To transfer several Legendary Pokémon to Professor Willow in one batch, open your Pokémon storage, tap and hold one Pokémon until it is selected, tap the other Pokémon you want to include, then tap Transfer. First enable the option for transferring multiple Legendary or Mythical Pokémon in the app settings. Niantic’s help instructions do not give that option’s exact label or menu path, so look for it in the current settings rather than relying on a potentially outdated route.
Transfer multiple Legendary Pokémon in Pokémon GO
- From the Map View, open the main menu and tap Pokémon.
- Find a Pokémon you want to transfer, then tap and hold it until selection begins.
- Tap each additional Pokémon you want included. Review the selected Pokémon carefully.
- Tap Transfer to complete the action.
If you are transferring more than one Legendary or Mythical Pokémon, enable the corresponding option in the app settings before selecting them. Niantic’s instructions do not specify its exact name or where it appears in the settings menus; the labels and layout may change with app updates. Niantic’s transfer instructions describe holding the first Pokémon and tapping the others to select a group.

Check these restrictions before you transfer
A transfer to Professor Willow is permanent. Niantic states, “You can’t get Pokémon back after you’ve transferred them.” Before confirming, check each selected Pokémon and remove anything you may want to keep.

- Favorited Pokémon, your active Buddy, and Pokémon defending Gyms cannot be transferred.
- You cannot transfer multiple Shiny Pokémon, Lucky Pokémon, or Buddy Pokémon at Good Buddy status or higher together.
- Some Legendary and Mythical Pokémon cannot be selected for transfer. Niantic names Mew and Celebi as examples, so do not assume every Pokémon in those categories is transferable.
A Professor Willow transfer grants Candy and frees Pokémon storage, according to Niantic’s Pokémon transfer guidance.

Professor Willow transfer versus Pokémon HOME
These are separate actions with different destinations and consequences. Use the in-game Transfer option to send eligible Pokémon to Professor Willow. To send Pokémon to Pokémon HOME, link the accounts and use the GO Transporter; that process consumes GO Transporter Energy based on the Pokémon being sent. Pokémon sent to HOME cannot return to Pokémon GO. See Niantic’s Pokémon HOME instructions for that separate flow.
