Android’s built-in counterpart to iPhone Vehicle Motion Cues is called Motion assist. On a device running Android 17 or later with updated Google Play Services, open Settings and search for “Motion assist,” then enable Start in a moving vehicle if you want it to activate automatically during a ride. The feature is for passengers, not drivers.
What Android Motion assist does
Apple’s Vehicle Motion Cues and Google’s Motion assist are separate features with similar purposes: they put visual cues on the display to help a passenger use a phone while riding in a vehicle. Apple describes animated dots along the screen edges. Google’s instructions describe Motion assist as an option for people using an Android device as a passenger.
Google’s feature is not the iPhone feature ported to Android, and its name in Android settings is Motion assist. Google’s help page explains how to access it and what the device requires, but does not provide clinical evidence that it prevents or treats motion sickness. Google’s Motion assist instructions

Check whether your Android phone supports it
Google specifies two requirements: Android 17 or higher and updated Google Play Services. Google does not publish a model-by-model availability list in its instructions, so check the setting on your own phone rather than assuming support based on its brand or model.

- Check that the phone is running Android 17 or later.
- Check for an update to Google Play Services.
- Search Settings for “Motion assist.” If the setting appears, open it to configure the feature.
Turn on Motion assist
- Open Settings and search for Motion assist. Google also documents this path: Settings > your profile > All services > Personal & device safety > Motion assist.
- Open Motion assist.
- Turn on Start in a moving vehicle if you want the phone to activate it automatically when it detects travel.
If you meet the Android and Google Play Services requirements but cannot find the setting, availability may differ by device. Google’s cited instructions do not identify specific supported models.

If Motion assist is missing: consider a third-party app
KineStop: Car sickness aid is listed on Google Play as an Android app that says it simulates a horizon and overlays cues so users can continue using other apps. Its listing says it may request Accessibility Service access to show cues over the screen, notifications, and lock screen, and that it includes in-app purchases. Those are details and claims from the app listing, not independent evidence that the app works or prevents motion sickness. Review the app’s permissions and listing before deciding whether to install it: KineStop on Google Play.

Do not use a phone while driving. Apple explicitly warns against using Vehicle Motion Cues while operating a moving vehicle or in another situation where attention is required for safety. Google presents Motion assist for someone using an Android device as a passenger. These visual cues do not replace safe travel practices.
