In ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE, skins come from more than one route: the F-4E “MOBIUS SQUADRON” and F/A-18 C “TEAM ZVEZDA” skins are included with certain editions, while other online customizations can appear as ACE PASS rewards. The two edition skins are for online multiplayer initially; the publisher says they become usable in Campaign Mode after you complete the campaign.
How skin unlocks work in Ace Combat 8
There is no single unlock method for every skin. The official guide identifies two named aircraft skins in the Customizable Cosmetic Set, and describes ACE PASS as a separate seasonal progression system that can reward aircraft and avatar customization. For an individual skin not named in the edition list, check the active ACE PASS reward track in-game; the publisher’s guide does not specify every skin’s rank, challenge, or season level.
How to get the Mobius Squadron and Team Zvezda skins
Bandai Namco lists both aircraft skins in the Customizable Cosmetic Set included with the Deluxe Edition, Joker Flight Pack, and Premium Joker Flight Pack. The set also includes Tasha’s costume for the multiplayer lobby and Scarlet missile-smoke customization for online multiplayer aircraft. See the publisher’s edition and content guide.

The publisher says these two skins become available in Campaign Mode after the campaign is completed. Its guide does not give a menu path for equipping them or say that they are earned by completing a particular mission, so those steps should not be assumed.

How ACE PASS progression can unlock customization
ACE PASS tracks your activity in ACE COMBAT ONLINE. The publisher describes a standard track and a premium track, with new rewards added every two months. Completing online missions earns currency and experience; experience raises your mercenary rank in the current season, and higher-rank rewards can include upgrades, consumables, aircraft, and avatar customization. What the premium voucher does
A Premium ACE Pass Plus voucher opens the current season’s premium track and instantly grants 30 premium levels. The Deluxe Edition and the listed collector packs include a voucher. That boost applies to the premium track; it does not establish that every skin is premium-only, since the publisher also describes customization among rank rewards generally.

Campaign and online unlocks are separate
ACE COMBAT ONLINE has its own save data and progression, separate from Campaign Mode. The publisher describes online play as supporting cross-play, co-op, PvP, and PvPvE activities, with lobbies for up to 100 players. It also says seasonal rewards can include aircraft skins. Do not assume that an online unlock automatically carries into the campaign: the two named edition skins have an explicit campaign condition—finish the campaign first—and that does not prove a general transfer rule for every cosmetic. - For the Mobius Squadron or Team Zvezda skin: confirm that the edition you own includes the Customizable Cosmetic Set, then complete Campaign Mode if you want to use either in the campaign. The publisher’s guide does not specify the equipment-menu sequence.
- For another online skin: open the active ACE PASS track in-game and check its listed rewards and requirements. Complete online missions to earn currency and experience, then progress your current-season mercenary rank.
