The duty’s story follows the events at Labyrinth of the Ancients. Unei and Doga help open the tower, and completing the earlier Crystal Tower questline is necessary to reach this part of the story. The official duty record identifies Syrcus Tower as a level 50 raid. See the official duty record for its current entry requirements.
Party size and entry requirements

The official duty listing specifies an average item level of 70, a 120-minute time limit, and level sync on entry. Restrictions are lifted for a registered 24-member alliance.

Raid route and boss mechanics
The usual progression is Scylla, Glasya Labolas, Amon, and Xande, with enemy-filled corridors between encounters. The mechanics below are summarized from a community encounter guide, not an official Square Enix walkthrough. In a typical run, high damage can shorten fights or skip mechanics. Use the markers and casts you actually see rather than assuming every group will encounter every mechanic. Read the community Syrcus Tower encounter guide for further detail.
Scylla: handle the orbs and prepare for Daybreak
Scylla’s key coordination is managing elemental orbs. Lightning orbs charge the arena pillars, which are needed to deal with Daybreak. Ice orbs freeze players and leave water when they thaw; flame orbs can thaw frozen players. When Ancient Flare is cast, standing in the water reduces the fire damage. In the later phase, use the water for the flare cast rather than leaving it unused.

Glasya Labolas: watch the platform and intercept add lines
The community guide recommends keeping Glasya Labolas near the center of its circular platform. Watch for conal attacks and attacks aimed at individual players. Later, Clockwork Wright adds appear; intercept their energy lines so the adds can be killed.

Amon: respond to transformations and add mechanics
Amon’s encounter includes transformations and interactions with adds. The community guide describes freezing a converted player to help handle Curtain Call. The same page notes an ice-shield bug in June 2024 that was hotfixed on June 29, 2024; that is historical context, not evidence of a current unresolved problem.

- A new adventure awaits in Norvrandt
- New jobs, including gun breaker and dancer
- New playable races: Viera and Hrothgar
- Level cap increase from 70 to 80
- New cities to explore: The Crystarium and Eulmore
Xande: follow markers and use the platforms
Xande’s mechanics include marked attacks, moments to stack together, and moments to spread out. During the Ancient Quake or Ancient Quaga sequence, use the arena platforms as indicated by the encounter. Since fast groups may skip parts of the fight, respond to the cast names and markers that appear in your run.
