash help page explains the checkout process. Pending OneKeyCash cannot be redeemed; it must first become available in your account.

Eligibility depends on the booking and its payment terms. Expedia’s terms describe these possibilities:

- Short-term rentals, car rentals, and activities: Some participating bookings may qualify. For car rentals and activities, Expedia specifies Pay Now bookings; not every rental is eligible, and supplier-direct charges may be excluded.
- Packages: Select Expedia packages may allow OneKeyCash on eligible portions. Eligibility is determined separately for each component.
- Flights: Only eligible airlines qualify, and the rules are stricter: your available balance must cover the entire flight cost, including taxes and fees. OneKeyCash cannot cover seat selection, baggage, or flight changes.
If you don’t see a OneKeyCash option, the booking may be ineligible. For flights, Expedia also identifies an insufficient balance or added extras as possible reasons the option may not appear.
Payment rules and restrictions
- Partial payments: If you apply OneKeyCash but it doesn’t cover the eligible booking amount, the remaining balance generally must be paid by credit or debit card.
- Pay Later and installment payments: OneKeyCash cannot be used on Pay Later bookings or with buy-now-pay-later payment methods.
- No cash value: OneKeyCash cannot be redeemed for cash or transferred to another member.
- Combining benefits: It generally cannot be combined with gift cards, coupons, upgrades, awards, or promotions unless the applicable terms allow it.

OneKeyCash, Member Prices, and earning rewards are different
OneKeyCash redemption applies an existing available balance toward a future eligible booking. A Member Price is a discount on the booking you’re making now. Expedia says a booking may receive a Member Price and earn OneKeyCash for a later trip, but the two benefits have separate eligibility rules.

Expedia’s One Key terms, effective July 28, 2026, list base earning rates of 1% for Blue, 2% for Silver and Gold, and 3% for Platinum per eligible dollar, excluding taxes and fees. These are earning rates for specified eligible bookings—not a conversion rate for redeeming a balance, and not a guarantee that every product earns at that rate. Check the terms for the booking you make.

When does OneKeyCash expire?
Under Expedia’s general terms, base and preferred-inventory OneKeyCash do not expire if your account makes an eligible booking or redemption at least once every 18 months. Promotional OneKeyCash may have different expiry dates under its offer terms. Check your balance in Rewards Activity and review the conditions attached to the specific reward.
