To turn on Low Power Mode, open Settings > Battery. On iPhone 15 and later, tap Power Mode, then switch on Low Power Mode. On iPhone 14 and earlier, switch on Low Power Mode directly in Settings > Battery.
Turn on Low Power Mode in Settings
- Open Settings, then tap Battery.
- Follow the path for your model:
- iPhone 15 and later: Tap Power Mode, then turn on Low Power Mode.
- iPhone 14 and earlier: Turn on Low Power Mode on the Battery screen.

Turn it on from Control Center or with Siri
Control Center
If Low Power Mode is not already available in Control Center, add its control first, then tap it to switch the mode on or off. Apple’s current iPhone guide explains how to add controls: Save battery life with Power Modes on iPhone.
Siri
Ask Siri to turn Low Power Mode on. You can also ask Siri to turn it off.

Check whether Low Power Mode is on
When the mode is active, the battery icon in the status bar turns yellow. Low Power Mode automatically turns off when the iPhone charges to 80% or higher.
What changes when Low Power Mode is active
Low Power Mode reduces energy use by limiting or pausing some features. Apple lists reduced display brightness, some visual effects being turned off, temporary pausing of iCloud Photos, automatic downloads being turned off, email fetch being turned off, and Background App Refresh being turned off. Some tasks may take longer.

On iPhone models with ProMotion displays, Low Power Mode limits the display to 60 frames per second. On iPhone 12 and iPhone 13, 5G remains available for streaming and large downloads. See Apple’s iPhone User Guide explanation of Power Modes for the feature details.
How much longer a charge lasts depends on how you use your iPhone; Apple does not provide a universal extra-hours figure for Low Power Mode.

Low Power Mode and Adaptive Power
Low Power Mode is a setting you can turn on manually. Adaptive Power is a separate feature that, when enabled on a supported iPhone, can automatically turn on Low Power Mode when the battery reaches 20%. Device support is required for Adaptive Power, but not for manual activation of Low Power Mode.
