To track inventory, open your store’s product settings, enable Track quantity, enter the current stock, and save. For products with sizes, colors, or other variations, set the quantity for each variant separately.
Open your store’s product manager
Store management requires an active ecommerce subscription. The route depends on which editor mode you use:
- Manual mode: From Websites, choose Edit website, then open Online store → Manage store.
- Agentic mode: Open the website editor and choose Ecommerce in the top navigation.
Once store management opens, select Products and open the product you want to update.

Turn on inventory tracking for a product
- In the product editor, scroll to Pricing.
- Enable Track quantity.
- Enter the number of units currently in stock in Quantity.
- Save the product.
Entering a stock number without enabling Track quantity is not the documented setup. Repeat these steps for each product whose stock you want the store to maintain.
Track stock for product variants
If a product comes in options such as sizes or colors, use separate quantities when inventory differs between options. In the product editor’s Options area, enable Track quantity for each relevant variant, enter that variant’s stock, and save.
The product guide states that a product can have up to 50 options or variations. That is a platform limit described in the guide available in 2026 and may change.

What happens as stock changes
- After a sale, the store deducts the sold quantity from tracked stock.
- When an order is canceled, the store restores the stock.
- When tracked stock reaches zero, customers cannot add that product to the cart.
The tracking guide does not establish low-stock alerts, purchase-order tools, or inventory management across multiple locations, so do not assume those functions are included in this workflow.
Products this setting does not cover
Inventory tracking does not apply to appointments or gift cards. The product guide also states that a store can contain up to 1,000 products; this limit, like the variation limit, is subject to change.

A payment method must be configured before customers can pay for a physical product. It is not required simply to configure stock quantities.
