To stop scheduled medication reminders, open Health, tap Medications, scroll to Options, then turn off Dose Reminders. To stop delayed prompts for doses you have not logged, turn off Follow Up Reminders in the same place.
Turn off scheduled medication reminders

Open the Health app on your iPhone.

Tap Medications. Depending on your version of the app, you may find it through Search or Browse.

Switch off Dose Reminders.
Apple documents this control in its medication reminders instructions. If the labels or navigation differ on your iPhone, use the Medications section in Health and look for Options.

Follow-up reminders
To stop later alerts about a dose you have not logged, switch off Follow Up Reminders in Health > Medications > Options. Apple says these reminders can arrive 30 minutes after the scheduled time if the dose has not been logged. This is a separate control from Dose Reminders. Apple’s iPhone User Guide describes both settings.

Critical Alerts
Critical Alerts have a separate setting: open Settings > Apps > Health > Notifications and switch off Critical Alerts. Apple says these alerts can appear on the Lock Screen and play a sound even when Focus is on or iPhone is muted. Turning this setting off does not itself turn off scheduled dose reminders.
One medication’s schedule
If you want to change the timing or schedule for just one medication, open that medication in Health > Medications and edit its Schedule. Use this only when the schedule itself should change; Dose Reminders is the direct control when you want scheduled reminder notifications off.

Keep the medication record
You do not need to delete a medication to silence its reminders. Apple distinguishes archiving from deleting: archiving removes a medication from the active list while keeping its details and log history; deleting removes its information and history. Use the reminder controls above unless you also intend to change or remove the medication record. Apple’s medication instructions explain the difference.
Version and availability notes
Apple’s support article, published September 15, 2026, places Dose Reminders in Health > Medications > Options. The User Guide may use Browse while other interfaces may show Search. Some Health medication features are not available in every country or region.

Apple specifies that cyclical and specific-days medication schedules require iOS 18 or later, iPadOS 18 or later, and watchOS 11 or later. That requirement applies to those schedule types; Apple’s instructions do not establish that the basic Dose Reminders switch requires those versions.
