To stop your Samsung Galaxy from notifying you when mobile data reaches a threshold, open Settings > Connections > Data usage > Billing cycle and data warning and switch off Set data warning. The exact menu names can vary by model, software, carrier, and region.
Turn off the data warning
- Open Settings.
- Tap Connections, then Data usage.
- Tap Billing cycle and data warning.
- Switch off Set data warning.
This disables the warning notification; it does not change your mobile-data allowance or turn off mobile data. Samsung documents the switch in its Galaxy data-usage instructions.
Know the difference between a warning and a data limit
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Set data warning | Notifies you when usage reaches the threshold you selected. |
| Set data limit | Can automatically switch off mobile data when usage reaches the configured limit. |
The warning and limit are separate controls, as described in Samsung’s UK guidance. If you only want to stop alerts, turn off Set data warning and leave Set data limit as you prefer. If mobile data stops working at a usage threshold, return to the same menu and check whether Set data limit is enabled.

If you cannot find the setting
The billing-cycle and warning menu may not appear when there is no active SIM, no mobile-network connection, or the phone is connected only to Wi-Fi. Samsung also notes that screens and available settings can differ by country, model, software version, and carrier.
