If an onn tablet asks for Google Account verification after a factory reset, the supported way forward is to recover and enter a Google Account that was previously added and synced to that tablet. A reset can erase data without removing ownership verification. If you mean a forgotten screen PIN or pattern instead, that is a different lock and may involve data loss if a reset is needed.
First identify which lock is on the tablet
“Unlock” can refer to two different prompts:
- Screen lock: The tablet asks for the PIN, pattern, or password used to unlock its screen. If you cannot remember it, Android’s general guidance says a factory reset may be an option, but it erases stored data, accounts, and installed apps. Reset instructions can vary by Android version and device type. Android’s factory-reset guidance does not establish a button sequence for every onn model.
- Google Account verification after a reset: Setup asks for an account previously used on the device. This is an ownership check, not the screen PIN. Google’s explanation of this protection is written for Pixel Tablet, so its exact labels and steps should not be assumed to match every onn tablet. Google’s Pixel Tablet guidance describes the general verification principle.
Recover the Google Account before trying to set up the tablet
If setup requests a previously synced Google Account, recover that account and then enter it on the tablet. Google’s recovery process can help with a forgotten password, forgotten username, or unavailable verification code; it asks questions to establish that you own the account. Start at Google Account recovery.
If you forgot the username
Google says you can look up a username using the recovery phone number or recovery email on the account and the full name associated with it. If you recently changed account recovery information, Google says the changes may take up to seven days to take effect. That is a timing note about recovery-information changes, not a guaranteed seven-day lockout.

Answer the recovery questions as accurately as possible. If Google offers the option, try a device, browser, and location you normally use to sign in. Recovery is not guaranteed, and the account must be one previously added and synced to the tablet for post-reset verification.

If the tablet is still asking for a screen PIN
Do not factory-reset the tablet until you have considered the data consequences. Android says a reset removes device data, accounts, and installed apps. If you can still access the tablet, back up important data before taking any reset step.
The sources available here do not establish an official onn model-specific reset procedure. Check the model number and consult onn support for instructions that match your device; avoid guessing at button combinations, since procedures can vary.

If you are already at Google verification
Enter the credentials for a Google Account that was previously added and synced to the tablet. Google’s Pixel Tablet instructions say setup cannot be completed without the requested information. An onn-related Google Android Community discussion reports a similar previous-account requirement, but it is not an onn manufacturer manual or a universal specification for all onn models. If the account is yours but recovery does not resolve the issue, contact onn support with the tablet’s model information.

Do not give your password or verification codes to a third party claiming it can bypass ownership verification or recover the account for you. Google warns users not to share those details and says it does not work with services that claim to provide account or password support. Use Google’s official recovery flow instead.
