Upgrade efficiently by treating The King of Fighters AFK as several connected but distinct progression systems: Fighter Level Up and Awakening strengthen individual fighters, while Console Skill Packs provide account-wide stats. Advance through dungeons and challenges, claim available event and login rewards, and check the live client’s costs before spending scarce materials. The available official information does not establish a universally best fighter to prioritize or a precise resource-efficiency formula.
Understand the progression layers first
Not every power-up improves the same thing. Before spending a resource, identify which system it belongs to and whether its effect is fighter-specific or account-wide.
- Fighter Level Up: A fighter-specific progression system. The US App Store listing promotes one-tap power-ups and records a September 16 version-history entry describing faster Fighter Level Up; the retrieved listing does not state the year for that entry. See the US App Store listing.
- Fighter Awakening: Another fighter-specific system. Netmarble’s official challenge tips identify Tarot Cards earned through Challenge modes as Awakening materials. See Netmarble’s challenge tips.
- Console Skill Packs: An account-progression layer, not simply another way to level one fighter. Netmarble says acquiring a pack grants an Active Effect that increases account stats. Duplicate packs grant Skill Pack Cards, which are used to upgrade the pack and apply its Star Level Effect. For the pack’s effects, the notice points players to Main Screen → Console → Skill Pack. Read the official Console Skill Pack notice.
- Other power-up systems: The App Store’s version history records additions including Keepsakes, as well as expanded stages, dungeons, and Club Research Lab nodes. That history shows the progression landscape has changed over time; it is not a complete list of what is currently available in every version or region. Check the listing’s version history.
Build progress through the available growth loop
Netmarble’s challenge guidance presents Starter and Elite Dungeons as account-growth activities and identifies Challenge modes as a source of Tarot Cards. The US App Store listing also advertises event and login rewards. Use the modes and rewards currently available to your account, but do not assume that one is the most efficient source: the cited material does not establish comparative drop rates or rewards per unit of time.

Open the fighter or progression system you intend to improve and inspect its current requirement before farming or spending.
- Play the relevant available content. Use Starter and Elite Dungeons and Challenge content as part of account progression; target Challenge modes when you need the documented Tarot Card material for Awakening.
- Claim rewards when offered. Collect event and login rewards available in your client, then check whether they meet a specific upgrade requirement.
- Review the requirement again before committing. Costs and available systems can change; the current in-game screen is the practical authority for what your account needs now.
Spend scarce materials with a simple decision check
There is no verified cost curve, upgrade breakpoint table, or comparison of returns for different fighters in the available official material. So an exact universal priority list would be guesswork. Instead, compare an upgrade using the information shown in your own client:

- What receives the benefit? Distinguish a single fighter’s level or Awakening from an account-wide Console Skill Pack effect.
- What does the next upgrade require? Check the listed materials, currency, and any unlock conditions in the relevant screen.
- Where can you obtain what is missing? Match the required material to a currently available dungeon, challenge, event, or other source shown in the game.
- What changes at this step? Confirm the effect or unlock granted by the next level or star level, rather than spending on the assumption that every upgrade has equal value.
This comparison helps avoid mixing resources or farming for the wrong system. It does not prove which fighter, pack, or activity offers the highest return.

The King of Fighters AFK has received additions to its progression content, including Console, Club Battle, Keepsakes, and Club Research Lab nodes in the App Store’s version history. Names and systems from other King of Fighters games may work differently here. When a guide or tip uses an unfamiliar system name, confirm that it matches the current AFK client and its displayed requirements before following it.

Visit the official game site. Treat that broad description as context, not a guarantee that every resource accumulates while offline or that a particular upgrade is automatic.
