To stop Pokémon GO Gift notifications, turn off the app’s notifications in your phone settings. On iPhone, go to Settings → Notifications → Pokémon GO and switch off Allow Notifications. On Android, open the app’s notification settings and turn off Pokémon GO notifications. These routes silence all app notifications; a Gift-only control is not documented in the official materials cited here.
Turn off Pokémon GO notifications on iPhone
- Open Settings.
- Tap Notifications, then Pokémon GO.
- Turn off Allow Notifications.
This disables notifications from Pokémon GO, not just Gift alerts. Apple notes that some apps let you customize notification types, but that depends on the app; its general instructions are at Change notification settings on iPhone.
Turn off Pokémon GO notifications on Android
- Open Settings.
- Tap Notifications or App notifications, then select Pokémon GO.
- Turn off the app’s notifications.
Settings names and paths vary by device and Android version. On supported devices, you can also touch and hold a Pokémon GO notification, open its notification settings, and disable the app or a category. Niantic’s Gifts guidance says friends are notified when you send them a Gift and that you receive a notification when a friend sends one. The official materials cited here do not document a dedicated in-game switch for ordinary friend Gift notifications. If your phone exposes a relevant Pokémon GO notification category, you can disable that category; otherwise, the documented option is to silence Pokémon GO notifications as a whole. Sponsored Gifts are a separate setting
Niantic has a setting called Show sponsored messages from third-party advertising services. Turning it off opts out of sponsored messages, but it does not control notifications about Gifts from friends. Niantic says this setting “does not affect your ability to obtain Gifts from Gyms or PokéStops to send to your friends.” See Sponsored Gifts.
