How do I get iTunes on a Samsung phone? You can’t install the desktop iTunes app on Samsung’s Android phones. To stream Apple’s music service, install Apple Music from Google Play and sign in. If you mean music already in your iTunes library, the right option depends on how that library is stored.
What “iTunes on Samsung” means
Apple’s Android app is Apple Music, not the desktop iTunes application. Apple also treats iTunes Match as a separate service and says it is not available for Android devices. So the practical Samsung-phone route is Apple Music; iTunes Match is not a way to add the desktop iTunes app or its service to Android. Apple’s iTunes Match guidance describes that limitation.
Install Apple Music and sign in
- Open Google Play on your Samsung phone and install Apple Music. Apple lists Android phones and tablets as supported device types; download availability and any local alternatives can vary by region. See Apple’s Android setup instructions.
- Open Apple Music. If you already subscribe, tap Sign In. If you do not see that prompt, go to More > Sign In. Use the Apple Account associated with your subscription.
- If you do not have a subscription, follow the offer shown in the app: sign in with an Apple Account or create one, choose an available plan, and complete the billing steps. Plan availability and pricing vary by country and can change, so check what the app currently offers in your location.
Access an existing Apple music library
Installing Apple Music does not by itself bring an existing cloud library onto the phone. To access a library synced through Apple, use Sync Library. Apple says it requires an Apple Music subscription or an iTunes Match subscription, and the devices involved must use the relevant Apple Account. With Apple Music, you can stream the synced library. Transfer playlists from another music service
If your music is in another supported service rather than an Apple cloud library, Apple documents a transfer workflow in the Android Apple Music app. This is a migration option, not a way to install iTunes.
- In Apple Music, go to More > Settings > Transfer Music from Other Music Services.
- Choose a supported service and sign in to that service.
- Select the music and playlists you want to transfer, then add the results to your Apple Music library.
The transfer feature requires an Apple Music subscription and Sync Library. Availability depends on the source service and region. Apple’s matching process may offer alternatives or fail to match some tracks, and only playlists you created can be transferred. Check Apple’s transfer instructions for the currently supported services and steps.

The desktop iTunes application and iTunes Match are not Android installation options. For a Samsung phone, use Apple Music for streaming, syncing an eligible Apple library, or transferring supported content.
