To unlock aircraft faster in ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE, earn Military Result Points (MRP) in Campaign missions and spend them deliberately in the Aircraft Tree. MRP also pays for weapons and upgrades, so prioritize the aircraft or capability that helps with an upcoming objective instead of buying indiscriminately. Replaying target-dense missions in Free Mission is worth trying, but no official payout table establishes a universally fastest mission.
How campaign aircraft unlocks work
Bandai Namco says additional fighter jets are unlocked with MRP earned in missions. The Aircraft Tree is therefore a shared progression budget: MRP spent on one purchase is unavailable for another. The publisher also recommends matching aircraft and special weapons to mission objectives, while aircraft parts can be combined to improve a plane. A launch-period review by Tom’s Guide reports that MRP can also buy weapons, upgrades, and aircraft for teammates. That means the best first purchase depends on the next mission and your current options; there is no established optimal unlock order. Check the briefing and aircraft selection screen before spending heavily. The review also reports carrier-capable aircraft restrictions in some mid-game missions, so keep that possibility in mind rather than exhausting your MRP on an unrelated branch.

The official information confirms that MRP comes from missions but does not give a full payout formula, a score-to-MRP conversion, or a ranking of missions by MRP per minute. No cited evidence establishes that a particular difficulty, weapon, or route is mathematically best.

A launch-period guide from Power Up Gaming recommends replaying missions with many accessible targets once Free Mission is available, including ground targets, ships, and mixed forces. Treat that as a suggestion to test, not a guaranteed fastest method: it is third-party advice rather than an official comparison or controlled test.
A practical replay routine
- Choose a specific aircraft or capability you want next in the Aircraft Tree.
- Review upcoming objectives and avoid spending away the option to buy a carrier-capable aircraft if a mission may require one.
- In Free Mission, try a target-dense mission with a loadout suited to its targets.
- Compare your own MRP payout with the time and effort required; keep the route that works best with your aircraft, loadout, and skill.
- Do not assume a farming route from an earlier Ace Combat game works the same way here.

Keep Campaign, Online, and ACE PASS progression separate
Campaign aircraft purchases use MRP. ACE COMBAT Online has separate progression and save data: mercenary rank expands the aircraft available online, sorties level up online aircraft and can unlock abilities, and online aircraft are obtained through mercenary rewards. Online play also contributes to ACE PASS progress. These systems do not provide a shortcut to the normal Campaign Aircraft Tree. For Season 1, Bandai Namco’s Europe FAQ lists ADFX-02 Morgan–PIXY as a Level 1 reward on the Premium pass. Premium ACE PASS PLUS adds a 30-level skip, and the Deluxe Edition includes a voucher for one season of Premium ACE PASS PLUS. These are seasonal or Online benefits, not a general campaign aircraft unlock boost. The FAQ says Morgan–PIXY must be unlocked by completing Campaign Mode before it can be used in Campaign. Season terms can change, so check the Bandai Namco Europe FAQ and official game page for current details.

- Preserve flexibility: leave enough MRP for a compatible option if the mission calls for carrier-capable aircraft.
- Weigh upgrades against new jets: an upgrade or weapon may improve an aircraft you already use, while saving may open another plane; choose based on the problem you need to solve.
- Defer low-priority branches: teammate aircraft and other purchases compete for the same MRP, so avoid buying them automatically.
