Osmo Pocket 3 records footage to the microSD card in the camera. To copy it to a phone, use DJI Mimo or a USB-C OTG connection; to copy it to a computer, connect the camera by USB-C or use a card reader. For a dependable backup, keep the card unchanged until you have copied the files to another storage device and checked that the copies open.
Where Osmo Pocket 3 footage is stored
Footage is saved to the microSD card inserted in the camera; DJI says the camera has no built-in storage. DJI lists support for cards up to 1 TB and recommends UHS-I Speed Grade 3 or faster for optimal transfer speed. Check DJI’s Osmo Pocket 3 support page for its recommended card models and specifications, and its beginner’s guide for the speed-class recommendation.
Transfer footage to a phone
Use DJI Mimo over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
- Turn on Osmo Pocket 3 and enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for its app connection.
- Connect the camera to DJI Mimo.
- Open playback in Mimo, select the clips you want, and download them to the phone.
This route lets you browse and select clips in the app. DJI’s Osmo Pocket 3 FAQ documents the connection and export steps; it does not state a transfer-speed figure. Check DJI’s downloads page for current Mimo details and phone or operating-system compatibility.
Connect the camera to an OTG-supported phone
- On the camera, select OTG connection in the system settings.
- Connect the camera to the phone with a USB-C cable.
- Use this method only if the phone supports USB-C OTG.
Phone OTG support is required for this wired route, according to DJI’s FAQ.

Transfer footage to a computer
Connect the camera by USB-C
- Connect Osmo Pocket 3 to the computer with a USB-C data connection.
- Access the camera’s storage and copy the footage you need to a folder on the computer.
DJI documents USB-C as a file-transfer option but does not specify a required operating system or transfer-rate benchmark in the cited FAQ. If the camera or computer does not expose the files, try the card-reader method instead.
Use a microSD card reader
- Power off the camera before removing the microSD card.
- Insert the card into a compatible reader connected to the computer.
- Copy the desired files from the card to a folder on the computer.
DJI recommends a card reader for quickly exporting multiple files in its Osmo Series Footage Export Guide. This method requires a reader compatible with the card.

Make a backup before reusing the card
A transfer to a phone or computer is a copy, but one destination alone leaves the footage dependent on that device. Use the microSD card as the original until you have a second copy on separate storage.

- Copy those files to separate storage, such as another drive.
- Open a sample of the copied clips, or otherwise verify that the transfer completed successfully.
- Only after checking the copies should you consider formatting or reusing the camera card.
This is practical file-preservation guidance, not a special DJI backup feature. The export routes are documented in DJI’s FAQ and export guide.

Use DJI Mimo for the current app workflow
DJI identifies Mimo as the phone app for connecting, syncing, editing, and sharing. Its downloads page lists current app details and compatibility information, which may change. DJI says LightCut updates and feature maintenance ended in September 2026 and advises using DJI Mimo or DJI Fly instead for a smooth editing experience.
