Hero Pieces do not have one documented, universal use in Rumble Heroes. Official notes describe Demon Soul Sai Pieces as a way to level up that hero’s skill, Growth Path fragments as fragments for a selected owned legendary hero, and Hero Potential essence as a separate upgrade material. The current menu path and cost for ordinary Hero Pieces are not established in the official notes cited here, so don’t assume every item labeled “Piece” is spent the same way.
How do I upgrade heroes in Rumble Heroes?
First identify the exact material and the hero system it belongs to. The official notes document several distinct progression systems, not one shared Hero Pieces workflow:
| Material or system | Documented use | What to keep in mind |
|---|---|---|
| Demon Soul Sai Pieces | Level up Demon Soul Sai’s skill after you obtain the hero. | This is a hero-specific use, not proof that Pieces for other heroes work the same way. PLAYHARD’s August 29, 2024 update notes. |
| Growth Path fragments | Obtain fragments for a selected legendary hero you already own. | The same update notes say a fragment cannot be exchanged for another hero. The notes described the offer as available for purchase starting September 1, 2024; that is historical information, not confirmation it is currently available. PLAYHARD’s August 29, 2024 update notes. |
| Hero Potential essence | Upgrade Hero Potential; the amount required varies by hero. | The notes identify this material as essence, not Hero Pieces. PLAYHARD’s March 29, 2024 update notes. |
| Abyss Summon Stones and Abyss Pass | Participate in seasonal Abyss summons and earn pass rewards. | These are documented as part of the seasonal Abyss system, not as ordinary Hero Pieces. PLAYHARD’s June 21, 2026 update notes. |
For Demon Soul Sai, the documented sequence is acquisition first, then using that hero’s Pieces to level the hero’s skill. The notes do not provide a current screen-by-screen path or a Piece cost, so check the hero’s in-game skill or upgrade screen rather than relying on a guessed menu route.

The answer depends on the full item name and its associated system. The clearest official example is Demon Soul Sai Pieces, which are used to level Demon Soul Sai’s skill after acquisition. Growth Path fragments and Hero Potential essence are separate materials with different purposes; their names should not be treated as interchangeable with Hero Pieces.

The August 29, 2024 notes describe Growth Path this way: “GROWTH PATH allows you to select the legendary hero you have and obtain fragments of that hero.” They also state: “If you obtain a hero fragment, you cannot exchange it for another hero.” Those are rules recorded in that dated update, not a guarantee that the feature or its terms remain unchanged.

The published official notes cited here do not establish the current menu path, eligible heroes, or cost for ordinary Hero Pieces as a category. Because the documented uses differ by item and system, there is no supported universal instruction such as spending every Piece in the same hero menu.

Rumble Heroes is listed as an iOS and Android game on the official site. The Apple App Store listing showed version 2.2.135 on October 7, 2026, illustrating that the game continues to receive updates; version information can change. The more recent June 21, 2026 update notes cover seasonal Abyss content, but do not clarify the ordinary Hero Pieces procedure.
