Goofy’s best weapon choices in Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix are shields, and the right one depends on what you want it to do. Ultimate Mushroom offers the strongest cited Strength rating plus damage absorption and Protectga; Save the King boosts item use, while Save the King+ adds MP Rage. For an earlier Coliseum option, win the Titan Cup to earn Genji Shield.
Which Goofy shield should you unlock?
These shields serve different builds rather than forming a single upgrade path. The figures and abilities below are listed in the Kingdom Hearts Wiki shield reference.
| Shield | Strength | Ability or effect | How to get it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Genji Shield | +6 | Lucky Lucky | Win the Titan Cup |
| Save the King | +9 | Item Boost | Synthesize it at a Moogle using the King Recipe |
| Save the King+ | +9 | MP Rage | Final Mix upgrade of Save the King |
| Ultimate Mushroom | +9 | Protectga and absorbs 40% of damage taken | Mushroom XIII reward |
Choose Genji Shield if you want a Coliseum reward, Save the King if item restoration is central to your setup, or Save the King+ for MP recovery from damage. Ultimate Mushroom combines +9 Strength with a direct defensive effect; the reference identifies it as the shield with the greatest Strength.

How to get Save the King
Find the King Recipe
Open the recipe chest in Ship Graveyard: Seadrift Row. The recipe guide lists the King Recipe there and identifies Save the King as one of its synthesis results.
Synthesize it at a Moogle
Take the King Recipe to a Moogle and use synthesis to make Save the King. The available recipe information establishes the recipe location and result, but not a verified list of materials and quantities, so check the in-game synthesis screen for the ingredient requirements before gathering materials.

Ultimate Mushroom is a reward associated with Mushroom XIII challenges in Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix. The shield reference names Mushrooms No. 2, 6, 8, 10, and 12 as drop sources. It lists a 10% drop rate at rank A and a 100% drop rate at rank S, so aim for an S rank if you want the guaranteed reward stated by that reference.
The reward provides +9 Strength, Protectga, and absorption of 40% of damage taken. Those effects make it the most direct choice among these options for combining offense with passive damage reduction.
