To use Air Fry on a compatible Samsung oven, check your model’s manual, place its Air Fry tray at the specified rack position, and put an oven-safe drip-catching sheet below it. Samsung’s common U.S. instructions call for rack position 3, no preheating, and a default of 425°F—but feature availability and rack placement vary by model and configuration.
First, confirm your oven supports Air Fry
Air Fry is not available on every Samsung oven. Find the model code on the appliance and check its manual or Samsung’s mode guide; Samsung says available modes depend on the model. Its model support page links owners to manuals. Use the instructions for your exact model rather than assuming that a rack position or control sequence applies to every oven.
Samsung’s U.S. guidance says twin-cooking models should be set to Single oven mode for Air Fry. A separate NV7000B dual-cook manual describes Air Fry in a specific upper-zone configuration, so do not combine those instructions with the standard U.S. setup. Follow the manual supplied for your oven and region.
Set up Air Fry in a compatible U.S. oven
- Check the manual and tray. Use the Air Fry tray compatible with your model. Samsung describes it as designed for the feature; if it was not included, a model-matched tray may be available separately. Do not assume one tray fits every oven.
- Position the tray and catch drippings. For models covered by Samsung’s common U.S. instructions, put the Air Fry tray at rack position 3, counting from the bottom. Place an oven-safe baking sheet or tray on the rack below it. Check that the lower pan is rated for the cooking temperature. Samsung says a little water in the lower pan may also help reduce smoking.
- Select Air Fry and set the temperature. Samsung’s U.S. support page lists 425°F as the default and 350°F to 500°F as the adjustable range. Choose a setting that fits the recipe or package directions and your model’s manual; the default is not a universal recommendation for every food.
- Skip preheating unless your model’s instructions say otherwise. Samsung’s cited U.S. guidance says preheating is unnecessary. Control-panel options vary, but if your oven permits Cook Time or Delay Start, set them only as needed for the recipe.
- Start the cycle and keep the door closed as much as practical. Samsung notes that opening the door loses heat and makes it harder to maintain temperature. Use care when removing the hot tray and drip pan.
Rack placement can differ. For example, a Samsung NV7000B built-in dual-cook manual describes the upper oven with the divider inserted and the tray with wire rack at position 4; the lower zone is unavailable while Air Fry runs in the upper zone. That is a model-specific arrangement, not a replacement for the position-3 instructions above. A Samsung-published Dacor oven manual also specifies position 3 for its model.

Get more even, crisp results
Give food room and use a suitable coating
A Dacor manual says its Air Fry mode is designed for one rack. Avoid treating it as a multi-rack setting unless your own manual permits that. For homemade food, the manual recommends distributing oil evenly; it also cautions that wet or thick coatings may not crisp or cook effectively. These are manufacturer instructions for the cited Dacor model, not a guarantee for every Samsung oven.
Use recipe timing as a guide
Follow the recipe or package directions and adjust for your oven and the amount of food. Samsung’s turkey guidance estimates roughly 8–10 minutes per pound and suggests a lower rack position for a very large bird. That is a rough estimate, not a safe-doneness test: check the bird’s internal temperature with a food thermometer and account for the particular oven and turkey.

Reduce smoke from fatty foods
Foods that release a lot of fat—such as wings, bacon, sausage, and turkey legs—can smoke, according to the Dacor manual. The drip-catching pan helps collect grease and reduce splatter, but ventilation matters too.

- Keep the oven door closed as much as practical during cooking.
- After the oven cools, wipe away grease and residue inside it.
- Clean the hood’s grease filters regularly.
Clean the Air Fry tray safely
Samsung’s U.S. guidance says to soak the tray in lukewarm, soapy water if needed, then scrub residue with a plastic scouring pad. The tray is listed as dishwasher-safe in that guidance. Remove it before running Self Clean: extreme heat can damage the tray and permanently peel its coating.

When a different tray position or setup applies
Use the exact manual when your oven has dual-cook compartments, a divider, or a regional configuration unlike the standard U.S. setup. Samsung’s published manuals show that rack placement can vary—for example, position 4 in the specified NV7000B upper-zone arrangement versus position 3 in common U.S. guidance. Check the full configuration, including the divider and wire rack, rather than changing rack position based on another model’s instructions.
