To unlock what many players call “Pumpkin Town,” bring Jack Skellington to your Valley: unlock the Forgotten Lands, complete Fairy Godmother’s “Miracles Take Time,” then finish Merlin’s “Something Comes A’Knocking.” The game calls the area the Forgotten Lands, not Pumpkin Town; Jack’s pumpkin-carved tree and Halloween Town arrival are likely what the nickname refers to.
What “Pumpkin Town” refers to
Disney Dreamlight Valley does not identify a separate unlockable location called Pumpkin Town. The named biome is the Forgotten Lands, and Jack Skellington arrives through a quest involving a pumpkin-carved tree. Gameloft’s June 7, 2023 announcement describes the Forgotten Lands as a biome to explore, while the game’s official update announcement refers to the mysterious tree connected with Jack’s arrival: Gameloft announcement.
Requirements to unlock Jack Skellington
- Access to the Forgotten Lands, which are northwest of the Valley and connected to the Sunlit Plateau.
- Completion of Fairy Godmother’s “Miracles Take Time.”
- Four Matryoshka Dolls, found around the Valley as you progress through the quest.
- A place to set Jack Skellington’s House and the required construction payment at Scrooge McDuck’s sign.
The current Forgotten Lands reference lists 10,000 Dreamlight to clear the entrance thorns. Older guides report different biome-access costs, so check the in-game gate and your current quest details rather than relying on dated totals.
Unlock Jack Skellington step by step
- Open the Forgotten Lands. Clear the entrance thorns for the listed 10,000 Dreamlight. The biome is in the northwest, beyond the Sunlit Plateau.
- Complete “Miracles Take Time.” Finish Fairy Godmother’s quest. This is the prerequisite for “Something Comes A’Knocking”; Jack’s tree and the dolls appear after the prerequisite is met.
- Pick up a Matryoshka Doll. Search the ground around the Valley. Picking up the first doll starts Merlin’s “Something Comes A’Knocking.”
- Collect all four dolls. They spawn in different places around the Valley. Follow the quest objectives and bring each doll to the pumpkin-carved tree in the Forgotten Lands.
- Place the dolls in the tree. Interact with the tree and place all four dolls as the quest directs. Jack appears after the fourth doll is placed.
- Build Jack’s House. Speak to Jack, place his house in the Valley, then pay at the construction sign operated by Scrooge McDuck.
- Speak to Jack again. Return to Jack after the house is built to complete the final quest step and finish his arrival.
Dreamlight and house costs: what is confirmed
The current Forgotten Lands listing gives an entrance cost of 10,000 Dreamlight. PC Gamer’s October 2024 walkthrough instead lists 7,000 Dreamlight for the Sunlit Plateau and 15,000 for the Forgotten Lands; those older figures conflict with the current listing, so they should not be treated as the present cost. The quest and character references confirm that Jack’s house must be constructed, but do not give a current price. PC Gamer’s October 2024 guide reports 5,000 Star Coins for the house; verify the amount at Scrooge’s construction sign in your game.
