LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is available for Nintendo Switch 2; Nintendo Canada lists its release date as September 18, 2026 and its digital download size as 23.7 GB. If the game crashes, stutters, or has download problems, first identify exactly when the issue occurs and record any error code. The official information reviewed does not document a confirmed Switch 2 defect or a game-specific fix, so the checks below are diagnostic steps, not guaranteed repairs.
Before troubleshooting: confirm the edition and basic requirements
Nintendo Canada’s Switch 2 store listing gives a 23.7 GB download size. Compare that with the console’s available storage if you are downloading the digital game. The listing is for the Canadian store; availability, file sizes, and prices can differ by region and change over time. Updates may also affect the space required, so 23.7 GB should not be treated as a guaranteed total for every installation or update.
WB Games says an internet connection is not required to play, but online access is needed to download game updates. Nintendo Switch Online is not required to play, according to the WB Games FAQ. Nintendo lists TV, tabletop, and handheld play, with one to two players on a single system. These facts do not establish that any particular mode or local co-op causes crashes or stuttering.

The official FAQ reviewed does not provide a Switch 2 crash diagnosis or a title-specific repair sequence. Avoid assuming that a crash means the game is defective or that one particular repair will work. Narrow down the failure first:

- Record the failure point and message. Note whether the game fails before its title screen, while loading, or during play. Write down the exact on-screen message or error code, if one appears.
- Check for software updates. Check that both the game and the Switch 2 system report current software. WB Games says internet access is needed to download game updates; it is not required simply to play.
- See whether the problem is repeatable. Note what you were doing when the crash occurred and whether it happens again at the same point. A repeatable location or action is useful information to report, but it does not by itself prove the cause.
- Escalate with details if it continues. Contact Nintendo or WB Games support and provide the error, the game version, when the failure occurs, and the steps you have already tried. Do not assume the game appears on a Nintendo compatibility or known-issue list; the sources reviewed do not establish that.
How to investigate stuttering or uneven performance
The sources reviewed do not state a Switch 2 frame-rate target, identify a performance mode, or confirm a stuttering defect for this game. To make a report useful, track the conditions rather than treating any one observation as a diagnosis:
- Record the game version and the area or activity where stuttering occurs.
- Note whether it happens repeatedly in the same place or only occasionally.
- Compare whether it occurs in handheld, tabletop, and TV modes, if you can check more than one.
- Note whether the console feels unusually hot when the issue happens. This is an observation to share, not proof of a cause.
If the behavior is persistent and reproducible, send those details to publisher support. No measured performance claims or confirmed Switch 2 stuttering issue are established by the official sources cited here.

How to investigate download problems on Switch 2
Nintendo Canada lists the digital game at 23.7 GB. Confirm that you are downloading the Switch 2 edition and compare the console’s free storage with the listed base-game size; an update can change actual storage needs. If the download will not proceed, the reviewed sources do not establish that buying a physical edition or a storage accessory fixes the problem.

- Capture the eShop error code. Record the exact code and any accompanying message rather than paraphrasing it.
- Check available storage. Compare the free space shown on the console with the listing’s 23.7 GB base-game download size. Do not assume this figure covers future updates.
- Report the result. If the problem persists, contact Nintendo support with the error code, whether the download completed, the available storage, and what you tried.
For update downloads, internet access is required according to WB Games. The FAQ does not describe a game-specific download-error repair.

What to include in a support request
A concise report helps support distinguish a crash from a download failure or an intermittent performance symptom. Include the information that applies to your issue:
- The exact error code or on-screen text.
- When the failure happens and whether a download completes.
- The installed game version and available console storage.
- For stuttering, the location or activity and whether it reproduces in handheld, tabletop, or TV mode.
- The troubleshooting steps already attempted.
The LEGO Group’s May 19, 2026 launch announcement said the Switch 2 version would arrive later in 2026, but that timing is superseded by Nintendo Canada’s later listing of September 18, 2026 as the release date.
