You can move a compatible LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight save between Nintendo Switch-family consoles using Nintendo’s nearby-console transfer. You’ll need both consoles online and close together, with the same Nintendo Account linked to the relevant users. The transfer moves the save: it deletes the source copy, and replacing a save already on the target console can permanently erase that target save. Nintendo says a Nintendo Switch Online membership is not required for this transfer.
Before you transfer your save
- Update both consoles to the latest system software, as Nintendo’s transfer directions require.
- Connect both consoles to the internet and keep them near each other during the transfer.
- Make sure the same Nintendo Account is linked to the user on each console.
- Check whether the target console already has a save for the game. Receiving the transferred save can overwrite the existing one, and Nintendo says overwritten save data cannot be recovered.
- Decide whether you can safely remove the source save. This process moves the save rather than making a second copy.
Nintendo describes the feature as applying to compatible software. Its general support instructions explain the system-level transfer, but do not specifically confirm that this game’s Switch and Switch 2 editions enable cross-generation save sharing. If preserving an existing save is important, do not proceed until you have confirmed compatibility with the game’s support information.
Transfer between Switch-family consoles
- On the console with the save, open System Settings > Data Management > Transfer Your Save Data.
- Select Send Save Data to Another Console. If prompted on Switch 2, choose the target system type.
- Choose the user and the LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight save file, then select Next and OK.
- On the receiving console, open System Settings > Data Management > Transfer Your Save Data > Receive Save Data.
- Follow the on-screen prompts. When the transfer finishes, open the game on the target console and check that the expected progress is present.
These are Nintendo Support’s nearby-console transfer steps. The source save is deleted after it is sent; if the target already contains a save, cancel rather than accept if you do not want it overwritten. Nintendo Support: Transfer your save data.

| Nearby-console transfer | Moving a compatible save between two Switch-family consoles | Both consoles online and nearby; same Nintendo Account on the relevant users. Nintendo says Nintendo Switch Online is not required. Sending deletes the source save, and receiving may overwrite a target save. |
| Save Data Cloud | Restoring a cloud-backed save on a compatible account and system | Nintendo Australia lists this game as supporting Save Data Cloud and says a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership is required for the feature. Cloud support does not establish a way to import PC, PlayStation, or Xbox saves. |
The cloud-save information is from Nintendo Australia’s listing; availability and service terms can vary by region. Check your local Nintendo game listing and the console’s save-data settings before relying on a backup. Nintendo Australia: LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.
#1 Best Overall
- Nintendo Switch 2 uses a new standard of expandable memory card called microSD Express (sold separately). This kind of memory card is needed for faster access speeds and to ensure games will run smoothly.
- Please note: Nintendo Switch 2 is only compatible with microSD Express cards. If the microSD cards you have used for Nintendo Switch do not support microSD Express standards, you cannot use them with Nintendo Switch 2.
Can you transfer a PS5, Xbox, or PC save to Switch 2?
Cross-platform save transfer is not confirmed by the official information reviewed. WB Games lists versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC, but its FAQ does not establish that progress can move between those platform families. Linking a WB Games account is not proof that save data synchronizes. If you are changing from PC, PlayStation, or Xbox, ask WB Games Support whether your specific platform-to-Switch 2 transfer is supported before buying or starting over.

Nintendo’s UK listing gives the Switch 2 release date as 18 September 2026. That listing establishes the game’s availability for Switch 2, not that a save from another platform—or even every save from an earlier Switch-family edition—can be imported.
