Yes. An Apple Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad can work with a Windows laptop as standard Bluetooth input devices. In Windows 11, enable Bluetooth, put each accessory into its model-specific discoverable mode, and pair it through Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Add device > Bluetooth. Basic typing, clicking, and pointer movement should work once pairing succeeds.
The important limitation is that a Bluetooth connection is not the same as full Apple-feature support. Key labels, modifier behavior, media keys, right-click methods, and multitouch gestures can differ in Windows. Some Windows gestures require a Precision Touchpad, and the default Windows driver may not expose every gesture from every Magic Trackpad generation. Apple’s Boot Camp instructions also apply to Windows running on an Intel-based Mac, not to a Windows laptop made by another manufacturer.
What you need before pairing
There are two separate questions: can Windows establish a Bluetooth connection, and will Windows provide the functions you expect from an Apple accessory? Check the first before troubleshooting the second.
A Windows laptop with working Bluetooth
Open Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices. If the Bluetooth switch is present, turn it on. The laptop must have Bluetooth hardware and a functioning driver. If the setting is missing, the radio may be disabled, the driver may not be installed, or the computer may not include Bluetooth.

When the laptop has no Bluetooth hardware, a USB Bluetooth adapter can add it. Install the adapter’s Windows driver if Windows does not do so automatically, restart if requested, and then check for the Bluetooth switch again. An adapter is only necessary when the built-in radio is absent or unusable.
An Apple keyboard or trackpad with power
Charge the Magic Keyboard or Magic Trackpad, or replace its batteries if you have an older wireless model. Keep the accessory close to the laptop during setup. Apple’s current Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad use Bluetooth when switched on and paired, but the exact discoverable-mode behavior varies by generation. Follow the instructions for the specific model instead of assuming that every Apple wireless device enters pairing mode in the same way.
The right expectation about support
Windows can pair Bluetooth keyboards and mice as input devices. It does not promise that every Apple-specific key, media function, modifier convention, or multitouch gesture will behave exactly as it does in macOS. Treat basic keyboard input and pointer movement as the baseline; regard special functions as model- and driver-dependent.

Pairing advice often gets confused because Apple also publishes Boot Camp documentation. These are different setups.

Apple’s Boot Camp page says a Bluetooth wireless device should first be paired with the Mac in macOS before using it with Windows under Boot Camp. That is not the procedure for a Dell, Lenovo, HP, or other third-party Windows laptop. On those computers, pair the accessory directly in Windows.

How to pair a Mac keyboard or trackpad in Windows 11
- Open Bluetooth settings. Select Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices, then switch Bluetooth on. You can also open the Bluetooth quick setting and use its device list, but the full Settings page is easier for managing a failed or old pairing.
- Prepare the Apple accessory. Turn on the Magic Keyboard or Magic Trackpad and make it discoverable using the instructions for that model. If it was recently connected to another computer, turn Bluetooth off on that computer or remove the old connection temporarily. A device that is still actively connected elsewhere may not appear to the Windows laptop.
- Start a new Bluetooth search. In Settings, choose Add device > Bluetooth. Wait while Windows scans for nearby devices. Keep the accessory close to the laptop and leave it powered on during the scan.
- Select the accessory. Click the keyboard or trackpad name when it appears. Windows may display a pairing code or ask you to confirm a prompt. Complete that prompt; a keyboard may require typing a displayed code and pressing Enter.
- Test the basic input. Open a text box and type a short sentence with the keyboard. Move the pointer, click, and scroll with the trackpad. Testing both devices immediately tells you whether a later problem is a Bluetooth connection issue or a feature-support issue.
- Allow automatic reconnection. After successful pairing, Windows normally reconnects the accessory when it is nearby and Bluetooth is enabled. Turn the accessory off when transporting it or when you want to conserve its battery.
If the accessory does not appear
- Confirm Bluetooth is on in Windows and that the accessory is powered and discoverable.
- Move the device within a short distance of the laptop and keep other Bluetooth devices away during the first scan.
- Disconnect it from another computer or phone that may have claimed the connection.
- Turn the accessory off and on, then repeat Add device > Bluetooth.
- Remove an old entry under Settings > Bluetooth & devices, restart Bluetooth, and add the device again.
- Check the laptop manufacturer’s support page for a current Bluetooth driver if the Bluetooth switch is present but scanning consistently fails.
Windows discovery settings can affect whether nearby devices are shown. If the device remains invisible after these checks, test the laptop with another Bluetooth keyboard or mouse. That separates an Apple-accessory problem from a laptop radio or driver problem.
Using the Apple keyboard after it connects
Basic typing
Windows should accept ordinary letter, number, punctuation, and navigation input from a paired Apple keyboard. The physical labels reflect Mac conventions, while Windows documentation and shortcuts assume Windows conventions. For example, the key labeled Command is not automatically a Windows key in every model and driver combination, and the location of Option, Control, and Alt can feel different from a standard PC keyboard.
When a shortcut seems wrong, test the modifier keys individually in a text editor and in a browser. The issue may be a different label-to-function mapping rather than a failed Bluetooth connection. Windows still receives the key signal; it may simply interpret that signal differently from macOS.
Function row and media keys
Volume, brightness, playback, screen-lock, and other media functions vary by keyboard generation and Windows driver. A keyboard can type correctly while its top-row special functions do nothing or perform an unexpected action. Do not assume that a feature shown on the keycap is built into Windows support for every Apple model.
First check the keyboard’s model-specific documentation and the Windows version. Avoid installing random key-remapping software merely because one key is unfamiliar. If you need a particular modifier layout or media key, choose software that explicitly lists your model and Windows architecture, and create a restore point before changing keyboard drivers.

Optional third-party driver support
Magic Utilities is an independent Windows software vendor that advertises optional drivers for Apple keyboards and related devices. Its pages describe modifier-key mapping, media and volume functions, and support for Windows 10 and Windows 11 with Bluetooth or USB connections. Those are vendor claims, not guarantees from Apple or Microsoft.

- Your exact keyboard generation is listed.
- Your Windows edition and 32-bit or 64-bit architecture are supported.
- The utility is still maintained for your Windows release.
- You understand whether it replaces, supplements, or conflicts with the built-in HID driver.
- You know how to uninstall it and restore the default Windows driver if the keyboard stops working.
Install optional software only after the built-in Bluetooth pairing works. That keeps connection failures separate from mapping or media-key problems.
Using an Apple Magic Trackpad in Windows
What basic support means
After pairing, Windows should provide pointer movement and primary clicking. Scrolling, right-clicking, pinch-to-zoom, and multitouch actions depend on the trackpad generation and the driver Windows uses for it. A Bluetooth connection alone does not prove that every macOS gesture will be available.
Windows gestures you may be able to use
Microsoft documents the following touchpad actions for Windows. They describe Windows touchpad support generally; they are not a guarantee that every external Magic Trackpad exposes every action through its default driver.

Microsoft states: “Some of these touchpad gestures only work with precision touchpads.” A Magic Trackpad connected by Bluetooth is not automatically a Windows Precision Touchpad. If a gesture is missing, open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Touchpad and inspect the available options. The presence or absence of gesture controls is useful evidence about what the current driver exposes.
How to right-click
Try a two-finger tap first. On a supported configuration, pressing the lower-right area also opens the context menu. If neither action works, use the keyboard’s context-menu shortcut or connect a conventional mouse for right-clicking. Do not press harder or repeatedly change settings expecting a macOS Force Touch feature to appear; Windows may not receive that feature from the connected trackpad.
Customizing gestures
When Windows exposes gesture settings, use Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Touchpad to select scrolling direction, pointer speed, and available three- or four-finger actions. The list shown by Windows is the authoritative list for that laptop and driver. If an option is absent, the default driver is not exposing it.

Bluetooth is missing from Settings
Open Device Manager and look for a Bluetooth adapter, then install the laptop maker’s current Bluetooth driver if the adapter has a warning icon. If the computer has no adapter, use a compatible USB Bluetooth adapter. Reboot after driver installation and return to Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
The keyboard or trackpad was paired but will not reconnect
Make sure Bluetooth is enabled, the accessory is charged, and it is not connected to another computer. In Windows, select the accessory under Settings > Bluetooth & devices, choose to remove it, restart Bluetooth, and pair it again. Older Apple wireless devices are especially sensitive to low battery and an existing connection elsewhere.

The keyboard types, but a key or shortcut is wrong
That usually indicates a layout or modifier mismatch rather than a radio failure. Test the same key in a plain text editor, check Windows keyboard-layout settings, and consult the exact keyboard model’s support information. If you need Mac-style modifier placement or media controls, evaluate a model-specific third-party driver instead of replacing the keyboard’s firmware or installing several remappers at once.
The trackpad moves the pointer but does not scroll or right-click
Basic pointer support can work even when multitouch support is absent. Check the Touchpad settings page, update the laptop’s chipset and Bluetooth drivers, and test the accessory on another supported Windows computer if available. If no gesture controls appear, the Windows driver may not identify that Magic Trackpad generation as a Precision Touchpad. A third-party driver may help, but its compatibility must be verified for the exact model and Windows version.
Pairing fails with a code or timeout
Start over with the accessory close to the laptop, remove any stale Windows pairing, and ensure no nearby Mac, tablet, or phone is trying to connect. For keyboards, type the displayed pairing code exactly and press Enter. If the code prompt disappears, cancel the attempt and run Add device > Bluetooth again.

Microsoft states that Windows 10 support ended on October 14, 2025. A Windows 10 laptop may still pair with Bluetooth hardware, but it no longer has the same supported lifecycle as Windows 11. Before troubleshooting drivers or buying software, check whether the laptop can move to a supported Windows release and whether the accessory utility you are considering still supports that release.
Choosing between built-in support and extra software
Use the built-in Windows path when you need reliable typing, clicking, pointer movement, and the gestures that Windows already exposes. It has fewer moving parts and is easier to undo.
Consider an optional utility only when you have a specific unmet need, such as remapping Command and Option, enabling media keys, or obtaining additional Apple-device functions. Compare the utility’s listed model coverage, Windows version and architecture support, update history, price and license terms, and uninstall procedure. Because independent vendors self-report these capabilities, confirm current details before installing.
